Benefits of Imaan

by Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

Real Iman or true faith is such a big blessing from Almighty Allah swt that it cannot be compared with any other blessing of Allah swt .If a person has health ,wealth ,fame and intellect but he lacks faith indeed he is a loser in here after.A real Muslim also termed as Momin should have firm belief in all the pillars of faith .The basic pillars of faith are:

1 Faith in Oneness of Allah

2 Faith in Muhammad salal laho aliehi wasalam as final prophet and messenger

3 Faith in all the prophets of Allah swt

4 Faith in all the angels of Allash swt

5 Faith in all the books revealed by Allah swt

6 Faith in Quran as the final Book

7 Faith in Destiny i.e Takdeer of Allah swt

8 Faith in Day of Judgement

When a person will have firm belief in all these pillars of faith and will be doing righteous deeds to endorse his faith he will be favoured by Allah swt in this life and hereafter. Some of the benefits gained by firm belief are as follows:

1 Peace ful and Blessed Life:

To lead a peaceful life is goal and target of every human being and many people struggle hard to achieve this target but are unable to achieve it due to lack of knowledge and guidance.

Allah swt has made this thing clear in Holy Quran that whoso ever will be a firm believer he will be blessed with a peaceful life .Allah swt says:
Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islâmic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision). (An-Nahl 16:97)

2 Guidance from Allah swt:

Every human being wishes that he should be on right path .Allah swt has made it clear that Allah swt will guide the true believers on right path.Allah swt says:
And verily, Allâh is the Guide of those who believe, to the Straight Path. (Al-Hajj 22:54)

3 Getting love of Human beings

In this material world a person cannot achieve love of human beings easily .Even some times blood relations are not sincere with eachother .But a person with firm belief and righteous deeds succeeds in getting love of human beings.Allah swt says in Holy Quran:

Verily, those who believe [in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger (Muhammad SAW)] and work deeds of righteousness, the Most Beneficent (Allâh) will bestow love for them (in the hearts of the believers). (Maryam 19:96)

4 Friendship and Protection of Allah swt.

The friendship and protection of Allah swt is a great blessing and lucky are those who are able to achieve Friend ship of Allah swt .If Allah is the protector of someone no one can harm that person and indeed he has gained success in this life and hereafter This friendship and protection of Allah swt can only be achieved with the help of firm belief.Allah swt says:

Allâh is the Walî (Protector or Friend) of those who believe. (Al-Baqarah 2:257)

5 Removal of depression and Anxietis:

Current era is the era of depression and anxieties. This anxiety and depression has a damaging affect on humanity and human beings feel them selves isolated and empty due to these psychological problems.Allah swt has made it easy for believers to overcome their depressions and anxieties. With the increase in faith a stage comes when these depressions and anxieties cannot do any harm to a true believer.Allah swt had made it clear in Holy Quran:

No doubt! Verily, the Auliyâ' of Allâh no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve, Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism), and used to fear Allâh much . (Yunus 10:62,63)

6 Opening of Doors of Blessings from Heavens and Earth:
If a person needs provisions and success in this life he needs favour of Allah swt .Allah swt has made it clear in the Holy Quran that He will open doors of blessings for true believers. Allah swt says:

And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwâ (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (polytheism and crimes, etc.). (Al-A'raf 7:96)

7 The Most trustworthy hand hold provided by Allah:

When a person is in trouble he needs some support .If he is provided support in time he is able to overcome that trouble. It is blessing of Allah on true believers that He has provided them the most trustworthy handhold.Allah swt says:
Whoever disbelieves in Tâghût and believes in Allâh, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allâh is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah 2:256)

8 Removal of Darkness:

When a person is facing crisis or some problem he feels as he is engulfed in darkness.Similarly if some one faces confusion on some issue he feels himself in darkness. It is very difficult to overcome dark patches of life but if a person has firm belief in Allah swt .Allah swt takes him out of that darkness.Allah swt says:

Allâh is the Walî (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light. (Al-Baqarah 2:257)

9 Safety from anger and punishment of Allah swt:

The wrath and anger of kings is very dangerous and anger of every king is in accordance with his power and capacity. No one can comprehend the situation when The King of the kings become angry .When Allah swt is angry no one can even think of resisting and tolerating His anger. But it is the blessing of Allah swt on believers that He never punishes them.Allah swt says in the Holy Quran:

Why should Allâh punish you if you have thanked (Him) and have believed in Him. And Allâh is Ever All¬Appreciative (of good), All¬Knowing. (An-Nisa 4:147)

10 Better reward from Allah swt:

It is the tradition of Allah swt that He never ignores the effort and work which is done for His sake.Allah swt has made it clear in the Holy Quran:
And if they had believed, and guarded themselves from evil and kept their duty to Allâh, far better would have been the reward from their Lord, if they but knew! (Al-Baqarah 2:103)

11 Kingdom of this world:

Allah swt is the owner of Kingdom in this world and herafter.Allah swt has promised in Holy Quran that He will bless kingdom of world to those who will have firm belief.Allah swt says:

Allâh has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islâm). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh). (An-Nur 24:55).

Muslims were ruler of the land for more than a thousand year. That was the time when they had firm belief but when they became weaker in their belief they were dominated by others.

12 Success of Hereafter:

The real success is the success of hereafter.Allah swt has made it clear in the Holy Quran :

And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing). (Aali Imran 3:185)

This real success is only achieved by those who are firm in their belief and Allah swt will bless them with this success .Allah swt says:

But those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and do deeds of righteousness, We shall admit them to the Gardens under which rivers flow (i.e. in Paradise) to dwell therein forever. Allâh's Promise is the Truth, and whose words can be truer than those of Allâh? (Of course, none). (An-Nisa 4:122)

On another instance Allah swt says:

"Verily! Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, shall have the Gardens of Al-Firdaus (the Paradise) for their entertainment. "Wherein they shall dwell (forever). No desire will they have to be removed therefrom." (Al-Kahf 18:107,108)

All these benefits can be gained if we have firm belief in pillars of faith.May Allah swt give us taufeeq to have firm belief and we are capable of gaining all these benefits in this life and hereafter Ameen.

Ruling on taking boyfriends or girlfriends

BY  Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid [ISLAMQA]

Don't forget to Share this article after Reading!

Question: I am deeply in love with a Muslim man and want to marry him. I know that Allah forbids girlfriend-boyfriend relationships, and feel very sorry in my heart for our relationship. I feel that because we have been in this relationship which is abhorred by Allah, he will never marry me because he has lost respect for me. What does the Quran say about this?

Praise be to Allaah.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“… Wed them with the permission of their own folk and give them their mahr (dowry) according to what is reasonable; they should be chaste, not adulterous, nor taking boyfriends…” [al-Nisaa’ 4:25]

In his commentary on this aayah, Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“Muhsanaat [translated as “chaste”] means that they should be pure, not indulging in zinaa (unlawful sexual conduct), hence they are described as not being musaafihaat, which means promiscuous women who do not refuse anyone who wants to commit immoral acts with them. Regarding the phrase wa laa muttakhidhaati akhdaan (‘nor taking boyfriends’), Ibn ‘Abbaas said: ‘al-musaafihaat means those who are known to commit zinaa, meaning those who will not refuse anyone who wants to commit immoral acts with them.’ Ibn ‘Abbaas also said: ‘muttakhidhaati akhdaan means lovers.’ A similar interpretation was narrated from Abu Hurayrah, Mujaahid, al-Sha’bi, al-Dahhaak, ‘Ataa’ al-Khurasaani, Yahyaa ibn Abi Katheer, Muqaatil ibn Hayyaan and al-Saddi. They said: (it means) lovers. Al-Hasan al-Basri said: ‘It means a (male) friend.’ Al-Dahhaak also said: ‘wa laa muttakhidhaati akhdaan also means a woman who has just one boyfriend or lover with whom she is happy. Allaah has also forbidden this, meaning marrying her so long as she is in that situation…’”

