Dressing code in Islam

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

الحمد الله

1. A Muslim (male) should not wear silk at all, regardless of whether it be on his clothing, headcovering or anything else. This is because Allah's Messenger (SAWS) stated: "Do not wear silk, for the one who wears it in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter." (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

2. The person's gown, pants, head covering or cloak should not be so long as to go below the ankles. This is because Allah's Messenger (SAWS) said: "What is below the ankles of the waist-cloth is in the Hell fire." (Al-Bukhari)

- Allah's Messenger (SAWS) also said: "The one who lengthens the cloak, shirt and turban out of pride will not be looked at (with approval) on the Day of Resurrection." (An-Nasai)

- Allah's Messenger (SAWS) also said: "Allah does not look at the one who lowers his gown out of arrogance." (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

(POETRY BY MUSLIMIAH)

You look at me and call me oppressed,
Simply because of the way I'm dressed,

You know me not for what's inside,
You judge the clothing I wear with pride,

My body's not for your eyes to hold,
You must speak to my mind, not my feminine mold,

I'm an individual, I'm no mans slave,
It's Allah's pleasure that I only crave,

I have a voice so I will be heard,
For in my heart I carry His word,

"O ye women, wrap close your cloak,
So you won't be bothered by ignorant folk",

Man doesn't tell me to dress this way,
It's a Law from Allaah that I obey,

Oppressed is something I'm truly NOT,
For liberation is what I've got,

It was given to me many years ago,
With the right to prosper, the right to grow,

I can climb mouth or cross the seas,
Expand my mind in all degrees,

For Allaah Himself gave us LIBERTY,
When He sent Islam,

To You and Me!

Opinion of great scholars of Past on 2nd coming of Jesus aliehis salam
by Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

Qadianis and some other people who donot believe in authenticity of hadith are doing propoganda for a long period of time that Isa aliehi salam has died and will not come back again on this earth There are clear cut hadiths narrating the fact that he will come back on earth and will rule the globe and kill the one eyed Dajjal .One of the famous hadith quoted by Imam Muslim in his Saheeh is
Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my life, the son of Mary (may peace be upon him) will soon descend among you as a just judge. He will break crosses kill swine and abolish Jizya, and the wealth will pour forth to such an extent that no one will accept it. (Sahih Muslim, Vol. 1, p. 92)
In this article I will try to explore the opinion of some great scholars of the past about the hadiths related to 2nd coming of Jesus aliehis salam

Signs of Imam Mehdi are clearly mentioned in books of hadith here are some signs mentioned in books of hadith

1st Hadhrat Abdullah bin Mas'ood(RA) reports from the Prophet(SAW), who said:

The world will not come to pass until a man from among my family, whose name will be my name, rules over the Arabs.
(Tirmidhi Sahih, Vol. 9, P. 74; Abu Dawud, Sahih, Vol. 5, P. 207;
also narrated by Ali b. Abi Talib, Abu Sa'id, Umm Salma, Abu Hurayra)

The evils of the tongue

Backbiting

The definition of backbiting has been clearly explained in the hadeeth reported by Muslim (4/2001) upon the authority of Aboo Hurairah that:
The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Do you know what backbiting is?”
They said: “Allaah and His Messenger know best.”
He said: “Mentioning your brother with that which he dislikes.”
It was said to the Prophet (Salla Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam): “Even if what I mention about my brother is true?” He (Salla Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam) said:
“If what you have said concerning him is true, then surely you have backbitten him; and if what you said isn’t true, then surely you have slandered him.”

As for his statement: “You have slandered him.” An-Nawawi (commenting upon this in) (Sharh Muslim 16/142), said: “The Haa is to be pronounced lightly, and it takes a fathah. It means: that which you have said about him was slander, and this is because it was false.”

25 ways to deal with stress and anxiety in Islam

Stress is life. Stress is anything that causes mental, physical, or spiritual tension. There is no running away from it. All that matters is how you deal with it. This article does not deal with the factors of stress, anxiety, and depression, nor is it a clinical advice. If you feel depressed, you are not alone. This is why it is wise to consult a doctor if you are having physical symptoms of stress. However, here are some tips that can help from a spiritual perspective.

1. Ask Him. He Listens: DU`A

Turn each anxiety, each fear and each concern into a Dua (supplication). Look at it as another reason to submit to God and be in Sajdah (prostration), during which you are closest to Allah. God listens and already knows what is in your heart, but He wants you to ask Him for what you want.

