Position of Hands During Ruku` (Hadith No. 756)

Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 756:
Narrated Mus'ab bin Sa'd:
I offered prayer beside my father and approximated both my hands and placed them in between the knees. My father told me not to do so and said, "We used to do the same but we were forbidden (by the Prophet) to do it and were ordered to place the hands on the knees."

That, is how you do ruku`.

22 Takbirs (Ahadith 751-755)

Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 751:
Narrated Imran bin Husain:
I offered the prayer with 'Ali in Basra and he made us remember the prayer which we used to pray with Allah's Apostle. 'Ali said Takbir on each rising and bowing.

 Volume 1, Book 12, Number 752:
Narrated Abu Salama:
When Abu Huraira led us in prayer he used to say Takbir on each bowing and rising. On the completion of the prayer he used to say, "My prayer is more similar to the prayer of Allah's Apostle than that of anyone of you."

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 753:
Narrated Mutarrif bin 'Abdullah:
'Imran bin Husain and I offered the prayer behind Ali bin Abi Talib. When 'Ali prostrated, he said the Takbir, when he raised his head, he said the Takbir and when he got up for the third Rak'a he said the Takbir. On completion of the prayer Imran took my hand and said, "This (i.e. 'Ali) made me remember the prayer of Muhammad" Or he said, "He led us in a prayer like that of Muhammad."

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 754:
Narrated 'Ikrima:
I saw a person praying at Muqam-lbrahim (the place of Abraham by the Ka'ba) and he was saying Takbir on every bowing, rising, standing and sitting. I asked Ibn 'Abbas (about this prayer). He admonished me saying: "Isn't that the prayer of the Prophet?"

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 755:
Narrated 'Ikrima:
I prayed behind a Sheikh at Mecca and he said twenty two Takbirs (during the prayer). I told Ibn 'Abbas that he (i.e. that Sheikh) was foolish. Ibn 'Abbas admonished me and said, "This is the tradition of Abu-l-Qasim." And narrated Abu Huraira: Whenever Allah's Apostle stood for the prayer, he said Takbir on starting the prayer and then on bowing. On rising from bowing he said, "Sami' a-l-lahu liman hamida," and then while standing straight he used to say, "Rabbana laka-l hamd" (Al-Laith said, "(The Prophet said), 'Walaka-l-hamd'." He used to say Takbir on prostrating and on raising his head from prostration; again he would say Takbir on prostrating and raising his head. He would then do the same in the whole of the prayer till it was completed. On rising from the second Rak'a (after sitting for At-Tahiyyat), he used to say Takbir.

In a four rak`aat-long Salah, one must say 22 takbirs. Count yours and see if your Salah matches that of the Prophet (SAW)!

Love for the Good (Hadith No. 750)

Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 750:
Narrated Abu Bakra:
I reached the Prophet in the mosque while he was bowing in prayer and I too bowed before joining the row. I mentioned it to the Prophet and he said to me, "May Allah increase your love for the good. But do not repeat it again (bowing in that way)."

Sometimes people get a bit too enthusiastic while doing something for the Deen. They might do something wrong in that craze or cross a boundary unwillingly. The way to deal with them is not to be harsh nor discourage them. That would be very unwise! And I see it happen a lot as well, sadly.

Prophet (SAW) responded to Abu Bakra's action starting with a positive note. He gave him a du`a, and what a beautiful du`a it was! <3

زادك الله حرصا

"May Allah increase your love for the good."

After encouraging him, he (SAW) told him not to repeat this action again because it's not the right way to join Salah. One must join the saff (row) and then join the congregation with takbir.

May Allah give us the wisdom and knowledge that Prophet (SAW) left for us. For truly, that is the only thing we get to inherit from him. :)

Wassalam.

Ameen! (Ahadith 747-749)

Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 747:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "Say Amin" when the Imam says it and if the Amin of any one of you coincides with that of the angels then all his past sins will be forgiven." Ibn Shihab said, "Allah's Apostle used to Say "Amin."

 Volume 1, Book 12, Number 748:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "If any one of you says, "Amin" and the angels in the heavens say "Amin" and the former coincides with the latter, all his past sins will be forgiven."

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 749:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "Say Amen' when the Imam says "Ghair-il-maghdubi 'alaihim wala-ddal-lin; not the path of those who earn Your Anger (such as Jews) nor of those who go astray (such as Christians); all the past sins of the person whose saying (of Amin) coincides with that of the angels, will be forgiven.
  • Say Ameen after reciting/hearing Surah al-Fatihah.
  • When your Ameen coincides with that of the angels, all your past sins are forgiven. Your timing has to be accurate.
"Say Amin when the Imam says it.."
Wassalam.

Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 741:
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:
The Prophet recited aloud in the prayers in which he was ordered to do so and quietly in the prayers in which he was ordered to do so. "And your Lord is not forgetful." "Verily there was a good example for you in the ways of the Prophet."

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 742:
Narrated Abu Wa'il:
A man came to Ibn Mas'ud and said, "I recited the Mufassal (Suras) at night in one Rak'a." Ibn Mas'ud said, "This recitation is (too quick) like the recitation of poetry. I know the identical Suras which the Prophet used to recite in pairs." Ibn Mas'ud then mentioned 20 Mufassal Suras including two Suras from the family of (i.e. those verses which begin with) AL, HA, MIM (which the Prophet used to recite) in each Rak'a.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 743:
Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatada:
My father said, "The Prophet uses to recite Al-Fatiha followed by another Sura in the first two Rakat of the prayer and used to recite only Al-Fatiha in the last two Rakat of the Zuhr prayer. Sometimes a verse or so was audible and he used to prolong the first Rak'a more than the second and used to do the same in the 'Asr and Fajr prayers."

 Volume 1, Book 12, Number 744:
Narrated Abu Ma'mar:
We said to Khabbab "Did Allah's Apostle used to recite in Zuhr and 'Asr prayers?" He replied in the affirmative. We said, "How did you come to know about it?" He said, "By the movement of his beard."

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 745:
Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatada:
My father said, "The Prophet used to recite Al-Fatiha along with another Sura in the first two Rakat of the Zuhr and 'Asr prayers. A verse or so was audible at times and he used to prolong the first Rak'a."

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 746:
Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatada:
My father said, "The Prophet used to prolong the first Rak'a of the Zuhr prayer and shorten the second one and used to do the same in the Fajr prayer."
  • Fajr, Maghrib and `Ishaa' are the jahri prayers. Prophet (SAW) used to recite aloud in them (in congregation). Dhuhr and `Asr are the sirri prayers. Prophet (SAW) used to recite slowly or 'silently' in them. Read more on it here.
  • Reciting Mufassal Surahs (from Surah Qaf onwards) in `Ishaa' is Sunnah.
  • Reciting Surah al-Fatihah in each rak`ah of every Salah is of the utmost importance. More on it here.
  • Lips should move while reciting 'silently'. Also, first rak`ah of prayer is the longest. Details here.

Advices by Sheikh Abdulbary Yahya

"Some people like certain advices so much, they decorate and adorn their Twitter pages with them instead of putting them to practice. Some people like certain verses of the Quran so much, they decorate and adorn their walls with them instead of putting them to practice." by Sheikh Abdulbary Yahya

This is so true. Many people share hadith,Quranic verses, advises and much more on blogs, Facebook, twitter and etc. But,less people practice what they share. Some people use pictures on their profile of niqab, hijab  but less they practice. Some people have albums of Quran,Hadith and Inspiring Islamic stuff but less they practice. That is why Facebook can be face hell. So share only if you have practiced or strong intention to practice:) .Otherwise, it will be asked on the day of judgement.Subhan ALLAH. May ALLAH grant this sheikh Jannah Ameen.

Modesty and shyness may be the most underrated virtues of modern society.

by Sheikh Abdul bary Yahya.

That is why women don't feel any shame in talking to a men and a men don't feel any shame in talking to a women. They don't even feel uncomfortable. They don't even feel that they are doing sin. I don't understand how can a women display herself in hijab or even in niqab in the public. What is the purpose of niqab? Not to allow non mahram look at you.But you ruin the purpose of niqab by displaying it on internet. Because when we go out we need to wear it,that is a NEED but on internet it is a DESIRE.Those who use thier niqab pictures are just showing thier eyes and showing that they look beautiful in niqab. Is this the purpose of niqab ? Astagfirullah. May ALLAH grant our sisters hikmah and hidayah Ameen. Our brothers lack shyness and Prophet was the most shy person. How can a shy brother use his picture on display :)?

