Jackpot!
The first 10 days of ‘Zul-hijjah’ (Islamic month) have come and bring along the bliss from your LORD! A chance you may feel regret if you lose!
O you whose hard heart is as dark as the night, is it not time that your heart must be filled with light and become soft? Expose yourself to the gentle breeze of your Lord’s mercy during these ten days, for Allaah will cause this breeze to touch whomever He wills, and whoever is touched by it will be happy on the Day of Judgement. There is much to be gained, so make the most of the opportunity afforded by these invaluable and irreplaceable ten days. Hasten to do good deeds, before death strikes, before one can regret one’s negligence and failure to act, before one is asked to return to a place where no prayers will be answered, before death intervenes between the hopeful one and the things he hopes for, before you are trapped with your deeds in the grave. May Allaah bless our Prophet Muhammad and all his Family and Companions. Ameen!

Virtues of these days
1.These are the best 10 DAYS of this world. Even better than Ramadan. (But not the last 10 NIGHTS of Ramadan) Ibn ‘Abbaas R.A reported that the Prophet SAW said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these ten days." The people asked, "Not even Jihaad for the sake of Allaah?" He said, "Not even jihaad for the sake of Allaah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 2/457)
2. One of these ten days is the day of Arafah (ninth of Zilhajjah). In Saheeh Muslim it was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah R.A that the Prophet SAW said: “There is no day on which Allaah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of ‘Arafaah. He comes close and expresses His pride to the angels, saying, ‘What do these people want?’”
3. These days also include Yawm al-Nahar (the Day of Sacrifice and Eid), the greatest day of the entire year and the greatest day of Hajj, which combines acts of worship in a way unlike any other day.
5. Allaah swears an oath by them, and swearing an oath by something is indicative of its importance and great benefit. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): "By the dawn; by the ten nights" [al-Fajr 89:1-2]. Ibn ‘Abbaas, Ibn al-Zubayr, Mujaahid and others of the earlier and later generations said that this refers to the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah. Ibn Katheer said: "This is the correct opinion." (Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 8/413)
4. All the five pillars could be performed in these ten days.
Things to do in these 10 days
1. Hajj and Umrah (pilgrimage): These are the days of pilgrimage and we all know the virtue of them both: It was narrated in Bukhari and Muslim that Abu Hurayrah R.A said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah SAW say: “Whoever performs Hajj and does not utter obscenities or commit sin, will come back as on the day when his mother bore him.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1521; Muslim, 1350.
2. Sawm (Fasting): The Prophet SAW used to fast on the first nine days of Dhu’l-Hijjah. It was narrated from Hunaydah ibn Khaalid from his wife, that one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhu’l-Hijjah… end quote. (Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, 4/205 and by Abu Dawood; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood, 2/462)
Fasting on the Day of Arafah: It was reported from Abu Qataadah (R.A) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafaah. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” Narrated by Muslim.

3. Reciting tahmeed, tahleel and takbeer a great deal: It is Sunnah to recite takbeer (saying Allaahu akbar (Allaah is most great)), tahmeed (saying al-hamdu Lillah (praise be to Allaah)), tahleel (saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (There is no god but Allaah)) and tasbeeh (saying Subhaan-Allaah (Glory be to Allaah)), during the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, saying these words out loud in the mosques, homes, streets and every place in which it is permissible to remember Allaah, to perform this act of worship openly and proclaim the greatness of Allaah. Abu Hurairah R.A and Abdullah bin Umar (R.A) used to gout in the marketplace and start proclaiming out loudly and people used to follow!
Note: Men should recite out loud and women should recite quietly.
It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are no days that are greater before Allaah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days, so recite a great deal of tahleel, takbeer and tahmeed during them.” Narrated by Ahmad, 7/224; its isnaad was classed as saheeh by Ahmad Shaakir.
Takbeer: Allaah akbar, Allaahu akbar, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, Allaahu akbar, wa Lillaah il-hamd (Allaah is Most Great, Allaah is Most Great, there is no god but Allaah; Allaah is Most Great and to Allaah be praise).