The Prophet PBUH said: Allah is angry with those who do not ask Him for anything (Tirmidhi).

The Prophet PBUH once said that in prayer, he would find rest and relief (Nasai). He would also regularly ask for God’s forgiveness and remain in prostration during prayer praising God (Tasbeeh) and asking for His forgiveness (Bukhari).

Allah wants you to be specific. The Prophet PBUH advised us to ask Allah for exactly what we want instead of making vague Duas. Dua is the essence of worship (the Prophet as quoted in Tirmidhi).

“Call on your Lord with humility and in private: for Allah loveth not those who trespass beyond bounds. Do not make mischief on the earth, after it hath been set in order, but call on Him with fear. And longing (in your hearts): for the mercy of Allah is (always) near to those who do good” (Quran 7:55-56).

[ALL PRAISES BE TO ALLAH]

Backbiting, a sin which we actually don’t realize a sin. One of the major moral vice; spreading rapidly among the people, used to call gossip, slander, backbite, whisper, talk behind someone’s back, criticize and so on In point of fact, we ourselves don’t know why we do it. (PARWEEZA)

In surah Hujrat, Allah says,

O you who believe! Avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases is a sin, and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful.

And further Allah says,

No one make back bite. Any one among you would like to eat the meat of his dead brother

Various ahadeeth and sayings:

“…Backbiting is to say something about your brother that he would dislike…If what you say about him is true, you are backbiting him, but if it is not true then you have slandered him.” [Muslim]

“When man wakes up in the morning each day, all parts of the body warn the tongue saying, ‘Fear God as regards us, for we are at your mercy; if you are upright, we will be upright and if you are crooked, we become crooked.’” [Tirmidhi]

It was narrated in the Hadith relating the story of Mi’raj (Ascent): “The Prophet (peace be upon him) passed by people with copper fingernails – with which they scratch their own faces and chests. He asked: “Who are those, Gabriel?” It was answered: “Those are the people who eat the flesh of other people and vilify their honor.”

It was narrated that a man brought two fasting women to the Prophet (pbuh) – for they were dying of thirst. The Prophet (pbuh) turned away, silently refusing to give permission for them to break their fast. So, the man begged him again, mentioning that the women were on the verge of death. The Prophet then said, “Bring them to me and bring along a bowl.” When they turned to him, he turned to one and told her to vomit in the bowl. She complied, spitting up a mixture of vomit, blood, pus and pieces of flesh which half filled the bowl. He then turned to the other and had her do the same. After the bowl was filled, the Prophet (pbuh) reportedly said, “Verily these two have fasted from what Allah has made halaal for them; and broken their fast from what Allah has made haraam. They spent their fast eating the flesh of others.” [Ahmad]

“… Do not backbite Muslims, and do not search for their faults – for if anyone searches for their faults, Allah will search for his fault; and if Allah searches for the fault of anyone, He disgraces him in the open for everyone to see – even if he hid it in the innermost part of his house.” [Abu Dawud; Tirmidhi, others]
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not hurt (or insult) his neighbour…” [Bukhari]

“Whoever guarantees me (the chastity of) what is between his legs (i.e. his private parts), and what is between his jaws (i.e., his tongue), I guarantee him Paradise.” [Bukhari]

Scholar Hasan al-Basri reportedly said:

“I swear by Allah: backbiting is swifter in consuming the religion of a Muslim than a gangrenous infection is in consuming the human body.” {PARWEEZA}

INSTIGATE LOVE TO ALLAH

All praise is due to Allah alone, who perfectly controls everything. May He send salutations and exalt the mention of the Warner and the Bringer of Glad Tidings - our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), his family and all his companions.

AFTER THAT,

INSTIGATE LOVE TO ALLAH

One of the attributes of Allah is that He Loves His believing slaves in a fashion which befits His Majesty and Might; His slaves in turn love Him more than their wealth, children and their own selves.

Allah says what means:

"Allah will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him."(Al- Ma'idah:54)

It is mutual love between the Lord and His slaves:

"And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. But those who believe, love Allah more (than anything else)." (Al-Baqarah: 165)

The Ruling on Loving Allah

Loving Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) more than we love our family, our possessions and anything else in this world is a part of being a true believer in Islam.

