Asalam o alaikum wr wb. I have been thinking of writing this since many days. Its something very important and every person especially the one who is doing something for Allah's religion should ponder over this. There is so much information available on internet about Islam. Many people read it and come to Islam Alhamdulila. So many people are working for Islam. Those who revert to Islam get this feeling that they should also do something because everyone is doing. So i just want to convey this reminder, first of all to me, and then to all those who are working for benefit of Allah's deen in any way.
There are 2 kinds of people. One who change through some organization/jamat/individual/personality, and other who change through personal research. Both kinds get this desire to do something for Allah's deen. I came to Islam through personal research. I read the Holy Quran translation and then i started to listen to scholars. So i too had made it a mission that i will work for Islam insha Allah. So i started doing whatever i can with Allah's grace. I know my story is of no concern to u so i will come to the point soon :P Alhamdulilah my intention was to gain Allah's pleasure only. What i wanted to tell is that, main thing is your intention. Sometimes i would see some organization or videos of some organization or listen to some scholar and think "Oh i am doing nothing!" and a strange feeling of guilt would take me and i would stand up and start doing anything in josh. Just some weeks ago i thought of doing something. But then i wondered "Wait a minute. For whom am i doing all this?" Has not working for Islam become a stereotype business these days rather than a purpose for which we were actually created? Do we do work for Islam for Allah's sake or just to be included in the list of those who are doing work for Islam and to compete with them and to stand among them? Are we doing work to please Allah or just to over come the guilt that we are doing nothing and so and so is doing a loot? By Allah these questions hit me a lot and made me think a lot and forced me to re visit my mind and check the intention. And trust me when i re visited, somewhere around i found there was problem. Yes its a brave confession to make. But its a confession i am making so that my brothers & sisters can revisit too and find out who they working for? I just want to share a GREAT hadith with everyone:
"The first of men (whose case) will be decided on the Day of Judgment will be a man who died as a martyr. He shall be brought (before the Judgment Seat). Allah will make him recount His blessings (i. e. the blessings which He had bestowed upon him) and he will recount them (and admit having enjoyed them in his life). (Then) will Allah say: What did you do (to requite these blessings)? He will say: I fought for Thee until I died as a martyr. Allah will say: You have told a lie. You fought that you might be called a" brave warrior". And you were called so. (Then) orders will be passed against him and he will be dragged with his face downward and cast into Hell. Then will be brought forward a man who acquired knowledge and imparted it (to others) and recited the Qur'an. He will be brought And Allah will make him recount His blessings and he will recount them (and admit having enjoyed them in his lifetime). Then will Allah ask: What did you do (to requite these blessings)? He will say: I acquired knowledge and disseminated it and recited the Qur'an seeking Thy pleasure. Allah will say: You have told a lie. You acquired knowledge so that you might be called" a scholar," and you recited the Qur'an so that it might be said:" He is a Qari" and such has been said. Then orders will be passed against him and he shall be dragged with his face downward and cast into the Fire. Then will be brought a man whom Allah had made abundantly rich and had granted every kind of wealth. He will be brought and Allah will make him recount His blessings and he will recount them and (admit having enjoyed them in his lifetime). Allah will (then) ask: What have you done (to requite these blessings)? He will say: I spent money in every cause in which Thou wished that it should be spent. Allah will say: You are lying. You did (so) that it might be said about (You):" He is a generous fellow" and so it was said. Then will Allah pass orders and he will be dragged with his face downward and thrown into Hell."