4. Sacrifice: One of the righteous deeds that bring a person closer to Allaah in these ten days is to slaughter the sacrifice and to look for a good, fat animal and to spend money on it for the sake of Allaah ONLY. As it was the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) we ought to have the same feeling which he had while he was sacrificing his son in Allah’s way!
Note: The Prophet SAW said: "When you see the new moon of Dhu’l-Hijjah, if any one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, then he should stop cutting his hair and nails until he has offered his sacrifice." According to another report he said: "He should not remove (literally, touch) anything from his hair or skin." (reported by Muslim with four isnaads, 13/146).
May Allah give us the taufeeq to avail this chance and accept this minor effort from us, disregarding all weaknesses and shortcomings! Ameen!

Are prophets Alive??

Yes. Prophets are alive. And living a great life with Allah subhana wata'aala. Their test (life of this world) is over. And they have reached their reward. But they have no connection to life of this world. They have transformed to a new phase of life known as 'Barzakh'. The literal meaning of the word barzakh is 'Barrier'. The name of this word itself suggests that anyone who passes onto barzakh i-e when he dies in the world, is screened from everything happening in world. Allah said in Holy Quran: "and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected." (23:100) As for the life of this world. Then that phase is over for Prophets (alayhi salam ajmaeen) and they have died. But transformed to a new phase of life. Known as barzakh. Where they are alive, happy, leading a great life. And will stay there till the Day of Judgement. And Allah knows best.