Anas narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"I swear by The One in Whose Hands is my soul, none of you will be a complete believer until I am dearer to him than his father, his son, and all of mankind." (Bukhari)

Loving Allah is a Sign of Strong Belief

The Prophet (peace be upon him) informed us that it is a quality of belief and a sign of enjoying the sweetness of faith is realized when the love of Allah and His Messenger is greater than that of anyone or anything else. Anas Ibn Malik narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"One who attains the following three things will taste the sweetness of faith: To make Allah and His Messenger more beloved to himself than anything else; to love a person for no other reason except for the sake of Allah; and to hate to return to disbelief just as much as he would hate to be thrown into fire." (Bukhari & Muslim)

Loving Allah is Following the Way of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

Allah says (what means):

"Say (O Muhammad): 'If you (really) love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.'" (Al 'Imran:31)

How much do we truly follow the Prophet (peace be upon him)? Where are we when it comes to following his Sunnah in our worship, transactions and manners? Where are we when it comes to following his Sunnah in our supplications, remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Quran, seeking the assistance of Allah, relying on Him and taking refuge in Him? Where are we when it comes to following his Sunnah by being kind to our friends, neighbor and parents, and when it comes to being generous to guests and visiting the sick? Where are we when it comes to following his Sunnah in our etiquettes, humility, mercy, leniency and forgiveness? Where are we when it comes to following his Sunnah in bravery, wisdom and Jihad against the enemies of Allah everywhere?

The Qualities of Those Whom Allah Loves

To do good: "And do good. Truly, Allah loves the good-doers." (Al-Baqarah:195)

To repent and purify themselves: "Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves."(Al-Baqarah:222)

To be are pious: "Yes, whoever fulfils his pledge and fears Allah much; verily, then Allah loves those who are the pious." (Al 'Imran:76)

To be patient: "But they never lost heart for that which did befall them in Allah's way, nor did they weaken nor degrade themselves. And Allah loves the patient." (Al 'Imran:146)

To rely on Allah: "Then when you have taken a decision, rely on Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who rely on Him." (Al 'Imran: 159)

To be just: "And if you judge, judge with justice between them. Verily, Allah loves those who act justly." (Al-Ma'idah:42)

To be sincere in Jihad: "Verily Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in rows (ranks) as if they were a solid structure." (As-Saff:4)

Beware of Having The Following Qualities

Allah has described in His Book the qualities that we must avoid if we want to one of His believing servants that He loves:

Disbelief: "But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers." (Al 'Imran:32)

Transgression: "And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors." (Al-Baqarah:190)

Mischief-making: "And they (ever) strive to make mischief on the earth. And Allah does not like the mischief-makers." (Al- Ma'idah:64)

Oppression: "But whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is with Allah. Verily, He likes not the oppressors." (Ash-Shoora:40)

Pride and boastfulness: "Verily Allah does not like such as are proud and boastful." (An-Nisa':36)

Betrayal: "And argue not on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Verily, Allah does not like anyone who is a betrayer, sinner." (An-Nisa': 107).

Publicly uttering evil: "Allah does not like that the evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged." (An-Nisa':148)

Extravagance: "Eat and drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allah) likes not those who waste by extravagance." (Al-A'raf:31)

Taking pride and being ungrateful: "Remember when his people said to him: Do not exult (with riches, being ungrateful to Allah). Verily, Allah likes not those who exult (with riches, being ungrateful to Allah)." (Al- Qasas:76)

How to Earn Allah's Love

The true description of attaining Allah's love comes from a Qudsi Hadith,
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said on behalf of his Lord:

"I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshiper of mine. And my servant never comes closer to Me by virtue of anything more than that which I have made compulsory upon him, and my slave continues to draw closer to me by performing optional good deeds until I love him, and if I were to love him I become the hearing by which he hears, the eyesight by which he sees, the hand by which he strikes and the legs by which he walks."(Bukhari & Muslim)

Things Which Instigate Allah's Love

Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, mentioned some examples of things which instigate the love of Allah:

1. Reciting the Quran with attentiveness and pondering over its meanings.

2. Performing optional acts of worship after fulfilling the obligatory ones.

3. Always remembering Allah in the heart, by the tongue and deeds, because one will benefit proportional to the amount that he remembers Allah.

4. Favoring His love over any other love, particularly when your desires become strong.

5. Striving hard to reach that which He loves.

6. Learning and pondering over His qualities and attributes, because the one who learns and ponders over the qualities and attributes of Allah will certainly love Him due to this.