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Made lawful to you this day are al-tayyibaat [all kinds of halaal (lawful) foods…]. The food of the People of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before your time, when you have given their due mahr (bridal money given by the husband to the wife at the time of marriage), desiring chastity (i.e., taking them in legal wedlock), not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girlfriends. And whosoever disbelieves in the Oneness of Allaah and in all the other Articles of Faith, the fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.” [al-Maa’idah 5:5]

Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“Muhsineen ghayr musaafiheen wa laa muttakhidhi akhdaan (‘desiring chastity (i.e., taking them in legal wedlock), not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girlfriends’). Just as Allaah imposed the condition of chastity on women, meaning that they refrain from zinaa, so it is also imposed on men. The man must also be pure and chaste. So they should be ghayr musaafiheen, meaning they should not be adulterers who do not refrain from sin and do not refuse any who come to them (for immoral purposes). Nor should they be muttakhidhi akhdaan, meaning those who have girlfriends or female lovers with whom they have an exclusive relationship, as quoted above from Soorat al-Nisaa’. (The one with many lovers or the one with just one lover) are both the same. For this reason Imaam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (may Allaah have mercy on him) said that it is not right to marry a promiscuous woman unless she has repented, or to arrange a marriage of such a woman to a chaste man, so long as she is still conducting herself in this manner. Similarly, he (Ahmad) says that it is not right for a promiscuous man to marry a chaste woman unless he repents and gives up his immoral conduct, because of this aayah… We will discuss this matter in further detail after quoting the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):
“Let no man guilty of fornication or adultery marry any but a woman similarly guilty, or an unbeliever: nor let any but such a man or an unbeliever marry such a woman: to the Believers such a thing is forbidden.” [al-Noor 24:3]

Among the stories that show that it is forbidden to have girlfriends or to marry them is the story of Marthad ibn Abi Marthad, who used to smuggle Muslim prisoners-of-war from Makkah to Madeenah. There was a prostitute in Makkah, called ‘Anaaq, who had been a friend of Marthad’s. Marthad had promised to take one of the prisoners from Makkah to Madeenah. He said: “I came to the shade of one of the gardens of Makkah on a moonlit night, then ‘Anaaq came and saw my shadow by the garden. When she reached me, she recognized me and said: ‘Marthad?’ I said, ‘Marthad.’ She said: ‘Welcome! Stay with us tonight.’ I said, ‘O ‘Anaaq, Allaah has forbidden zinaa (unlawful sexual relations)’ … I came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and asked him, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, should I marry ‘Anaaq?’ The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) remained silent and did not answer me at all, until the aayah ‘Let no man guilty of adultery or fornication marry any but a woman similarly guilty, or an Unbeliever; nor let any but such a man or an Unbeliever marry such a woman; to the Believers such a thing is forbidden’ [al-Noor 24:3 – Yusuf ‘Ali’s translation] was revealed. Then the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘O Marthad, Let no man guilty of adultery or fornication marry any but a woman similarly guilty, or an Unbeliever; nor let any but such a man or an Unbeliever marry such a woman, so do not marry her.’”

(Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 3101; he said: it is a hasan ghareeb hadeeth).

‘Abd-Allaah ibn Maghfal reported that there was a woman who had been a prostitute during the days of ignorance (before Islam). A man passed by her, or she passed by him, and he touched her. She said: “Stop it! (Mah! A word connoting a rebuke or denunciation). Allaah has done away with shirk and had brought Islam.” So he left her alone and went away, still looking at her, until he walked into a wall, hitting his face. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and told him what had happened.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“You are a man for whom Allaah wishes good. When Allaah, may He be blessed and exalted, wishes good for His slave, He hastens the punishment for his sin, so that it is dealt with before the Day of Resurrection.”

(Reported by al-Haakim, 1/349, who said this hadeeth is saheeh according to the conditions of Muslim, and al-Dhahabi agreed with him. See Saheeh al-Jaami’, 308).

These aayaat and ahaadeeth clearly indicate that it is haraam (forbidden) for men to have any kind of friendship or relationship with non-mahram women (women to whom they are not closely-related and to whom they could get married). The evil consequences and misery caused by such relationships are obvious to anyone who observes real life. A similar question has been asked under #2085. We ask Allaah to keep us far away from that which is forbidden, to protect us from all that may earn His wrath and to keep us safe from a painful punishment. May Allaah bless our Prophet Muhammad.

Smoking is Haram (prohibited) due to its many harmful effects and bad consequences. This is a well-known generally accepted fact. No one could doubt or refute this truth. Harms of smoking have been proved through evidence that doctors have agreed upon. Tobacco used for smoking is bad whereas Almighty Allah made lawful for his slaves all the good and useful and forbade what is bad and harmful.

Obstacles in way of following Quran and Sunnah

by Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

Quran and Sunnah are the two documents which are indeed essential for success in this life and hereafter. But Unluckily we have been detracted from right path due to some of the following reasons proved from Quran and sunnah

1 Blind following of leaders and religious scholars

2 Blind following of forefathers

3 Bad company of misguided friends

4 Following desires and instincts and thus tampering clear commands to fulfill desires

5 Fear of damages from elites and ruling class

6 To think Deen is outdated

7 Greed of wealth and offices

8 Fear of resistance from tribes and society

9 More love of relatives and wealth compared to Allah and His Rasool (p.b.u.h)

10 Prejudice of group and party

11 Fear of being insulted and mocked by others

12 Disbelief in Creator and Day of Judgement

Advantages Of Spending In Way Of Allah Swt

by Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

Allah swt has blessed many human beings with wealth and provision .No one can be rich due to his hardwork and struggle alone.Allah swt has made it clear that those people who think they have earned money due to their talent are victims of misconceptions Allah swt says:

When harm touches man, he calls to Us (for help), then when We have (rescued him from that harm and) changed it into a favour from Us, he says: "Only because of knowledge (that I possess) I obtained it." Nay, it is only a trial, but most of them know not! (Az-Zumar 39:49)

The provision of every living being is in Hands of Allah swt and Allah swt says:

And no (moving) living creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allâh. And He knows its dwelling place and its deposit (in the uterous, grave, etc.). all is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz - the Book of Decrees with Allâh). (Hud 11:6)

Many people think that their provisions and income are in the hands of their boss and customers where as Allah swt says in Holy Quran:

And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. (Adh-Dhariyat 51:22).

So when every thing given to us is with the grace of Allah swt than we should not be reluctant to spend our money in His ways .We will be favoured and blessed by Allah swt if we will spend in His ways provided that our intention is to please Him and we donot seek fame and other worldly benefit from this righteous act .

Some of the advantages of spending money in way of Allah swt are as follows:

1 Elimination of Depression:

Allah swt has made it clear in Holy Quran that He will take away depression of those who spend frequently in ways of Allah swt.Allah swt says in Holy Quran:
Those who spend their wealth (in Allâh's Cause) by night and day, in secret and in public, they shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Al-Baqarah 2:274)

2 Increase in Provisions

It is the general mentality that when we spend in way of Allah swt we think that our wealth is decreasing but it is not the case.Whenever we spend in the way of Allah swt He opens new venues of income for us .Allah swt says:
And whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allâh's Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers." (Saba' 34:3)

On another instance He says :
that which you give in Zakât seeking Allâh's Countenance then those, they shall have manifold increase. (Ar-Rum 30:39)

3 Elimination of Sins:

Sins are major cause of our problems and all of us need to purify ourselves from sins.If we will be purified many of our problems will be resolved. When we spend in the way of Allah swt it results in the elimination of our sins Allah swt has commanded prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam in the Holy Quran that He should take Sadaqah from believers so that they are purified .Allah swt says:

Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it (At-Tawbah 9:103)

4 Better Return On The Day Of Judgement:

The above mentioned advantages were related to the worldly life where as the advantages of hereafter are beyond comprehension. Allah swt has told us about the reward of the person spending in His way .Allah swt says:
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allâh, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allâh gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah 2:261)

May Allah swt give us toufeeq to spend in His way and we are able to get all those favours and blessings which are result of this righteous deed Ameen.