Their life is different than life of this world and has no connection to it. People who say such things are la ilm. They do not have proper knowledge about different phases of life. 1st phase was aalam e irwah. When Allah Almighty gathered all spirits (irwah) and took a covenant from them: " And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify." (7:172) So all the irwah were alive in this phase. And heard Allah Almighty and took covenant with Him. But no one remembers what aalam e irwah looked like. No one remembers how Allah talked to us. No one. So its proven that it was a different phase of life which was not connected to life of this world. Neither is life of this world connected to aalam e irwah. There are still some spirits to enter this world (babies who are to born). And they still are in aalam e irwah. But they do not hear or see sights and sounds of this world. Similarly those who hav passed test of this life and have died are iin aalam e barzakh and they dont hear or see sights and sounds of this world and that life is completely different and not attached to life of this world. You yourself think bro. Why would a human being, who has passed his test, made Allah happy, and reached his reward and leading an eternal life of bliss, want to come back to this world and get a new job (of listening to people and helping them)? This doesn't make sense and destroys the very purpose of JANNAH which is eternal happiness and no responsibility. Human being will be free there. In Eternal bliss. May Allah Almighty make us all among the inhabitants of jannah. Allahumma inni as'alukal jannat al firdous. ameen
Aws ibn Aws relates: the prophet PBUH said, "…so invoke more blessing on me that day (Friday) for your blessing will be submitted to me" The people asked, "Apostle of Allah PBUH! How can it be that our blessing will be submitted to you while your body is decayed" He replied, "Allah the exalted has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of the prophets" Sunan abo dawood vol 1, p 269, no 1042 Saheeh Abo dawood vol 1, p 196, no 925 Sanan ibn maajah vol 2, p 149, no 1085 Saheeh sunan ibn maajah vol 1, p 179, no 889 The correct belief regarding the life of the messenger of Allah PBUH in the grave after his death Points. 1. The bodies of the prophets never become decayed because the earth can't consume them 2. They're alive in their grave but not in the same sense as they were in this world. The correct creed is that Muslim must believe that the prophets are alive but what kind of life they live is unknown and we are not to inquire about it. 3. There's no evidence which can prove that they hear the speech and salutation made to them directly. However what is clearly mentioned in the Hadith is that Allah has appointed the angels to collect the speech and salutation from the people and bring it to the messenger of Allah PBUH. (The Etiquette of a Muslim on Friday by Abu Ibraheem Abdul Majid Alee Hassan, page. 23-29) As the following Hadith explain It is reported that the messenger of Allah PBUH said "Allah has angels who travel about in the earth and convey to me greetings from my people" Saheeh sunan an nasaaee vol 1, p 274, no 1215 This Hadith explain that it's the duty of angels to carry the invocation of the people to the messenger of Allah PBUH. Therefore there's no need to go to the grave of the messenger of Allah PBUH. In fact, prophet PBUH disliked gathering being made at his grave, it's also mention in Hadith Abu Hurayrah reported that he had heard the messenger of Allah PBUH say, "Don't turn your houses into graves and don't make my grave a place to gather for visitation but invoke blessing upon me for your blessing will reach me wherever you are" Sunan Abu dawood vol 2, p 542-3, no 2037 Saheeh sunan Abu dawood vol 1, p 383, no 1796 There's another Hadith Abu Hurayrah reported the messenger of Allah PBUH as saying "If anyone of you greets me Allah will returns my soul to me and I respond to the greetings." Sunan Abu dawood vol 2, p 542, no 2036 Saheeh sunan Abu dawood vol 1, p 383, no 1795 Allah knows best!
The durood is presented to Holy Prophet (pbuh) by angel jibrael (AS). Not that rasul Allah (s) himself listens to durood. Lets see the hadith and it will become clear to you insha Allah. Aus bin Aus (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Among the best of your days is Friday; so supplicate Allah more often for me in it , for your supplications will be displayed to me.'' He was asked: "O Messenger of Allah! How will our blessings be displayed to you when your decayed body will have mixed with the earth?'' He (PBUH) replied, "Allah has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of the Prophets.'' [Abu Dawud]. Commentary: That "Allah has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of the Prophets'' means that the earth does not consume them. That "their Salat (salutations) will be presented to him'' indicates that angels present the salutation performed to him, as is elucidated in other Ahadith. Moreover, his soul is then returned to him and he answers the salutations also.
Now what this tells us is a very important fact of after life. 1- The body is in grave. 2- The soul is in barzakh. You should know it. Its very common. Whenever someone dies tau kaha jata hai ke uski ruh farishtey le gaye. Ye kabi nahi koi kehta ke USKA JISM farishtey le gaye. Jism tau wahin ka wahin para hai. Asal mai tau ruh nikli hai. Aur ruh barzakh mai rahegi qayamat tak. When we send durood on Holy Prophet (pbuh), then Allah returns his ruh to his body and durood is presented to him and he asnwers. You may ask the question that How is the possible? Then the answer scholars gave is that "Allah can do everything and nothing is difficult for Him. He makes his soul return to his body even if billions durood are presented to him. He is presented with them and Allah can do it."

THE INTERNET VEIL by Brother Mohammad Ali

THE INTERNET VEIL

I wanted to write a post on this topic long ago, but it got forgotten. So now writing and i request everyone to read it as its a very very important issue. It might get lengthy. I dont care. I should say it today. So here it goes.

Brothers & Sisters. PLEASE learn the art of differentiating between the CYBER WORLD and the REAL WORLD. Most of us are ignorant of this awareness that Cyber world is far more different than the real world. The name of the topic might have given you some idea of what that difference is. Internet is NOT the real world. Internet is a platform dependant on many factors which need to be taken into account. Internet has a BIIG problem. And you know what that problem is? Its the veil, the curtain which is between REAL PEOPLE behind the screen. This curtain blocks a very fundamental asset of human beings known as Emotions. You can't see how a person is feeling and what a person is doing. You can't know if the person is angry, sad, happy, frustrated etc etc while talking to you. Simply typing ":@ :) lol :-|" etc etc doesn't mean that this person is really feeling what he/she wrote. It maybe that a person is very upset and angry types the smile emoticon ":)" and everyone gets the impression that this person is very "Khush akhlaq" and based on this they form Judgements. It maybe that a person is very "Khush akhlaq" but he never makes the ":)" emoticon while talking, either because that person is not much aware with internet use or because his typing is not good or there can be other reasons. My point is:
"STOP JUDGING PEOPLE THROUGH INTERACTION AT INTERNET."