7. Thinking about His apparent and concealed favors and kindness.

8. Supplicating and appealing to Him during the last third of every night, reciting His Book, standing with full servitude before Him and begging for His forgiveness.

9. Being around righteous people who sincerely love Allah and learning the best of what they say, just as one would pick the best fruit from a tree. Also, one should not speak unless one is certain that this is the correct thing to do and that one will benefit by this.

10. Refraining from anything which might become an obstacle between oneself and Allah.

All these can be achieved by being willing to perform them and having insight, which can only happen after the help of Allah.

"Why are we here?"

[ALL PRAISES BE TO ALLAH]

"Why are we here?"

Well, why are we here? To amass fame and fortune? To make music and babies? To be the richest man or woman in the graveyard for, as we are jokingly told, "He who dies with the most toys wins?"
No, there must be more to life than that, so let's think about this. To begin with, look around you. Unless you live in a cave, you are surrounded by things we humans have made with our own hands. Now, why did we make those things? The answer, of course, is that we make things to perform some specific function for us. In short, we make things to serve us. So, by extension, why did God make us, if not to serve Him?

DAWAH SPECIAL EDITION: A sister from the Gulf embraces Islam

Alsalam Alaikum Wa Rahmatu Allah Wa Barakatuh(Peace and blessings by upon you all )

At first I would like to indicate that the situation I ended up in was a natural result of negligence and carelessness. My story started before I was even born, my father is a Muslim from the (Arabian) Gulf, he married my Christian Arabic mother on a condition that she embraces Islam after getting married. My father and mother both got married In a European country –where they had studied-.

After six months of the marriage my mother refused the idea of accepting Islam, therefore my father decided to divorce her for breaking a major condition of their marriage. At that time my mother was pregnant of me, however that didn’t stop the divorce to take place. My mother then went back to here home country where I was born. Soon after, Dad asked her to take me back, but Mom refused for maternal emotions and insisted that I stay with her, Dad accepted her opinion and left me with my Christian mother. As for my dad, my relationship with him was based on his monthly money transfer that he was committed to me, as well as some occasional calls, I was to meet him once every two years or maybe more… even though I was carrying documents stating that I am a Muslim from the Gulf, however, I didn’t know anything about Islam and the Gulf except what I used to take in geography and history classes, or through what I had observed from the Muslims that I used to see in my mother’s country.

How should the Muslim honour his parents

[ALL PRAISES BE TO ALLAH ]
How should the Muslim honour his parents

Allaah has mentioned kind treatment of parents alongside the command to worship Him alone.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents”
[al-Isra’ 17:23]

“Worship Allaah and join none with Him (in worship); and do good to parents…”
[al-Nisa’ 4:36]

This is indicative of the importance of honouring one’s parents and treating them well.

Special edition: Fearing Hypocrisy

[ALL PRAISES BE TO ALLAH]

fear hypocrisy

When a Muslim fears that he may fall into hypocrisy, this indicates that his heart is (spiritually) alive and that he is keen to protect his faith.

Ibraaheem al-Taymi said: "Whenever I examine my words against my deeds, I fear that I am insincere."

 Al-Hasan al-Basri said of hypocrisy:

"No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite."

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
The more faith and knowledge a person has, the more he will fear that he may be among this class of people (i.e., hypocrites), hence the leaders and earliest generations of this ummah were so afraid that they might be among them. ‘Umar used to say to Hudhayfah: I adjure you by Allaah, did the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) mention me along with the people (i.e., the hypocrites)? He said: No, but I would not praise anyone after you, meaning; I would not praise people (by saying that they are not mentioned among the hypocrites). It does not mean that ‘Umar was the only one who was free of hypocrisy. [Tareeq al-Hijratayn (p. 604)]

The greatest of the awliya’ (close friends of Allaah) feared this for themselves.

1 – Ibn Abi Mulaykah said: "I met thirty of the companions of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam), all of whom feared being hypocrites, and none of them ever said that he had faith equivalent to that of Jibreel and Mikaa’eel."

Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
The most prominent among Sahaabah whom Ibn Abi Mulaykah met were: ‘Aa’ishah, her sister Asma’, Umm Salamah, the four ‘Abd-Allaahs, Abu Hurayrah, ‘Uqbah ibn al-Haarith and al-Miswar ibn Makhramah. These are among those from whom he heard hadeeth. He also met other more prominent Sahaabah than these, such as ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib and Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqaas, and he confirmed that they were afraid of hypocrisy in their actions and nothing to the contrary was narrated from any of the Sahaabah, so it is as if there was consensus on this matter. That is because the believers’ deeds may become contaminated with elements that undermine ikhlaas (sincerity towards Allaah). The fact that they feared it does not mean that they fell into it, rather it means that they were extremely cautious and pious, may Allaah be pleased with them. [Fath al-Baari by Ibn Hajar (1/110,111)]

2 – al-Haafiz Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
al-Ja’d Abu ‘Uthmaan said: I said to Abu Raja’ al-‘Attaaridi: Did you meet anyone whom I met of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) who feared falling into hypocrisy? He said: Yes. Praise be to Allaah I met some of the prominent ones among them, and they used to fear it a great deal. And he had met ‘Umar.

3 – and he (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
Among those of the Sahaabah who used to seek refuge with Allaah from falling into hypocrisy were: Hudhayfah, Abu’l-Darda’ and Abu Ayyoob al-Ansaari. Among the Taabi’een there were many who did that. Ibn Sireen said: There is nothing I fear more than this verse (interpretation of the meaning): “And of mankind, there are some (hypocrites) who say: ‘We believe in Allaah and the Last Day,’ while in fact they believe not” [al-Baqarah 2:8]. Ayyoob said: Every verse in the Qur’aan which mentions hypocrisy I fear lest it apply to me. Mu’aawiyah ibn Qurrah said: ‘Umar used to fear it, so how I can feel safe from it? al-Hasan spoke a great deal concerning this matter, as did the imams of Islam after them.

According to a report narrated by Ibn Haani’, Imam Ahmad was asked: What do you say about one who does not fear hypocrisy for himself? He said: Who can feel safe from hypocrisy? [Fath al-Baari by Ibn Rajab (1/178, 179)]

Pay attention to two important matters:

1 – The hypocrisy that was feared by those imams among the Sahaabah and those who came after them was hypocrisy in deeds, which leads to hypocrisy in the heart, which leads one to Hell – we seek refuge with Allah – this is the kind of hypocrisy which is mentioned in a number of ahaadeeth which warn the Muslim against acquiring its characteristics, such as the following:

It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr said: The Messenger of Allaah (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam) said: “There are four characteristics, whoever has them all is a pure hypocrite, and whoever has one of them has one of the characteristics of hypocrisy, until he gives it up: when he speaks he lies, when he makes a covenant he betrays it, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he disputes he resorts to obscene speech.” [Narrated by al-Bukhaari (34) and Muslim (58)]

It was also narrated (2632) by al-Tirmidhi (may Allaah have mercy on him) who said after it:

What this means according to the scholars is hypocrisy of action. It was the hypocrisy of disbelieving at the time of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Something similar was narrated from al-Hasan al-Basri when he said: Hypocrisy is of two types: hypocrisy of action and hypocrisy of disbelief. [End quote]

Al-Haafiz Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
This goes back to what we mentioned above: that hypocrisy may be minor or major. Minor hypocrisy is hypocrisy of action, which is what these people feared for themselves. It leads to major hypocrisy which is feared for the one who is overcome by minor hypocrisy to such an extent that it robs him of faith altogether, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“when they turned away (from the path of Allaah), Allaah turned their hearts away (from the Right Path)” [al-Saff 61:5]

“And We shall turn their hearts and their eyes away (from guidance), as they refused to believe therein for the first time” [al-An’aam 6:110]
Fath al-Baari by Ibn Rajab (1/179)

Imam al-Nawawi commented on this hadeeth … See his Sharh Muslim (2/46-48).

2 – These prominent figures were the most righteous of people in heart, and they were those who most respected the sacred limits and were least likely to transgress them, but because of their great awareness of their Lord and their fear of His wrath, they would regard a minor sin – if they fell into it – as a major sin.

Some of them feared showing off, and others feared falling short in their deeds lest their actions contradict their words, and others thought that being distracted by permissible interactions in their homes with their wives and families even though they focused properly in gatherings of dhikr was a kind of hypocrisy.
It was narrated that Hanzalah al-Usaydi said: Abu Bakr met me and said: How are you, O Hanzalah?

I said: Hanzalah has become a hypocrite.