Reality of Wahdatul Wujood

by Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer
The concept of Wahdatulwujood is not proved from Quran and Sunnah of prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam and this ideology is introduced in Muslims due to affect of Hinduism and pre Christ Greek theology.Philosophy of Wahdatul wujood says that Allah swt manifests Himself in His every creation .So ultimately the result is that every creation is actually a part and parcel of Allah swt .Or every creation is reflection of Allah swt.The negative outcome of this philosophy is that every false god is also accepted as Allah swt and this results in wrong concept of unification of religions also termed as wahdatul Adyan. This concept is also sometimes listened and found in poetry of some Qawwals with the words like" You are in Masjids you are in Temples you are in jungles" and so on.Prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam introduced concept of Tauheed which states that Allah is independent and seperate from His creations and Tauheed does not say that there is no being except Allah but Tauheed says there is no one to be worshipped besides Allah .If we believe in concept of Wahdatul wujood what was the need of refutation of worshipping of

1 Idols
2 Jesus Christ
3 Angels
4 Graves
5 Heavenly Organisms
6 Dualism

Oneness of Allah swt in Islam does not mean that He is the only being in universe but it means that He is the only Ilah [GOD] and provider in the universe and no one can be invoked and worshiped besides Him. Lets look how the attribute Wahid (One) of Allah has been used in Holy Quran. In Surah Yousaf Allah swt says that Yousaf aliehis salam while preaching his companions in prison said:

Are many different lords (gods) better or Allâh, the One, the Irresistible? (Yusuf 12:39)

This verse proves that issue of dispute was not that there is one being but issue of dispute was that He is The only Lord

Similarly in Surah Nahal Allsh swt says:

And Allâh said (O mankind!): "Take not ilâhaîn (two gods in worship, etc.). Verily, He (Allâh) is (the) only One Ilâh (God). Then, fear Me much [and Me (Alone), i.e. be away from all kinds of sins and evil deeds that Allâh has forbidden and do all that Allâh has ordained and worship none but Allâh]. (An-Nahl 16:51)

This verse once again proves that Allah swt demands from His creations that they should take Him as only Ilah and does not demand that they should take him as the only being

In Surah Momin Allah swt says that on the day of judgement He will say:

Whose is the kingdom this Day? (Allâh Himself will reply to His Question): It is Allâh's the One, the Irresistible! (Ghafir 40:16)

This verse proves that issue will not be that Allah will be the only being on day of judgement but the issue will be that kingdom of that day belongs to Him only

Similarly in Surah Sad Allah swt says that mushrikeen were objecting Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam by saying:

Has he made the âliha (gods) into One Ilâh (God - Allâh). Verily, this is a curious thing!" (Sad 38:5)

This verse proves that mushrikeen had objection that why Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam was presenting concept of One Ilah and was refuting concept of multiple Ilahs

Some of the scholars try to justify this concept by saying that universe is nothing compared to Allah swt. This taweel is not acceptable because even if some things are negligible compared to some other beings it does not make smaller things part of the bigger things. For example ant is nothing compared to an elephant but it does not make ant a part of elephant.

Allah swt has always discussed Himself as seperate being when He discusses His creations.Allah swt says in Surah Mujadilah:

Have you not seen that Allâh knows whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth? There is no Najwa (secret counsel) of three, but He is their fourth, nor of five but He is their sixth not of less than that or more, but He is with them wheresoever they may be; and afterwards on the Day of Resurrection, He will inform them of what they did. Verily, Allâh is the All-Knower of everything. (Al-Mujadilah 58:7)

This verse is clear indicator that creations are separate entities from creator.May Allah guide us all to the right path ameen

Men resembling women & women resembling men, in dress, speech & appearance

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Part of the fitrah (natural inclinations of mankind) is that men should preserve the masculinity which Allaah has created in them, and women should preserve the femininity which Allaah has created in them. Without this, decent human life becomes impossible. Men resembling women and vice versa is something which goes against man's innate nature (fitrah) and opens the door to corruption and widespread promiscuity. The ruling in sharee'ah is that when it is stated that the person who does a thing is cursed, that thing is haraam. Ibn 'Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Allaah has cursed the men who make themselves look like women and the women who make themselves look like men." (Reported by al-Bukhaari; see al-Fath, 10/332). Ibn 'Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) also reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Allaah has cursed effeminate men and masculine women." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, see al-Fath, 3\10/333). The resemblance may be in the way they move, walk and speak.

Similarly, the two sexes are not permitted to resemble one another in dress or by wearing anything that is specifically for the other sex. So a man is not permitted to wear necklaces, bracelets, anklets or earrings, etc., as is widespread among hippies and the like. Women are not permitted to wear things that are specifically for men, like the thawb (long garment worn by men in Arab countries), shirts, etc.; whatever she wears should be different in style, details and colour. The evidence that the two sexes should not resemble one another in dress is found in the hadeeth narrated by Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him): "Allaah has cursed the man who wears women's clothes and the woman who wear men's clothes." (Reported by Abu Dawud, 4/355; see also Saheeh al-Jaami', 5071).

I AM A MODERATE MUSLIM

I don’t pray 5 times a day
only jumuah is enough for me
I don’t fast the full thirty
Five is how many I do

Yes I drink
But only in moderation
I don’t get drunk or puke up in the loo
Yes I am a moderate Muslim

I check out the fit women
But only one at a time
I don’t sleep with them
Coz that’s extreme
I only date them, hug them, hold hands and kiss them.
Coz everything in moderation right?

I take drugs
But only class C ones
Avoid the hard ones
Coz only the fanatics do that

A moderate Muslim is the label I have given myself
Coz I can’t leave Islam
Coz it’s the truth
Can’t be an atheist or secular humanist
So I reconcile my Islam
To please the westerners

By compromising
And trying oh so very hard to fit in

My name is Mohsin Mulla
But to all and sundry I am Mo
During lunch and after work
Off to the pub I go
A few bevies
Nothing to heavy
Every weekday
Except for Fridays
Coz that’s a holy day

Despite all my compromises of my Islam
I cannot find any peace of mind or satisfaction in my heart
I feel guilty and ashamed
Feelings of nausea and self hate
My mind is in conflict and I find myself asking a question
Maybe to this you can relate

The question is:

If you’re convinced of Islam then why follow it in moderation?

Should you not follow it completely and fundamentally?

Despite what the non-Muslims think or say

Coz who are they to tell us how we should follow the truth

When they are lost and following the misguidance.

And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) even after guidance has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers’ way, We shall leave him in the path he has chosen, and land him in Hell,- what an evil destination !!" Surah An Nisaa 115 !!

The Story of the Bulls (MUST READ)

Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Ubbay ibn Ka?ab (may Allah be pleased with him), ?What is the meaning of Taqwa?? Ubbay ibn Ka?ab said, ?O Amir ul Mu?minin, have you walked on a field that had a lot of thorny plants?? Umar said, ?Yes? Ubbay ibn Ka?ab said, ?So what did you do?? Umar replied, ?I lifted up my clothes and I was very careful,? Ubbay ibn Ka?ab said, ?That is Taqwa.?