You dont know because of the curtain between u and the other person, that what that person is doing. He/she might be busy doing a lots of other work while talking to you at internet. He/she might be upset at something and that might bring some harsh tone into that person's writing while talking to you. He/she might be unaware of proper internet usage and that might bring some unpleasant style of talking. For Allah's sake!!! STOP JUDGING OTHER PEOPLE THROUGH INTERNET!!

Another huge problem of the internet. A person might say something in anger at some time or because of frustration. If the same thing is said face to face, that person might rectify that at some time and clear the misconception. But what happens at internet? Whatever you say gets printed (saved) and a person might read what you wrote in anger or frustration after 1 week or 1 month or even a year, and say "OH! HOW ILL MANNERED THIS PERSON IS!" While in reality you had already rectified and did tawbah but the other person forms a judgement based on an old comment.

By Allah i have myself witnessed many people who talk at internet like they are the most harsh, dry people on earth. But i swear to Allah when i met them i felt that they are completely opposite of what they appear on internet. I myself have experienced so many such events. Internet is a plastic world and behind the screen a person has a lots of issues. Anyone who passes any judgemental comments about other people merely based on their Internet writings or comments, is a very strange person. Stop passing comments like "Yar ap ignore kar rahey hain." "Yar apney mje reply nahi kiya." "Yar ap nahayat hi batamiz insan hain." "Yar ap anti women hain."
I want to tell you people an incident i witnessed from my own eyes. I was eating lunch at a hotel and there was a person eating next to me. And he got a call at cell phone. It was his wife. He received the call and his hands were full of oil and he had to leave the food and he was still chewing food. And in that condition he received the call. Now because of all this unpleasant break (leaving delicious food and hand full of oil) his tone was effected and he talked a bit harshly with wife. Now tell me. What kind of a foolish person would form a judgement based on this that "OH THAT PERSON IS SO ANTI WOMEN. HE TALKS LIKE THAT WITH HIS WIFE!" while in reality that person could be a very good husband and his wife is satisfied with him. But this foolish judgemental person sitting next to him, who has no relation with this person what so ever and meeting that person for the first time, forms a judgement based on one 30 second phone call that "THIS PERSON TREATS HIS WIFE BADLY!".

Grow up my dear fellow muslims. There are so many issues at cyber world and u cannot treat cyber world as real world. Think many times before forming judgements about the other person. Some people pass such big comments and judgements, based on few glimpses of a person's talk at internet, that really hurt. One such comment was given to me:
"THIS POOR PERSON WILL NEVER SUCCEED IN HIS MARRIAGE LIFE!"
ALLAH HU AKBAR!! Fear Allah people. What is wrong with you? You know not a bit about the other person in REAL LIFE and you say such sentences. SUBHAN ALLAH!

The solution i see to all this dilemma we all are facing is given in the hadith, which is:
1- Talk less.
2- Talk good or dont talk.

But what to do when people form a judgement even on this that this person is really harsh?
Sad. Very sad.

Three masjids for which it is prescribed to travel for the purpose of worship

by Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

There are three masjids for which it is prescribed to travel for the purpose of worship.

1 Masjid UL Haram.
2 Masjid UN Nabvi.
3 Masjid UL Aqsa( Baitul muqaddas).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not travel (specifically) to any mosque except three: al-Masjid al-Haraam, Masjid al-Aqsa, and this mosque of mine.” (Sahih Al-Bukhaari, 1996).

Reward of offering one salah in

1 Masjid il Haram is equal to 100000 salah
2 Masjid in Nabvi is equal to 1000 salah
3 Masjid il Aqsa is equal to 250 salah

This reward is multiplied by 27 times if salah is offered in congregation

So every Muslim can go any where to seek knowledge ,information or for worldly benefit but no Muslim should go to any place to get additional reward except above mentioned places

ALAS STEVE JOBS…!