He said: Subhaan Allaah! What are you saying? I said: When we are with the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam) he reminds us of the Fire and the Garden until it is as if we are seeing them with our own eyes, but when we depart from the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam), we attend to our wives and children and businesses, and we forget a great deal.

Abu Bakr said: By Allaah, we experience something similar. Abu Bakr and I went and entered upon the Messenger of Allaah (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam), and I said: Hanzalah has become a hypocrite, O Messenger of Allaah.

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam) said: “Why is that?” I said: O Messenger of Allaah, when we are with you, you remind us of the Fire and the Garden until it is as if we are seeing them with our own eyes, but when we depart from you, we attend to our wives and children and businesses, and we forget a great deal.

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if you continued as you are when you are with me, and continued to remember (Paradise and Hell), the angels would shake hands with you in your homes and on the streets. But, O Hanzalah, there is a time for this and a time for that” (he said it) three times.[Narrated by Muslim (2750)]

Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
With regard to the words “we attend to our wives and children and businesses”, Al-Harawi and others said: What this means is that we get absorbed with that and get busy with it. “businesses” refers how a man earns a living.

“Hanzalah has become a hypocrite” means: he was afraid that he had become a hypocrite, because he felt the fear of Allaah when he was sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and that was manifested in the way he focused on remembrance of Allaah and thinking of  the Hereafter, but when he departed he became distracted by his wife and children and earning a living in this world, and the basic meaning of hypocrisy is showing the opposite of what one conceals of evil, so he was afraid that he was a hypocrite because of that. But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told him that this was not hypocrisy, and that they were not expected to be like that all the time. “There is a time for this and a time for that.” [Sharh Muslim (17/66, 67)]

Al-Haafiz Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
When it became clear to the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them) that hypocrisy meant a difference between one’s inner thoughts and outward appearance, some of them feared that if they lost the focus and presence of mind they attained when they listened to reminders, after they returned to worldly matters and were distracted by their families and children and wealth, that this was hypocrisy, as was narrated in Saheeh Muslim from Hanzalah al-Asadi … and he quoted the hadeeth –  Fath al-Baari by Ibn Rajab (1/111).

Al-Bukhaari (may Allaah have mercy on him) gave a chapter heading to the report he narrated from Ibraaheem al-Taymi, Ibn Abi Mulaykah and al-Hasan al-Basri – which we have quoted above – saying: Chapter on the believer’s fear that his deeds may be canceled out without him realizing.

And he ended this chapter by saying:

And there is fear for the one who persists in hypocrisy and sin without repenting, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “and do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:135]. End quote.

Al-Haafiz Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
What the words of al-Bukhaari (may Allaah have mercy on him) – And there is fear for the one who persists in hypocrisy and sin without repenting, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “and do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:135] – mean is that if one persists in sin and the various types of hypocrisy without repenting there is the fear that the one who does that may be punished by having his faith taken away altogether, so that he becomes a complete hypocrite and meets a bad end – we seek refuge with Allaah from that – as it is said that sin is the way to kufr. Fath al-Baari by Ibn Rajab (1/181).

Praise be to Allaah the Lord of the Worlds
[Ruling on celebrating the birthday of the Prophet]

Praise be to Allaah the Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and all his family and companions.

The commands mentioned in the Qur’aan and Sunnah to follow the laws of Allaah and His Messenger, and the prohibitions on introducing innovations into the religion are quite clear. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Say (O Muhammad to mankind): ‘If you (really) love Allaah, then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’aan and the Sunnah), Allaah will love you and forgive you your sins’”

[Aal ‘Imraan 3:31]

“Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Qur’aan and Prophet Muhammad’s Sunnah), and follow not any Awliyaa’ (protectors and helpers who order you to associate partners in worship with Allaah), besides Him (Allaah). Little do you remember!”

[al-A’raaf 7:3]

“And verily, this is My straight path, so follow it, and follow not (other) paths, for they will separate you away from His path”

[al-A’naam 6:153]

Mawlid al-Nabi (the Prophet’s birthday) - its ruling with evidences from Quran o Sunnah and logical

[ALL PRAISES BE TO ALLAH]
Mawlid al-Nabi (the Prophet’s birthday)

Why some people accept and some unaccept the celebration of the prophet (saww)?
What is ISLAMIC RULING OF IT?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is nothing in the Qur’aan to say that we should celebrate the Mawlid or birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The Prophet himself (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not do this or command anyone to do it, either during his lifetime or after his death. Indeed, he told them not to exaggerate about him as the Christians had exaggerated about Jesus (upon whom be peace). He said: “Do not exaggerate about me as the Christians exaggerated about the son of Maryam. I am only a slave, so say, ‘The slave of Allaah and His Messenger.’” (Reported by al-Bukhaari). What has been reported is that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) made the day of his birth a day of worship, which is different to celebration. He was asked about fasting on Mondays, and he said: “That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I was entrusted with the Mission or when I was first given Revelation.” (Reported by Muslim, al-Nisaa’i and Abu Dawood).