We are walking on a field that is full of thorny plants. Shaytan and his followers will try to seduce you and invite you to Evil. So having Taqwa in Dunya is lifting up your clothes and being careful, so that you would not touch this evil. And that is the definition of Taqwa and we ask Allah to make us of those of al- Muttaqeen.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, there?s a famous Story (parable) that I will go through, you may have herd it before, but there are some very important lessons we can learn from it. The story goes like this:

?There were four Cows. One of them was white and the other three were black. They used to live in a dangerous area surrounded by wolves. The way they protected themselves was that they were always together, they would stick together, watch out for each other, everyone was keeping an attentative eye, and they survived, even though the area was surrounded by wild beasts.

But the three black cows had a meeting one day. And they said, ?This white cow is giving us away. When we try to hide at night, because we are black no one can see us, but the enemy is able to see the white cow, so why don?t we just let him go. The three of us will be together and let?s just let the white cow go away because he is just too much trouble.? So now from that day on, the three black cows would be on one side and the poor white cow is alone. They boycotted the white cow.

Now the wolf is very intelligent. He was able to detect the disunity that was amongst these cows. So he made his move and he attacked the white cow, and while he was devouring his flesh, the three black cows were doing nothing. They were watching it, while their brother was being torn into pieces!

But the following night, the wolf attacked the three black cows, why? Because now there were one cow short. So they were not as strong as they were the day before. Because they let down their brother white cow, now the wolf attacked them and was able to snatch away one of the black cows. And now we only have two left.

So the following night, it was an even easier thing for the wolf because only two are left, so he ate one of them. And then on the final night there was only one cow left and the cow was trying frantically to run away from the wolf, but now the cow has no supporter and no helper. So the wolf is pursing it with confidence and he knows this cow will get tired and fall down, there?s nothing the cow could do. Nobody to help him, so the wolf is walking around very happily with confidence, and he pounced at the cow and grabbed him by the neck, and while he did that and the cow was pronouncing his last words, he made a very important statement, a statement that is a great lesson that we can learn from. This black cow said, (while he was dying), ?I was eaten, the day the white cow was eaten. I had signed on my execution form, the day I allowed the white cow to be eaten, that?s when I died. I didn?t die now, I didn?t die today?I died when I allowed the wolf to eat the white cow?

Now brothers and sisters I?m sure some of you have already derived some lessons out of this story. I will now go through some of them Insha?Allah

Lesson 1: The Ummah

This story is a good representation of the situation of the Muslim Ummah today. This is exactly what is happening. We are watching one Muslim nation fall one after another, and we are watching, sitting back, doing nothing. When Palestine was taken, we did nothing. And then one nation after another is falling into problems; you have Kashmir, you have Chechnya, the Muslims in the Philippines, and now we have Iraq, and the Ummah is doing nothing. The Ummah is watching, while Iraq is being devoured. It?s not going to end there, because it?s going to spill over to other countries like Syria and only Allah knows who is next! So those nations weren?t taken today, they were taken along time ago. When we allowed a Muslim nation to fall down, we have allowed the same thing to happen to each and every one of us.

Lesson 2: Unity

This shows us the consequences of having disunity. When these cows didn?t stick together, when the allowed the enemy to snatch one of them away, this is what happened to them, they were all defeated. Dear brothers and sisters, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had given an analogy of the Ummah, Nu'man b. Bashir reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: ?The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.? [Sahih Muslim, Book 032, Number 6258]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) is saying, if your finger is injured or your foot is injured, any part of the body is injured and you feel that pain, you cannot sleep! And your body develops a fever because your body is trying to fight the bacteria inside the infection. It?s trying to fight the enemy so the whole body gets involved in that process. That is the description the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave of the Ummah.

So if a Muslim, in the East, or in the West, or South or North, whether if it?s in the centre of the body or the tips, where it?s on the finger or the toes, you should feel the same pain as if it is happening to you own family. If you are only concerned about your own safety and the safety of your direct family, then there?s something wrong. You are not really part of the body. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is saying the Ummah is one body, it doesn?t matter if they are split into different political states or if they are in different groups, or if they belong to different Madhahabs, as long as this person is a Muslim; and a Muslim is a person who has a sound belief in Allah, somebody who is not deviant, that?s a Muslim.

The thing is that sometimes we look at it as, ?Only me and my group are Muslim?, Why? Because he doesn?t follow my Jamaa?h, he?s not following my way. As long as you cannot prove that that Muslim is a Kaffir, he?s a Muslim. As long as you don?t have evidence, that such a person is a Murtad (Apostate), he is a Muslim; whether he belongs to the same Madhhab or the same group or the same country, it doesn?t make a difference.

Now we all talk about the importance of having Unity. If we talking about having Unity in terms of having one Group and just abandoning all these different Jamaa?ts and we get ride of all of these different Madhahabs and we?ll all just be copies of each other, that?s an impossible thing to have. What we mean by Unity is that even though your approach to Islamic work might be different, the Madhhab that you follow might be different, however, you are there to help you brother when your brother is in need, that is Unity. You could have different approaches to work, you could be doing different things, because we need different things, the Ummah needs everything today. We have a short coming and deficiency in each and every area, therefore we need Muslims to fill those posts, and therefore our approach would be different. Some people are into Da?wah, some people will be into seeking ?Ilm (Islamic Knowledge), some people will be into ?Ibadaah (Worship), people are different. Not everybody can be a copy of everyone else.

People have different abilities. Some people make good scholars, some people make good Imams, some people make good teachers and some people make a good advisor. People are different. Some people, they are good at doing work, they are not really into talking and theory, they are good at doing the daily work that the Muslims need. Everybody is fulfilling a role. And we need to appreciate that. So what is ment by Unity, it means when your brother is in need, you jump to help him, that is Unity. Regardless of what his ideology is as long as he is a Muslim. That is Unity.

So we have to fulfil the meaning of the hadith, that the Ummah is, ??one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches?? You need to feel the pain and suffering when you see what is happening to your brothers and sisters in other parts of the world. You need to be concerned about what is happening in Palestine and Iraq. You need to be concerned with what is happening in Kashmir, even though it is not you country. And some of these Muslim countries have problems among them, they have wars, they have political problems, but as a Muslim, it shouldn?t make a difference to you. These governments are having problems with each other, but that nation, the Muslims in there are my brothers (and sisters). That?s how you should look at it. So we should have that concern for the Muslim Ummah. The one that is not concerned about the Muslims doesn?t belong to them.

Narrated 'Abdullah: The Prophet said, "Everyone will be with those whom he loves." [Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 73, Number 189] You will be with the people you love on the day of Judgement. If you have love for the Muslims, you will be with the Muslims on the day of judgement. If you have love for the Kuffar, you will be with the Kuffar on the day of Judgement, that?s how it works. That?s the Justice of Allah. Somebody who loves the Muslims, will be with the Muslims, and will follow them wherever they will go. And that?s why on the Day of Judgement, the Prophet (peace be upon him said, ?Allah will tell the people, ?Follow the Gods you used to worship.?? So whoever used to worship the cross will follow the cross, and whoever used to worship an idol will follow that idol. Allah is telling them, if you didn?t worship me, you can?t expect me to give you the Rewards. Go to your gods and tell them to reward you on this day. And then Allah will take all of the false gods and throw them in Hell fire, and there people will have to follow them. Because Allah is just, u did it for Him, He will reward you, but if you did it for somebody else, you go and ask the reward from the other god. And there is No god besides Allah.

Lesson 3: The consequences of betrayal. The consequences of forsaking a Muslim.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection . " [Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 43, Number 622 and Volume 9, Book 85, Number 83; Sahih Muslim, Book 032, Number 6250] The three cows in the story handed the white cow over to the enemy.