By Brother   Mugheerah Luqman  on islamic brothers forum

Brothers and sisters in Islam
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Today in my accounts Class our teacher talked about Steve Jobs and his contribution to apple. He said that it was recorded three times that even American Government didn’t have that much cash which apple had in three different times… All because of STEVE JOBS!
At that time something clicked in my mind and I was forced to take a deep breath and suddenly started being sympathetic for Steve instead of being inspired by him. So much wealth and what was the END?
What did his wealth do? Was he abled to save himself from the pangs of death?
" And if you could but see when the wrongdoers are in the overwhelming pangs of death while the angels extend their hands, [saying], "Discharge your souls! Today you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation for what you used to say against Allah other than the truth and [that] you were, toward His verses, being arrogant."
What was his final home? Was he buried in the skies because of his wealth and status OR below the filthy Earth where different creations of Allah walk and spit? Why wasn’t he different to a normal person who lives in a cottage and doesn’t even have the pure water to quench his thirst with?
At that moment memories came rushing back and I was lost in the history - the time of Prophet of Allah! It is narrated in Saheeh Al-Bukhari 2801:
Leaders of different tribes: Bani Aamir and Bani Sulaim came to the Prophet of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and asked for his learned companions رضى الله عنهم ورضوا عنه to be sent along with them to their clans and teach their tribesmen and guide them to the Divine Path. Prophet of Allah chose 70 of his companions and sent along and as they reached the well of Mauna بئر معونة the leaders who were actually hypocrites caught them off-guard and killed all 70 of them brutally. One of the companions who was taking his last breath and was severely wounded cried out:
فزت ورب الكعبة
(I swear) by the Sustainer of Kabah! I prospered!
And closed his eyes!

Now see: ONE WHO DEPARTED FROM THE WORLD OF MISERY TO THE WORLD OF BLISS. AND THE OTHER…. Alas.. To the ditches of Chaos and Destruction which is forever…! AND BELIEVE ME ‘FOREVER’ IS SUCH A LONG TIME…! WHO IS BETTER??????
I can’t thank Allah for such a blessing that He bestowed upon us and even if He takes away everything even then we are burdened by His favor which He gifted us in the form of Islam!
يمنون عليك أن أسلموا قل لا تمنوا علي إسلامكم بل الله يمن عليكم أن هداكم للإيمان إن كنتم صادقين * الحجرات 17
“they consider it a favor to you that they have accepted Islam. Say, "Do not consider your Islam a favor to me. Rather, Allah has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you should be truthful."

For the conclusion one Hadith defines everything:
الدنيا سجن المؤمن وجنة الكافر * صحيح مسلم 2956
“Dunya is a jail for Muslim and a Paradise for a Kaafir.”

Thank Allah and be proud of Islam and turn towards Allah before it is too late!
The seeker of your prayers: Abu Jammaz (Mugheerah Luqman)

What to Say About Steve Jobs By Brother Ali.

Asalam o alaikum wr wb

Wanted to share this post the day steve jobs died, but was very busy for 2 days. I would not say "Do not pray for him because he was a kafir." I would not say "Learn from him because he left the world without eman and what benefit he got from his inventions?" Because many people already said that and mugheera also shared a great post on this issue. However i want to address everyone regarding a very important point.

Stop setting statuses like "STEVE JOBS WILL SURELY GO TO HELL!".
This age is a an age which requires immense patience and hikmah. I really did not know who steve jobs was until a brother told me. Whoever he was, his contribution to technology (which millions of muslims are using today) is very good. Appreciate that and even Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran that He repays the kuffar reward in life of this world for whatever useful they do. But they will have no share in the Hereafter. Just because he was a disbeliever doesn't mean u should disrespect him now. It is prohibited to curse the dead, even disbeliever, unless he/she was a staunch enemy of Islam. If you people read RAND CORPORATION REPORT, it is written there that they (our enemies) want to widen the gaps between different ideologies and break us up into sects and groups. The modernists and fundamentalists already have so much gap. Both hate each other and make fun of each other and defy each other. Setting such statuses "STEVE JOBS WILL SURELY GO TO HELL." will only widen that gap and our enemies would get a chance to manipulate such statements and show the modernists that "LOOK HOW CONSTRICTED AND RIGID FUNDAMENTALIST ISLAM IS." And this exactly is the reason why the modernists do not even listen to whatever fundamentalists talk or tell them because they have in their minds that whatever they say is extreme. This is our enemies strategy.