The Dust will never Settle Down

There has been recently an increase of unacceptable behavior from the kuffar towards our beloved Prophet(Pbuh). So what is the ruling of sharia on such incidents and how did the Sahaba deal with such people and what do our scholars say about them. About this and more Imam Anwar has delivered a talk titled: “The Dust will Never Settle Down”.And Also a Book published (Transcript of the Talk)

The different attributes defined and  assigned by Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam to different time slots are indeed source of inspiration for us.We do Hajj on 9th Zil hajj because it was declared Hajj day by him . We search Lailatul Qadar in odd nights of  last decade of Ramadan because of his guidance .

Hadith is the real source of sunnah .Acts of muslims cannot supercede acts of Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam

Both Quran and Hadith have been transferred through memory and writings generation after generations. The problem with Ghamdi sahib and his followers is that they get information of sunnah from acts of muslim generations where as rest of Ummah get information of sunnah from books of Hadiths like Bukharee Muslim etc and rectify any mistake in actions by comparing them with books of sunnah and hadith .Where as Mr Ghamdi and his followers give authority to acts of muslims and ignore hadiths which are real source of sunnah for us.This mistake is confusing muslim Ummah .This idealogy does not have any roots in Islamic history .How acts of ummatees can supercede sayings actions and permissions of Holy prophet. If Hadith is authentic it cannot be denied or refuted by acts of groups of Muslims. Moreover different groups of Muslims have differences in methods of offereing salah and doing Hajj. How the act of any group can be given peference on acts of other groups all these things will be rectified in light of Sahih hadith? If the human wisdom and acts of Muslims are decisive factor for us than how can we say that Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam is role model for us.The leadership of Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam cannot be challenged and he is the authority and yardstick for us in all affairs of life.

[ALL PRAISES BE TO ALLAH (SWT)]

Mawlid al-Nabi (the Prophet’s birthday)

The sheikh has been asked as in “Fatawa sheikh Mohammad Al Salih Al Othaimeen”,
prepared and organized by Ashraf Abdel Maksoud (1 / 126)

What is the ruling of celebrating the prophet’s birthday?

He answered:

We see that one's faith can't be perfected until he loves the messenger (peace and blessings upon him) and glorifies him with what he should glorify him with, and with what is suitable for him (peace and blessings upon him), and there is no doubt that the sending of the messenger (peace and blessings upon him) and I don't say his birth, but his sending as he wasn't a messenger until he was sent, as people of knowledge have said, he has been informed by Iqra' (Surah Al-'Alaq) and has been sent by Al-Muddaththir (Surah Al-Muddaththir), and there is no doubt that his sending is a benefit to the whole mankind as Allah has said: Say (O Mohammad, peace and blessings upon him) “O mankind!, verily I am sent to you all as the messenger of Allah, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. None has the right to be worshiped but he. It is he who gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and his messenger, the prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Mohammad, peace and blessings upon him), who believes in Allah and his words, and follow him so that you may be guided.” Al-'Araf: 158.

