Imam e abu hanifah rahimahullah is one of the great Imams of ahlus sunnah and belongs to khairul quroon .I believe that Imam sahib rahimahullah always called people to follow Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam and he had honestly struggled to communicate deen of Allah swt and used his best potentials and abilities to solve problems of people in light of available knowledge of Quran and sunnah.He while solving problems of people correctly said:
"It is haram for any one who does not know our daleel to issue Fatwa on our sayings."
Here Imam sahib rahimahullah has clarified that his saying is not daleel in itself .Daleel is saying of Allah and His Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam because he knew that deen was completed during the time period of Holy prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam and was well aware of the fact that no one after him salal laho aliehi wasalam had right to add and subtract any thing from deen .And therefore it is not recommended by that great person that we should follow him blindly.He had encouraged his students ,followers and listeners to seek daleel before issuing any fatwah on base of his sayings.So we need to follow all those sayings of Imam abu hanifah rahimahullah and other Imams which are supported by daleel/evidence from Quran and Sunnah and if we are unable to find any daleel for any fatwah issued by this great Imam than we should try to find an authentic daleel before following his fatwa. If after struggle we donot find any daleel than we should prefer verse of Quran and saying of Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam or any saying of other Imam supported by daleel from Quran and Sunnah on sayings of Imam abu hanifah rahimahullah.May Allah send his mercy on great Imam of ahlus sunnah Imam abu hanifah rahimahullah and guide us all to right path ameen