The secularist of Hazrat Musa (alayhi salam) time, Fir'aun, asked Hazrat Musa:
"[Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old? (our forefathers)" (20:51)
It is absolutely evident why he asked this question. He asked it because bani Israel was present there and he wanted Hazrat Musa to say something bad about their forefathers so that they get angry and do not listen to him. But look at the hikmah of Allah's Messenger who replied:
"[Musa (Moses)] said: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord, in a Record. My Lord is neither unaware nor He forgets, "(20:51)

Imagine Hazrat Musa (AS) saying "ALL ARE IN HELL!" Allah hu akbar! We just do not understand the tricks of our enemies. We just do not understand the traps of those who want to split us apart and created hatred between us. Now why would we want to say something controversial when the same could be said at a later time or in another way?

Understanding Sahih Bukharee ( Hadith No 2 ) How is the Divine Inspiration revealed to Prophet Muhammad [SAW]?

by Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

Hadith no 2:
Narrated 'Aisha: (the mother of the faithful believers) Al-Harith bin Hisham asked Allah's Apostle "O Allah's Apostle! How is the Divine Inspiration revealed to you?" Allah's Apostle replied, "Sometimes it is (revealed) like the ringing of a bell, this form of Inspiration is the hardest of all and then this state passes ' off after I have grasped what is inspired. Sometimes the Angel comes in the form of a man and talks to me and I grasp whatever he says." 'Aisha added: Verily I saw the Prophet being inspired Divinely on a very cold day and noticed the Sweat dropping from his forehead (as the Inspiration was over).

Commentary by Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

Allah swt teaches and guides His prophets through divine inspiration. All the prophets were inspired by Allah in the following forms:

It is not given to any human being that Allâh should speak to him unless (it be) by Inspiration, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave. Verily, He is Most High, Most Wise. (Ash-Shura 42:51)

In the same manner prophet Muhammad salal laho aliehi wasalam was inspired by Allah swt .

Allah swt says:
And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad SAW) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur'ân) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allâh's religion of Islâmic Monotheism). (Ash-Shura 42:52)

On another instance Allah swt says that all the divine messengers of Allah swt were inspired by Allah swt in the same manner.Allah swt says:
Verily, We have inspired you (O Muhammad SAW) as We inspired Nûh (Noah) and the Prophets after him; We (also) inspired Ibrâhim (Abraham), Ismâ'il (Ishmael), Ishâque (Isaac), Ya'qûb (Jacob), and Al¬Asbât [the twelve sons of Ya'qûb (Jacob)], 'Iesa (Jesus), Ayub (Job), Yûnus (Jonah), Hârûn (Aaron), and Sulaimân (Solomon), and to Dawûd (David) We gave the Zabûr (Psalms). (An-Nisa 4:163)

It should however be born in mind that prophet Muhammad salal laho aliehi wasalam is the last messenger of Allah swt .