And if he was so, then as a part of our glorification, respect, and politeness towards him, and as a part of taking him as a leader and someone to follow, is not to exceed than the worships he has legislated for us, because the messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) died and there was nothing good for his nation but he has showed it and has ordered us to do, and there was nothing evil for his Ummah, but he has clarified it and warned us from. So, as we believe in him as a leader and someone to follow, we don't have the right to celebrate his birth or his sending, as celebration means happiness, joy, and showing glorification, and all these things are types of worship that get us closer to Allah, so we are not allowed to legislate in worships but what Allah and his messenger has legislated. So, celebrating the birthday is considered innovation, and the prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said: “Every innovation is misguidance.” He has said this is general word, and he (peace and blessings upon him) is the best to know what he says, the most eloquent in what he speaks, and the most advising in what he guides to, there is no doubt in this, and the messenger hasn't excluded anything of the innovations that is not misguidance, and it is well known that misguidance is the opposite of guidance. That's why The Al-Nasa'i reported another narration: “Every misguidance is in hellfire”, therefore if celebrating his birthday (peace and blessings upon him) one of the things liked by Allah and his messenger, then it would have been permissible, and if it was permissible, then it would have been preserved, as Allah has ensured preserving his rulings, and if it was preserved, the guided caliphs, the companions, their followers and those who followed would have left it. Since they haven't done anything of this, it has been know that this is not a part of the religion of Allah, and what I advice the Muslims in general with, is not to avoid such things whose legality haven't been proved neither by the Qur'an nor by the traditions of the messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him), nor in the deeds of the companions, and to pay attention to what is clear in the rulings as known obligatory and preferable deeds, and in it there is sufficiency and reform of the individual and the society.

And if you looked carefully into the conditions of those who are fond of such innovations, you will find them reluctant not only in doing preferable deeds, but also in doing duties and obligations. This is a part from the exaggeration in the prophet (peace and blessings upon him) that is found in these celebrations, that leads to the major shirk (making partners with Allah) which causes one to get outside the religion, and that the messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) have fought people for it, and have made their bloods, money, and property lawful. We hear that there are some poems that are said during these celebrations that surely causes one to get out of the religion, as they repeat the saying of the Busiri:

O the most honored creature, who can I seek for refuge

But you, when a great accident happens to me

If you weren't to take my hand on the day of resurrection

Shaking it, then say “Oh, foot slips!”

Among your generosity are this life and the other one

And among your knowledge is the knowledge of the tablet and the pen

Such attributes are due only to Allah, and I am astonished by who says such words. If he understands what he is saying, then how can he justify saying to the prophet: “Among you generosity is this life and the other one”, and “Among” here is stating that it is part of his generosity, and “the other one” is the hereafter. So, if this life and the one to come is among the generosity of the messenger (peace and blessings upon him), and not all his generosity, then what is left for Allah, for sure, nothing would have been left, neither in this life nor in the hereafter. And also “And among your knowledge is the knowledge of he tablet and the pen”, and “Among” here is stating that it is part of his knowledge, and I don't know what will be left for Allah, if we talked to the messenger (peace and blessings upon him) with such speech.

And wait my Muslim brother... If you fear Allah, then give the messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) the degree Allah has given to him. He is the slave of Allah and his messenger, so say “Slave of Allah, and his messenger”. And believe in what Allah has commanded him to convey to all mankind: Say (O Mohammad, peace and blessing upon him) “I don't tell you that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor (that) I know the unseen; nor that I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me.” Al-An'am: 50, and what Allah has commanded him with when he said: Say (O Mohammad, peace and blessing upon him) “It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to the right path.” Al-Jinn: 21, and in addition to that: Say (O Mohammad, peace and blessing upon him) “None can protect me from Allah's punishment (if I were to disobey him), nor can I find refuge except in him.” Al-Jinn: 22, even if Allah wants to do something to the messenger (peace and blessings upon him), no one can protect him from Allah.

So, the net result of these festivals or celebrations of the prophet's (peace and blessings upon him) birthday, is not just limited to being an innovation in the religion, but also other bad things are added to it and can lead to major shirk.

Moreover, from what we have heard, there is intermixing between men and women, and there is clapping and using Duff (one-sided drum), etc.. and other bad things that no believer can have doubt in condemning them, and we are satisfied with what Allah and his messenger have legislated for us, as in it is the reform of the hearts, countries, and people.

Ruling on smoking the argileh or shisha – and a discussion on its harmful effects

Praise be to Allaah.

Ruling on smoking the argileh or shisha – and a discussion on its harmful effects
Is shisha [water pipe, also known as hookah or hubble-bubble] haraam? What if a person does not use any kind of tobacco; rather he uses rosewater? Is it still haraam?.

Firstly:
There is no doubt that smoking is one of the worst poisons that many people are very keen to consume, not caring about the diseases that it causes, which lead to death in many cases. The World Health Organisation stated, in its 2008 report, that smoking tobacco kills 5.4 million people every year, i.e., approximately 14,000 people every day. Unless urgent measures are taken, tobacco will kill ten million people annually by the year 2020.
In the answer to questions no. 7432 and 10922, we have explained that it is haraam to cultivate, deal in and consume this evil plant.