Jinns Listen to the Qur'an (Hadith No. 740)

Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 740:
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:
The Prophet set out with the intention of going to Suq 'Ukaz (market of 'Ukaz) along with some of his companions. At the same time, a barrier was put between the devils and the news of heaven. Fire commenced to be thrown at them. The Devils went to their people, who asked them, "What is wrong with you?" They said, "A barrier has been placed between us and the news of heaven. And fire has been thrown at us." They said, "The thing which has put a barrier between you and the news of heaven must be something which has happened recently. Go eastward and westward and see what has put a barrier between you and the news of heaven." Those who went towards Tuhama came across the Prophet at a place called Nakhla and it was on the way to Suq 'Ukaz and the Prophet was offering the Fajr prayer with his companions. When they heard the Qur'an they listened to it and said, "By Allah, this is the thing which has put a barrier between us and the news of heaven." They went to their people and said, "O our people; verily we have heard a wonderful recital (Qur'an) which shows the true path; we believed in it and would not ascribe partners to our Lord." Allah revealed the following verses to his Prophet (Sura 'Jinn') (72): "Say: It has been revealed to me..." And what was revealed to him was the conversation of the Jinns.

Imaam Bukhari mentions this Hadith here because he's providing evidence for reciting aloud in prayer.
If you're interested in reading more on this barrier that was put between the Jinns and the news from heaven, read Tafsir of Surah al-Jinn. It's quite interesting. :)

Allah swt has promised in Quran that He will give Khilafah to the people who will have faith and do righteous deeds

Allah swt has promised in Quran that He will give Khilafah to the people who will have faith and do righteous deeds .Allah swt says:

Allâh has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islâm). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me.

It is very much evident that Allah swt blessed Abu Bakar Umer Usman and Ali rizwanullahee aliehim ajmaeen with Khilafah on the globe .This proves that all of these companions of Holy prophet were full of Iman and were doing the righteous deeds .If Allah swt has blessed them with Khilafah due to their Iman and righteous deeds who are we to doubt their faith and righteous deeds??

Should we say happy Christmas to Christians??????????

We can console people of scriptures if they get shock , we can congratulate them on social celebrations like marriage ceremony or passing an examination .We can do business with them provided that transaction is halal .We can eat with them provided that food is halal .Muslim men can marry their chaste women but we cannot cannot copy them because it has been prohibited by Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam. We cannot greet them on their religious ceremonies because by this act we are endorsing their wrong theology and impure beliefs. So we should not wish Christmas to them .

Times of Prayers - At A Glance (Hadith No. 738)

Salam,
Bismillah.

Hadith no. 737 is a repeat. Read it here.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 738:
Narrated Saiyar bin Salama:
My father and I went to Abu Barza-al-Aslami to ask him about the stated times for the prayers. He replied, "The Prophet used to offer the Zuhr prayer when the sun just declined from its highest position at noon; the 'Asr at a time when if a man went to the farthest place in Medina (after praying) he would find the sun still hot (bright). (The sub narrator said: I have forgotten what Abu Barza said about the Maghrib prayer). The Prophet never found any harm in delaying the 'Isha' prayer to the first third of the night and he never liked to sleep before it and to talk after it. He used to offer the morning prayer at a time when after finishing it one could recognize the person sitting beside him and used to recite between 60 to 100 verses in one or both the Rakat."

Go through these Ahadith for more detail on times of prayers. I've already covered the Book of Times of Prayers [Kitaab Mawaqeet-us-Salah], so all you need to know is in this blog inshaAllah. :)

iv) State should adopt measures as well

3/ Solution for man with weak faith and un modest
i) Tawheed
ii) Salah
iii) Remembering Allah much [zikr]

REPLY BY BR. Mohammad Ali :- [detailed answer]
Asalam o alaikum wr.

Now that it has been elaborated, so its become clear and focus will be on the particular situation which is described. And masha Allah, i must say, u replied very well.
Well first of all we should know that Islam is such a great religion that it has given us guidelines of everything. Allah Almighty gave us some guidelines of going to public places. Which are:
1- Reading dua of leaving house. And reading dua of entering the market.
2- Making sure we are in proper hijab. Both men & women.
3- Females should not be going alone, even if together, even if in proper hijab. They should be accompanied by mehrams.
4- Lowering gaze and saying salam to each other and not sit on public places (markets) uselessly.
5- Females should try to walk on sides of road rather than in the middle.

Now the reasons for the unpleasant event with which the respected sisters got confronted, according to my naaqis soch (faulty thinking) are two:
1- They were confronted by a shaytan who had no sense of shame.
2- They did the mistake of going out to market alone without any mehram.