Now by doing this, they thought they are securing themselves. They thought they would be safe if they handed over this white cow. This white cow was out spoken, it was causing a lot of trouble, it was being accused of being a terrorist, so let him go, we don?t want anything to do with him. Let him go to jail. But the thing is they don?t realise that it will come to you next. You will be next in line. So brothers, if you want to protect yourselves, now we are not talking about doing anything for your brothers that are down, if you want to protect yourself you need to stop that. You need to stop such things from happening, because as soon as you allow one Muslim to be taken, Allah does not help you anymore. You loose the assistance of Allah. ??Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection??If you work to help your Muslim brothers who are in need, Allah will help you when you are in need in the day of judgement.

Now all of us know that we cannot make it alone. Without the help and assistance of Allah, we cannot go anywhere. If you want the assistance of Allah to be on your side, Jump to the assistance of your brother. That?s how you will protect yourself. If you let him (your Muslim brother) down, don?t think that will please you enemy, no! It won?t! They enemy will carry on. Take it as a rule, Shaytan will never be satisfied, will never be happy, until he is able to destroy the entire Ummah. Nothing will satisfy Shaytan. If you try to please him by all means, it?s not going to work. He has been our enemy since the time of Adam and he will carry on being our enemy until the time of the Day of Judgement. Don?t think that you will please him and keep him quiet, by feeding him one of your brothers. No! His hunger is never satisfied. His thirst is never quenched.

If we betray or forsake a Muslim who is in need today, be assured that Allah will forsake us tomorrow. And brothers and sisters, for you who are living in the west, you are living in a dilemma, your children are brought up in a non-Islamic environment and you?re not going to be around, you?re going to die?one day you are going to die and leave them behind. And only Allah knows what their fate will be, possibly they could grow up and become non Muslims, that?s a possibility. We ask Allah that none of our children go astray from the Straight Path, but the thing is that you need to invest for the future of your children. You need to invest something for them, to ensure they will carry on, on the straight path. You don?t want to be held accountable on the Day of Judgement and Allah is telling you, ?You are the ones who brought your families to this Land, therefore you are responsible for what they do in the future. And you will be responsible for generations after generations that come.? So you want to invest for your children. And the way you do that, is by standing up for your brother who is in need of help. Allah will be there for you and will be there for your children.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said in the hadith of Ibn Abbas, ?If you take care of the command of Allah, Allah will take care of you (and you will find Allah with you).? And how does that happen? Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali explains the hadith. He says:

i) If you take care of Allah, Allah will take care of you by keeping you away from vain desires and doubts in Imaan (Belief);

ii) If you take care of the commands of Allah when you are young, Allah will take care of you in you old age;

iii) If you take care of the commands of Allah, Allah will take care of your children.

And Ibn Rajab gives an example of the Last one. He talks about the Story of Musa and al-Khidr. [The full story can be found here : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Islam_True/message/107] Allah says in Quran, ?Then they both (Musa and al-Khidr) proceeded, till, when they came to the people of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them. Then they found therein a wall about to collapse and he (Khidr) set it up straight. [Mûsa (Moses)] said: If you had wished, surely, you could have taken wages for it!"? (Al-Kahf 18:77) Then Al-Khidr explains why he fixed the wall for free, "And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the town; and there was under it a treasure belonging to them; and their father was a righteous man, and your Lord intended that they should attain their age of full strength and take out their treasure as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of those (things) over which you could not hold patience." (Al-Kahf 18:82)

So Allah took care of the orphans because there father were righteous. These orphans were not old enough to be held accountable, so we could not have known if they were going to be righteous or not, but the reason why Allah put the treasure there was because their father was a righteous man. And the father had already passed away, so Allah was taking care of that mans kids. And Allah sent al-Khidr all the way just to fix that wall, why? This was because their father was a righteous man. So not only will take care of them when you are alive, but he will take care of them after you pass away, what?s better then that?! Therefore we need to be taking care of the Commands of Allah, and don?t think by ducking down you will be safe, you will not, you will be next.

Now dear brothers and sisters, we talked about this issue in general, however some specific in you city, in your own neighbourhood, we are not talking about things that are happening in Iraq or Palestine or somewhere else. In your own city and this country, many Muslims have been arrested. You know when you talk about Guantanamo bay and all that stuff; there is a Guantanamo bay in this country. There were 524 Muslims who were arrested under the new laws and only 2 of them have been charged. You have over 520 Muslims who are locked up in Jail, and are left to rot in there, and they haven?t committed any crime and there no charges brought against them. They are left there in just months on end, to rot there in the prison cells. What have you done for them? Your North African brothers who have nobody to help them in this country, and the Muslim community is not doing anything for them and they are left there, years at end.

One brother was telling me about the conditions of his family; these are poor brothers and sisters, their families are left without any caretakers, and they are suffering poverty, and no one is doing anything for them. And recently there have been some British citizens who were arrested; later on they were released because there was nothing against them. And one of them, he was beaten up by police, when they arrested him, and he did not resist at all, he raised up his hands and the police came in and started beating him up. And then what did they do? After he was bleeding and had a black eye and blood was coming from his ears and urine, the police put him in the posture of sujood and they told him, ?Where is you God now?? Insult to Islam, insult to our religion, insult to our Ummah, you need to do something; you can?t just sit there and watch. This is an insult to our religion, it?s not just an insult to the brother, and it?s an insult to Islam. You putting someone in sujood and telling him where is you god? Allahu Akbar, you are trying to challenge Allah? Allah is Just and Allah will revenge for himself. Allah does not need us. But the thing is that we can?t allow such things to happen and we watch.

You just sit there watching and doing nothing. Thinking by ducking down and being quiet, we will be safe. If you don?t stop it now, it could happen to you, it could happen to your wife, it could happen to your own daughter. You need to stop it in its tracks before it grows. So you need to do whatever you are capable of doing. It?s a responsibility that?s hanging on your neck, its something that you owe to your Muslim brothers, you owe to the Ummah and you owe to Allah. You know you don?t think that our religion is just you talk about theoretical things and we stay away from what is happening to the Ummah. That is why the Muslims in Spain, lost Spain. Al-Makari, who was a classical Muslim historian, said (and this was while the Muslim towns were falling down) , ?The Muslim towns were being invaded by the crusaders by town after another and they were falling one after another and you can walk into the mosques of Andalus and you can hear nothing about what?s happening to the Muslims. Nobody talks about it in the Khuthbah, no body talks about it in the lessons, nothing! The scholars are talking about theoretical things and they are leaving the Ummah, and the Ummah is being betrayed.?

Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi, the famous scholar from Andalus, was so frustrated and fed up of the situation of the scholars and the imams of al-Andalus, he said, ?Do not be deceived by these Fusaaq (corrupt people), who claim to be scholars while they are wearing the skins of sheep on hearts of wolves.? He said what are they doing? They are doing nothing for the Ummah. The Ummah is falling down, the Ummah is being fought against, and the land of al-Andalus is being invaded and they are talking about some other issues.

So we need to stand up, we need to immobilise, we need to unify, we need to stand up and make our voice herd and this is an Ibadaah; it is an Ibadaah you are doing. You are worshipping Allah by assisting your brothers. And Allah will save it for you, in Dunya and you will be rewarded in Akhira (the Hereafter). And you are going to need it because the Ummah is going through fitan (Trials and Tribulations), each and every one of us is going through fitan. We ask Allah to protect us, to protect our families, and to protect our descendants?Ameen

And It is Only Allah Who grants success. May Allah Exalt th mention of His slave and Messenger Muhammad, and render him, his household and companion safe from Evil

Avoiding wrong actions with patience

Al-Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim -rahimahullaah- said [1],
“Patience in abstaining from wrong action can be achieved through the fear of the punishment which follows the wrong action, or through a feeling of hayaa’ (shyness or shame) before Allaah -subhaanah wa ta’aalaa- for using His blessings in committing wrong actions."