Believe it or not. When a mehram is with u, it lowers the morale of a shaytan to 80%. A shaytan who wants to see you or harass you will think 10 times if he sees some male with you. Male here doesn't mean a 10 year old kid. Male means a mature person who seems like a man. Sisters, trust me. U cannot go to some place and expect that the shaytans would not be there. U cannot go to some place and expect that angels would be walking there. Shaytans are everywhere. And human shaytan is more dangerous. Trust me. Because the jinn shaytan runs away when you read "Auz billahi min ash shaytan ir rajeem" or when it hears adhaan. But the human shaytan doesn't run whey u read auz billah or when it hears adhaan :p It does sins at the time of adhaan too or even if u read 100 times auz billah. So human shaytan is more dangerous and to be safe from this shaytan, sisters need to make sure they do something practical, rather than just dua, and that practical thing is to go out in the market or public places with some manly mehram. Only then this human shaytan would not confront you. And if it confronts u even when u are with mehram, then i am sure, any male, whether weak or strong, will have ghairah and will like to beat this shaytan who harrassed his women folk. This is the only practical solution i see right now.

As for the question "What should sister do now?" Then one thing is to tell her male mehram and tell him to find that shaytan and teach him a lesson :D Another thing is that she should do sabr and next time take extra care and go out with mehram.

As for the question "What should she do if next time this happens" Then as for yelling, if she yells, then the shaytan who did this would simply say that He touched by mistake and he would be baree (free) of this evil deed. And also it maybe that this was done mistakenly especially in a crowded area. So we got to see all possibilities. It maybe that the other person is a shareef maulvi like Mohammad Rana Usman Nisar and someone pushed him in a crowded area like daewoo bus station and he accidentally touches some female and that female slaps or yells and this poor person has to get beaten :P lol. So all possibilities should be taken into account. But i believe if this sister is with mehram, then the mehram would himself take care of it insha Allah and sister wont have to take much tention.

As for a very exceptional situation, that the sister has no mehram, what so ever, available and she wants to do some extra special work and needs to go to market with some female friends and in this situation she gets confronted with such an act (if she is sure that person did it intentionally and not mistakenly), then the solution according to my faulty thinking is tat she should report some elderly person near her and explain it to them.

STORY OF THE SAHABI WHO RAN AWAY TO MOUNTAINS

Thalaba Ibn Abdul Rahman was a young man at the age of 16. He always ran errands for the prophet pbuh. One day while walking though the city of Medina, he passed by a house with an open door. Out of curiosity he took a glance inside. In this glance, he saw a light curtain being blown away from a bathroom entrance where a woman was bathing. He immediately lowered his gaze. With an extreme feeling of guilt and hypocrisy his mind ran. Thinking to himself, How could I be of the companions, one that is close to the prophet pbuh, one who runs his errands and be so horrible as to disrespect peoples privacy??

He feared that Allah would reveal to the prophet pbuh evidence of his hypocrisy. His guilt denied him to ever show his face to the prophet pbuh. So he ran away. Days went by and the prophet kept asking the other companions if they had seen Thalaba. No one had seen him. With the prophet's worry about Thalaba he sent a few of the companions to look for him everywhere, among them were Omar Ibn Al Khattab and Salman Al Farisiy. They looked everywhere in Medina, and on the out skirts of Madina, until they came about a set of mountains between Mecca and Medina where some nomads were herding sheep. The companions asked the nomads if they had seen a young man with Thalaba's characteristics. They told the companions about a weeping boy. He had been here for 40 days. He came down from the mountains once a day weeping and drank the milk they would offer him. Then he went back up the mountains weeping, crying, always asking for Allah for forgiveness, and saying words of repentance. So the companions waited until he came down and watched him. He had lost weight. His countenance reflected sorrow as he drank the milk that was mixed with his tears.

The companions insisted that they take him back to the prophet pbuh but he refused and asked them if Allah had revealed verses saying he was a hypocrite. They told him that they had no knowledge of any such verses. He was taken back to Medina where the prophet pbuh went to see him. He asked again if Allah had put him among the hypocrites or revealed that he was. The prophet pbuh assured him that there were no such verses. He laid out Thalaba's tired, weak body and placed Thalaba's head on his lap. He said, "Oh prophet of Allah remove the head of a sinner away from you." The prophet pbuh comforted him until he told the prophet pbuh I feel as though ants are walking between my flesh and bones. The prophet told him it was death and his time had come. He witnessed while Thalaba's head was on his lap, Thalaba proclaimed. "There is no god worthy of worship other than Allah, and that Mohammad pbuh is the messenger of Allah." The prophet pbuh washed Thalaba and carried him to the grave. It is narrated that on their way to bury Thalaba, the prophet pbuh walked on his tippy toes as though he were in a crowd. When Umar asked about this, the prophet pbuh explained that he was being crowded with the angels."