That feeling of hayaa’ before Allaah -subhaanah wa ta’aalaa- can be strengthened through learning more about Allaah -‘azz wa jall- and knowing more about His Names and Attributes.

Al-Hayaa’ is a characteristic of people who are noble and possess good qualities, so the person who refrains from wrong action because of hayaa’ is better than the one who abstains because of fear.

Al-Hayaa’ indicates that a person is mindful of Allaah -subhaanah wa ta’aalaa- and His Might. The person whose deterrent is the fear of Allaah -subhaanah wa ta’aalaa- has his thoughts focused on the punishment. The fearful person’s main concern is himself and how to save himself from the punishment, whereas the “shy” person’s main concern is Allaah -‘azz wa jall- and His Glory.

Both have attained the status of Eemaan, but the “shy” person has attained Al-Ihsaan, a higher status of Eemaan, in which he conducts himself as if he can see Allaah -‘azz wa jall-, and so his heart is filled with hayaa’.

The reason why it is so important for a believer to abstain from wrong action is because he must protect his Eemaan, as wrong action decreases Eemaan or extinguishes it.

The best way to help oneself abstain from wrong action is to break all bad habits, and forsake all those who encourage one to commit wrong actions. Habits have a strong hold over man’s behaviour, and if habit is accompanied by desires, this means that there are two soldiers of Ash-Shaytaan fighting the motives of reason and religion, which cannot then withstand them.”

A Tribute To Great Daughter Of Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam Syeda Fatima Radi Allahu Anha

By Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

Syeda Fatimah radi Allahu anha is one of the greatest women of the universe. This great woman was the youngest and most beloved daughter of Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam. When Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam was facing problems due to Dawah of tauheed in Makkah she felt alot of pain on the opposition of Kuffars and tried to console her great father on his problems. Many times she argued with kuffars on their opposition and asked them why they were opposing him when he had not caused any damage to them.

When she grew up prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam married her with his first cousin Ali radi Allahu anhu . She led a simple and modest life with his great and brave husband. She was a hard worker and used to bring water from a well at a long distance from her home and used to crush wheat with her own hands .This hard work brought rashes to her hands and neck .She was however satisfied with the fate of Allah swt and was never ungrateful towards her husband.

Once she got information that prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam had got some salves .She approached her and told her about her circumstances.Prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam refused to give her slaves and told her that he could not favour his family with the resources of the state and told her that these slaves were Imanah of Muslims. Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam was however in pain at the poverty of her daughter and reached her home consoled her and advised her to recite SubhanAllah ,Allahu Akbar and Alhamdolillah 33 times before going to sleep .He salal laho aliehi wasalam told her that this zikar would be bette for her than a slave to serve her family. She kept in mind the advice of her father and never left that zikar in her life.

Prophet salal laho aliehi waslaam used to visit and welcome her with great love and she had reflection of his great father in her personality.Ummul momineen Syeda Ayesha radi Allahu anha narrated “ I have not seen any one who resembled more than Fatimah to Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam in his/her looks and habits .”

It was due to the simplicity and piety of Fatimah radi Allahu anha that she was foretold by prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam that she would be leader of women in Jannah. She gave birth to two great sons syedna Hassan and Hussain radi Allahu anhuma .The piety of these two great sons was indeed the result of the attention paid to them by their great mother .Fatimah radi Allahu anha was foretold by Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam that she would be the first one from his family to join him in Jannah. When prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam passed away she was in severe pain and said that “I am under burden of such problems that if they were faced by days they would have turned into nights.”She could not survive for long after death of Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam and after few months of his death departed from this world.

The most important attribute of her personality is her modesty and her love for Niqab and Hijab. Before her death she advised her great husband syedna Ali al murtaza radi Allahu anhu that she was shy and scared that how she would be lying on her death bed after her death. She asked him to burry her during night and put some sticks on her body and asked him to put blanket on those sticks so that people could not know about her body even after her death.

Muslim women need to think that how they are leading their lives. Are our sisters ready to face hardships of life like that great woman ?Are our sisters ready to serve their husbands through thick and thin ?Do our sisters take care of their niqab like great daughter of Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam?

We are ready to take name of Fatimah and we associate us with her but why we are not ready to follow her ???We need to revive the modesty ,patience and dignity of Fatimah radi Allahu anha .May Allah give toufeeq to our sisters, wives, daughters to take lesson from life of Fatimah radi Allahu anha

BOLLYWOOD DECEPTION [partially urdu]

By Mohammad Ali

It is very much seen that now a days majority of Indian songs contain the word "Allah, Rabb or Khuda" and consider ishq with a girl to be more important and superior than Allah Almighty. Unfortunately many weak faith Muslims do not realise the seriousness of this issue and not only listen to such songs but sing these songs as well. However this constitutes kufr and shirk which is an unforgiveable sin in Islam. There is absolutely no doubt about the propaganda of Bollywood behind such despicable songs & lyrics. They want Muslims aqeeda to be ruined and want muslims to underestimate the greatness of Allah subhana wataala. They also want muslims to believe in such a god who is powerless and who has sent all human beings on earth to do ishq with a girl and who himself has done ishq with females. When you tell this to some Muslims they in reply say: "Wo hamarey Allah ko thori kehtey hain. Wo tau bhagwan ko kehtey hain. Apnay khuda ko."
Apnay khuda ko??? Are u kidding me? Kaun khuda? Kia Allah ke ilawa bhi koi Khuda hai? Allah hi se sab mangtey hain lekin concept of Allah Almighty har eik ke zehan mei different hai.The concept of god in mind of hindus is that god is like human beings and he does all things which human beings do.

If you read Hindu religious scriptures, it is mentioned that god also falls in love with a woman (written in mahabatra). It is also believed that god ramayana (rama) fought for his love from another person. It is also mentioned that god karishna used to steal clothes of women who were taking bath in a river. It is also believed that god watches females dancing and enjoys that. Take a look at a dialogue from the Indian movie: "Bumm Bumm bole"

Wife: "Kia khabar laye?"
Husband: "Khabar ye ke Bhagwan ji upar naach dekhnay mei lagey hain aur idar dunya mei kia ho raha hai wo inhe pata nahi."

What more can be said of such people who consider god to be private parts of male and female.

Sadly many name sake Muslims who know nothing about Tawheed/shirk listen to these as 'ruh ki ghiza' and end up loving some girl more than Allah Almighty. The concept of Allah is totally ruined in their minds. And they send kisses to the sky and make prayers to Allah to show them jhalak of their mehboob and that the mehboob gets convinced. May Allah save us from such a blasphemic concept of Allah Almighty. May Allah give hidayah to those who write these lyrics and if hidayah is not in their qadr, then may Allah destroy them. A Muslim can never bear that shirk be done in Allah Almighty's Majesty. Allah says:
"And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allâh) has begotten a son. Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing. Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins." (19:88-90)

Imagine the ghazab of Allah Almighty reflecting from this ayah. Shame on those Muslims who hear to these blasphemic songs and dialogues and do not feel anything.

This web site is a brief guide to understanding Islam

This web site is a brief guide to understanding Islam.
[website link : http://www.islam-guide.com/f-preface.htm ]

It consists of three chapters.

The first chapter, Some Evidence for the Truth of Islam, answers some important questions which some people ask:

n Is the Quran truly the literal word of God, revealed by Him?

n Is Muhammad 1 truly a prophet sent by God?

n Is Islam truly a religion from God?

In this chapter, six kinds of evidence are mentioned:

1) The Scientific Miracles in the Holy Quran: This section discusses (with illustrations) some recently discovered scientific facts mentioned in the Holy Quran, which was revealed fourteen centuries ago.