Types of Relations

There are two types of relations one is natural and other is chosen.Natural relations are not in control of human beings we get our uncles and aunts without our choice they can be good or bad in character but when it comes to our choice like choosing spouse or choosing brothers in laws we can do our best to seek proper relations . We can commit mistakes despite our efforts because we are not innocent.

But when it comes to Rasool salal laho aliehi waslam we cannot think for a single moment that he could make mistake in his choice after revelation of wahee. There are two reasons for this both are mentioned in Quran:

Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only an Inspiration that is inspired. (An-Najm 53:3-4)

Bad women for bad men and bad men for bad women.Good women for good men and good men for good women . (An-Nur 24:26)

How can we think that naozobillah Rasool salal laho aliehi waslaam chose bad wives for him and bad husbands for his daughters.

As far as abu lahab and mushrik relatives of Rasool salal laho aliehi waslaam are concerned they were not the choice of Rasool salal laho aliehi waslaam .When Rasool salal laho aliehi waslaam decided his decisions were perfect and flawles

THE EFFECT THAT A BEAUTIFUL QIRAT AND UNDERSTANDING OF QURAN CAN HAVE ON YOU

Asalam o alaikum. Today i was praying Isha in my mosque behind my imam sb and something great happened which i will like to share with all. My Imam Sb. recites quran in 3-4 styles and he has a very good voice masha Allah, however one of his style is amazing and it is so heart touching that it makes people cry always.

I n
ever cried in any prayer, because of a hard heart (may Allah soften my heart. aameen). I do not remember that i ever cried in my life on anything except 1 time on an Islamic lecture. But today i was amazed how i cried. During Isha prayer my imam sb started reciting the verses of Surah Noor. And the more he advanced, the more i went deep into the meaning and tune of what he was reciting and then this ayah came:

"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp, the lamp is in glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself), though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allah guides to His Light whom He wills. And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything." (24:35)

I could understand every word of this ayah, and the way imam sb was reciting this was amazing. All of a sudden it made me realize that infront of WHOM am i standing. ALLAH HU AKBAR!! What a feeling it was. I could feel the hair on my hands and feet stand up. All of a sudden i remembered all my sins and then the AWE of this feeling that infront of Whom am i standing, it just made me cry. I couldn't hold on. What a prayer this was. I pray to Allah to make my every prayer like this. A prayer which makes me realize in Whose presence am i standing and a prayer which makes me remind all my sins and an eagerness to ask forgiveness for them crying in the sajdah. Ya Allah grant me such a khushu in every prayer. I am very thankful to my imam sb for the beautiful qirat and thankful to Allah Almighty that He gave me the taufeeq to understand Quran. I request all my brothers & sisters who have not read quran with understanding to hasten and understand it if they want to have wonderful effects like that. May Allah give all of us the taufeeq. aameen.

What to Recite in `Ishaa' Prayer? (Ahadith 733-736)

Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 733:
Narrated Abu Rafi:
I offered the 'Isha' prayer behind Abu Huraira and he recited, "Idha-s-Sama'u-n-Shaqqat" (84) and prostrated. On my inquiring, he said, "I prostrated behind Abu-l-Qasim (the Prophet) (when he recited that Sura) and I will go on doing it till I meet him."

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 734:
Narrated Al-Bara:
The Prophet was on a journey and recited in one of the first two Rakat of the 'Isha' prayer "Wat-tini waz-zaituni." (95)

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 735:
Narrated Abu Rafi':
Once I prayed the 'Isha' prayer with Abu Huraira and he recited, "Idha-s-Sama' u-nShaqqat" (84) and prostrated. I said, "What is that?" He said, "I prostrated behind Abu-l-Qasim, (the Prophet) (when he recited that Sura) and I will go on doing it till I meet him."

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 736:
Narrated Al-Bara:
I heard the Prophet reciting wat-tini wazzaituni" (95) in the 'Isha' prayer, and I never heard a sweeter voice or a better way of recitation than that of the Prophet.
  • Recite Surah al-Inshiqaaq in `Ishaa' prayer.
  • While traveling, recite Surah at-Teen in `Ishaa'. It's quite short. Travel-friendly. (y)
  • Recite in a sweet voice in Salah. Make it as 'good' as possible. :)
  • Learn the way of recitation of Prophet (SAW): Tajweed.
  • Keep following the Sunnah, and look forward to meeting Prophet (SAW) in Jannah iA.