2) The Great Challenge to Produce One Chapter Like the Chapters of the Holy Quran: In the Quran, God challenged all human beings to produce a single chapter like the chapters of the Quran. Ever since the Quran was revealed, fourteen centuries ago, until this day, no one has been able to meet this challenge, even though the smallest chapter in the Quran (Chapter 108) is only ten words.

3) Biblical Prophecies on the Advent of Muhammad , the Prophet of Islam: In this section, some of the Biblical prophecies on the advent of the Prophet Muhammad are discussed.

4) The Verses in the Quran That Mention Future Events Which Later Came to Pass: The Quran mentioned future events which later came to pass, for example, the victory of the Romans over the Persians.

5) Miracles Performed by the Prophet Muhammad : Many miracles were performed by the Prophet Muhammad . These miracles were witnessed by many people.

6) The Simple Life of Muhammad : This clearly indicates that Muhammad was not a false prophet who claimed prophethood to attain material gains, greatness, or power.

From these six kinds of evidence, we conclude that:

n The Quran must be the literal word of God, revealed by Him.

n Muhammad is truly a prophet sent by God.

n Islam is truly a religion from God.

If we would like to know if a religion is true or false, we should not depend on our emotions, feelings, or traditions. Rather, we should depend on our reason and intellect. When God sent the prophets, He supported them with miracles and evidence which proved that they were truly prophets sent by God and hence that the religion they came with is true.

The second chapter, Some Benefits of Islam, mentions some of the benefits that Islam provides for the individual, such as:

1) The Door to Eternal Paradise

2) Salvation from Hellfire

3) Real Happiness and Inner Peace

4) Forgiveness for All Previous Sins.

The third chapter, General Information on Islam, provides general information on Islam, corrects some misconceptions about it, and answers some commonly asked questions, such as:

n What does Islam say about terrorism?

n What is the status of women in Islam?

What every Muslim should know about their Deen

Bismillahir Rahmanir RaheemAssalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barkatuh!
Prophet Muhammad Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"Seeking Knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim."

(Related by Ibn 'Adiyy, Al-Bayhaqi & Al-Tabarani)

Though this Hadith is known and memorised by most Muslims, the essence, the amount, and the kind of knowledge referred to in this Hadith remains misunderstood by many.

If it is true that the knowledge incumbent upon every Muslim pertains to religious knowledge, or al-'Ilm al-Shar'i, how deeply does one have to pursue his quest of this knowledge to fulfill his duties and discharge the learning obligations placed upon him? In other words, what are the minimum teachings that every Muslim - male or female - is required to know about his Deen?

TYPES OF KNOWLEDGE IN ISLAM

Muslim scholars classify knowledge into two categories:

1- Obligatory Knowledge (fardh 'ayn)

This refers to knowledge of the fundamentals of Islamic beliefs which every Muslim must know seeking this knowledge is an obligatory duty upon every Muslim. All obligatory knowledge deal exclusively with al-'Ilm al-Shari'i, that is, knowledge pertaining to Islamic faith, acts of worship, and the necessary transaction in the daily dealing of a Muslim.

2- Optional Knowledge (fardh kifayah)

This is not a duty required of every individual, but rather it falls upon the community as a whole. Hence, if a group of individuals in the community undertake to acquire this kind of knowledge, all other individuals will be exempted from this duty, and the whole community will be free from responsibility or negligence to acquire this kind of knowledge. Examples of such knowledge include studying Islamic law and other basic sciences, industries and professions which are vital for the welfare of the society.

Unlike obligatory knowledge, optional knowledge covers part of Islamic knowledge and all worldly knowledge. The former is called al-'Ilm al-Shar'i al Kifa'i (optional Islamic knowledge), while the latter is called al-Ilm al-dunyawi (worldly knowledge).

Religious sciences: These cover all branches of Islamic Shariah, such as: tafsir (Qur'anic exegeses), fiqh, hadith sciences (known as mustalah al-hadith or 'Ilm usul al-hadith), seerah (the Prophet (peace be upon him)'s biography), Islamic political science, (As-siyasah al-shar'iyah), Islamic history, etc.

Each of these sciences may require knowledge of other sciences to fully and comprehensively cover the substance of the matter studied. For example: tafsir needs Arabic grammar, Arabic literature, and other linguistic skills; Hadith sciences need the science of criticism (which looks at the narrators' credibility, trustworthiness, power of memorisation, etc.), called 'Ilm al-jarh wat-ta'deel.

The natural and applied sciences: These are all the basic sciences, industries and professions which are of vital necessity for the welfare of the community. Examples of such fields include: engineering; agriculture, fisheries, food sciences, etc.

Leaders of every Muslim community should always do their best to procure the necessary number of scholars, professionals and qualified men and women in all fields of optional knowledge needed by the community.

For example, Muslims in America must train sufficient number of Shariah scholars to answer questions raised by members of the community. They must also prepare enough educators administrators, teachers and counsellors to fill the growing needs of Islamic schools in this country. Both male and female Muslim doctors are needed in every city to care for male and female Muslim patients, respectively.

From the above discussion, we can fully understand the responsibility that lies upon the shoulders of Muslims in this continent. Any community which does not take the necessary steps to satisfy its own needs in all fields of optional knowledge becomes subject to the punishment of Allah. Consequently, all its members will share the blame and the sins for their shortcomings.

Heavenly Organisms & Horoscopes Have Nothing To Do With Fate Of Human Beings

by Allama Hafiz Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

A large number of Human beings have been worshipping and associating their fate with heavenly bodies and stars since a very long time.Even at this moment Hindus and Zoroastrians pray sun and take it as source of power and benefits. This belief has been strictly condemned by Allah swt and His Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam. This mistaken belief was also prevailing in life time of Ibraheem aliehis salam.Allah swt has narrated this incidence in Holy Quran .Allah swt says

Thus did we show Ibrâhim (Abraham) the kingdom of the heavens and the earth that he be one of those who have Faith with certainty. (Al-An'am 6:75)

When the night covered him over with darkness he saw a star. He said: "This is my lord." But when it set, he said: "I like not those that set." (Al-An'am 6:76)

When he saw the moon rising up, he said: "This is my lord." But when it set, he said: "Unless my Lord guides me, I shall surely be among the erring people." (Al-An'am 6:77)

When he saw the sun rising up, he said: "This is my lord. This is greater." But when it set, he said: "O my people! I am indeed free from all that you join as partners in worship with Allâh. (Al-An'am 6:78)

Verily, I have turned my face towards Him Who has created the heavens and the earth Hanifa (Islâmic Monotheism, i.e. worshipping none but Allâh Alone) and I am not of Al-Mushrikûn (see V.2:105)". (Al-An'am 6:79)

Thus it can be concluded that Heavenly bodies are not owner of any things rather they are owned by Allah swt.So we need to avoid the worshipping of Sun and Moon .Allah swt has strictly forbidden His worshippers to prostrate before Sun and Moon .Allah swt says

Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allâh Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.(Fussilat 41:37)

Even the old scriptures have also condemned the worshipping of stars. It is clearly mentioned in old testament

And beware lest you raise your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things that the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.(Deuteronomy 4:19 English Standard Version (©2001) )

It is blessing of Allah swt on Muslims that they donot worship and prostrate before Sun and Moon and other heavenly bodies .But it is very unlucky that a large number of Muslims associate their fate with different stars and an overwhelming majority is interested in knowing their horoscope and affect of different stars on their life. We should follow instructions of Allah and His Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam on these issues

It is mentioned in hadith Narrated by Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, he reported:

Allah's Messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) led the Morning Prayer at Al-Hudaibiah. There were some marks of the rainfall during the night. At the conclusion of the Prayer he turned towards people and observed: Do you know what your Lord has said? They replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) remarked: He (Allah) said: Some of My bondsmen entered the morning as My believers and some as unbelievers. He who said: We have had a rainfall due to the Blessing and Mercy of Allah, is My believer and a disbeliever of stars, and who said: We have had a rainfall due to the rising of such and such (star) disbelieved in Me and affirmed his faith in the stars. (Al-Bukhari :Book on The Call for Prayer Hadith No. 801, Friday Prayer Hadith No. 980, Battles Hadith No. 3832, Monotheism Hadith No. 6949, Muslim : Book on Faith Hadith No. 104, Al-Nisa`i : Book on Asking for Rain Hadith No. 1508, Abu-Dawud :Book on Medical Treatment Hadith No. 3407, Ahmed b. Hanbal : Part 4 Page 116, 117, 118,Malik :Book on Asking for Rain Hadith No. 405 )

Now it is time to think that if some one associates a single rainfall with stars is disbeliever in Allah swt.So what will be the fate of the person who associates his upcoming weeks ,months ,years ,travels, marriages and death with stars.Indeed according to the sayings of Prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam he/she is the one who believes in stars and disbelieves in Allah swt. Thus it is an obligation on every Muslim that he/she must avoid believing in stars and should not take interest in this mistaken activity even for fun and entertainment.May Allah guide us all to the right path ameen

Who is Imam Mahdi?

From the book: The signs before the day of Judgement
Author: Ibn Kathir

The Imam Mahdi will come at the end of time; he is one of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs and Imams. He is not the Mahdi who is expected by the Shia, who they claim will appear from a tunnel in Samarra. This claim of theirs has no basis in reality nor in any reliable source. They allege that his name is Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn al-Askari, and that he went into the tunnel when he was five years old.

The matter we intend to discuss has been proven by Ahadith narrated from the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam): that the Mahdi will appear at the end of time. I believe that he will appear before Jesus the son of Mary comes down, as the Ahadith indicate.

Hajjaj said that he heard Ali say, The Prophet said, Even if there were only one day left for the world, Allah would send a man from among us to fill the world with justice, just as it had been filled with oppression and justice. (Ahmad).

Ali said, The Prophet said, The Mahdi is one of us, from among the people of my household. In one night Allah will inspire him and prepare him to carry out his task successfully. (Ahmad and Ibn Majah.)

Ali said, whilst looking at his son al-Hasan, This son of mine is a Sayyid (master), as the Prophet named him. Among his descendants there will be man named after your Prophet. He will resemble him in behaviour but not in looks. Then he told them the report which mentions that the earth will be filled with justice. (Abu Dawud.)

Abu Dawud devoted a chapter of his Sunan to the subject of the Mahdi. At the beginning of this chapter he quoted the Hadith of Jabir ibn Samrah, in which the Prophet said, This religion will remain steadfast until twelve caliphs have ruled over you. (According to another report he said, This religion will remain strong until twelve caliphs have ruled over you.) Jabir said, The people cheered and shouted Allahu akbar! Then the Prophet whispered something. I asked my father What did he say? My father said, He said, All of them will be from Quraysh.

Another report says that when the Prophet returned to his house, Quraysh came to him and asked, What will happen after that? He said, Then there will be tribulation and killing.

Abu Dawud reported a Hadith from Abd Allah ibn Masud: The Prophet said, If there were only one day left for the world, that day would be lengthened until a man from among my descendants or from among the people of my household, was sent; his name will be the same as my name, and his fathers name will be the same as my fathers name. He will fill the earth with justice and fairness, just as it will have been filled with injustice and oppression. The world will not end until a man of my household, whose name is the same as mine, holds away.

Abd Allah said, The Prophet said, A man from my household, whose name is like mine, will take power. (Tirmidhi.) In another report, from Abu Hurairah, the Prophet said, If there were only one day left for this world, Allah would lengthen it until he took power.

Abu Said said, The Prophet said, The Mahdi will be one of my descendants; he will have a high forehead and a hooked nose. He will fill the earth with justice and fairness just as it was filled with injustice and oppression, and he will rule for seven years. (Abu Dawud.)

Umm Salamah reported that the Prophet said, People will begin to differ after the death of a Khalifah. A man from the people of Madinah will flee to Makkah. Some of the people of Makkah will come to him and drag him out against his will; they will swear allegiance to him between al-Rukn and al-Maqam. An army will be sent against him from Syria; it will be swallowed up in the desert between Makkah and Madinah. When the people see this, groups of people from Syria and Iraq will come and swear allegiance to him. Then a man from Quraysh whose mother is from Kalb will appear and send an army against them, and will defeat them; this will be known as the Battle of Kalb. Whoever does not witness the spoils of this battle will miss much! The Mahdi will distribute the wealth, and will rule the people according to the Sunnah of the Prophet. Then he will die, and the Muslims will pray for him. (Abu Dawud.)

Ali said, The Prophet said, A man named al-Harith ibn Hirath will come from Transoxania. His army will be led by a man named Mansur. He will pave the way for and establish the government of the family of Muhammad, just as Quraysh established the government of the Messenger of Allah. Every believer will be obliged to support him. (Abu Dawud.)

Abd Allah ibn al-Harith ibn Juz al-Zubaydi said, The Prophet said, A people will come out of the East who will pave the way for the Mahdi. (Ibn Majah.)

Abd Allah said, Whilst we were with the Prophet, some young men from Banu Hashim approached us. When the Prophet saw them, his eyes filled with tears and the colour of his face changed. I said, We can see something has changed in your face, and it upsets us. The Prophet said, We are the people of a Household for whom Allah has chosen the Hereafter rather than this world. The people of my Household (Ahl al-Bayt) will suffer a great deal after my death, and will be persecuted until a people carrying black banners will come out of the east. They will instruct the people to do good, but the people will refuse; they will fight until they are victorious, and the people do as they asked, but they will not accept it from them until they hand over power to a man from my household. Then the earth will be filled with fairness, just as it had been filled with injustice. If any of you live to see this, you should go to him even if you have to crawl across ice.

This text refers to the rule of the Abbasids, as we have mentioned above in the text referring to the beginning of their rule in 132 AH. It also indicates that the Mahdi will appear after the Abbasids, and that he will be one of the Ahl al-Bayt, a descendant of Fatimah, the daughter of the Prophet, through Hasan, not Husayn, as mentioned in the Hadith from Ali ibn Abi Talib; and Allah knows best.

Thwaban said, The Prophet said, Three men will be killed at the place where your treasure is. Each of them will be the son of a Khalifah, and none of them will get hold of the treasure. Then the black banners will come out of the East, and they will slaughter you in a way which has never been seen before. Then he said something which I do not remember; then, If you see him, go and give him your allegiance, even if you have to crawl over ice, because he is the Khalifah of Allah, the Mahdi. (Ibn Majah.)

The treasure referred to in this text is the treasure of the Kabah. Towards the end of time, three of the sons of the Khalifahs will fight to get hold of it, until the Mahdi appears. He will appear from the East, not from the tunnel of Samarra, as the Shiah claim; they believe that he is in this tunnel now, and they are waiting for him to emerge at the end of time. There is no evidence for it in any book or Sahih tradition, and there is no benefit in believing this.

The truth of the matter is that the Mahdi whose coming is promised at the end of time will appear from the East, and people will swear allegiance to him at the Kabah, as some Ahadith indicate.

At the time of the Mahdi, there will be peace and prosperity, with abundant crops and wealth, strong rulers, and Islam will be well-established.

Abu Said said, By Allah every ruler we have had has been worse than the previous one, and every year has been worse than the year before, but I heard the Prophet say, Among your rulers will be one who will give out wealth freely, without counting it. A man will come and ask him for money, and he will say Take; the man will spread his cloak out and the ruler will pour money into it. The Prophet spread out a thick cloak he had been wearing, to demonstrate the mans actions; then he gathered it up by its corners and said, Then the man will take it and leave. (Ahmad.)