Allah swt says:
Muhammad (SAW) is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allâh and the last (end) of the Prophets. And Allâh is Ever All¬Aware of everything. (Al-Ahzab 33:40)

So this chain of divine inspiration has finished with him .And who soever claims that he is also inspired by divine inspiration should keep this saying of Allah swt in his mind:
And who can be more unjust than he who invents a lie against Allâh, or says: "I have received inspiration," whereas he is not inspired in anything; and who says, "I will reveal the like of what Allâh has revealed." And if you could but see when the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong¬doers, etc.) are in the agonies of death, while the angels are stretching forth their hands (saying): "Deliver your souls! This day you shall be recompensed with the torment of degradation because of what you used to utter against Allâh other than the truth. And you used to reject His Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) with disrespect!" (Al-An'am 6:93)

Prophet Muhammad salal laho aliehi wasalam told in this hadith that the most intense way in which he was inspired was the way in which he used to listen bell type sound and in that state he was facing alot of burden and mother of believers Ayesha radi Allahu anha stated that on a very cold day the drop of sweat were dropping from his forehead due to this burden. But after he had grasped the inspiration and inspiration had finished he was relaxed.

Understanding Sahih Bukharee ( Hadith No 1 )

Understanding Sahih Bukharee

( Hadith No 1 )

Hadith no 1:

Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for."

Commentary by Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer :

The first hadith of Bukharee narrated by Umer bin khattab radi Allahu anhu clearly indicates that acts are identified by their intentions.Any act which is done with pure intention to please Allah swt will be accepted by Allah swt and any act which is not done with pure intention will either be rejected by Allah swt or will acquire less reward depending on the quality of intention of the doer.

According to authentic hadith of Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam on the day of judgement a scholar,a fighter in the way of Allah swt and a person who was spending his money on people will be thrown in hell fire .It will be due to the reason that they had done all these acts for fame and thereforeAllah swt will reject all these good deeds.

Similarly prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam gave example of horse. He told horses are of three types .One is horse that is deputed in the way of Allah swt other which is kept to fulfil day to day needs and third one is the horse which is kept to express social status and pride .When the owner of the first type of horse feeds the horse and when that horse takes a single step ahead and even when it urinates the owner gets reward but when the owner of the third type of horse feeds the horse and when that horse takes a single step ahead and even when it urinates the owner earns wrath against it.

The example of emigration is very thought provoking because it is indeed an act of great reward .Allah swt has said in the Holy Quran :

He who emigrates (from his home) in the Cause of Allâh, will find on earth many dwelling places and plenty to live by. And whosoever leaves his home as an emigrant unto Allâh and His Messenger, and death overtakes him, his reward is then surely incumbent upon Allâh. And Allâh is Ever Oft¬Forgiving, Most Merciful. (An-Nisa 4:100)

But hadith clearly indicates that Allah swt will give the reward to emigrant according to his intention .Any one who is travelling to protect his Iman,to seek knowledge of deen and to please Allah swt will be different from the traveller who is travelling for business and marriage. Travelling for business and marriage is allowed but travelling purely for sake of Allah swt is an act of worshipping So Allah swt will deal every person according to his intention. A man can hide his intention from other human beings but Allah swt is well aware of the intentions of His creation.

Stop setting statuses like "STEVE JOBS WILL SURELY GO TO HELL!".

BY BROTHER MOHAMMAD ALI

Let be United Muslim Ummah

By Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

When

1 Allah is our Provider
2 Muhammad salal laho aliehi wasalam is our Prophet
3 Islam is our religion

Why cannot we be united on Book of Allah swt and Sunnah of Rasool sala laho aliehi wasalam transferred to us through authentic hadith and be true Muslims.

We are deviated from right path when we prefer

1 Our Forefathers
2 Our religious leaders
3 Our desires
5 Our culture and traditions
6 Own beliefs
7 Party and tribe

On sayings of Allah and His Rasool sala laho aliehi wasalam.May Allah give us toufeeq to stick to Quran and authentic Hadiths and help us to take these two documents of truth as yardstick to rectify all our beliefs and Customs.

Understanding Sahih Bukharee ( Hadith No 3 )

Hadith NO 3

Narrated 'Aisha (the mother of the faithful believers) Radi Allahu anha :

The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Apostle was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright day light, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food like-wise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, "I do not know how to read. The Prophet added, "The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, 'I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?'

Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, 'Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists) has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous." (96.1, 96.2, 96.3) Then Allah's Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, "I fear that something may happen to me." Khadija replied, "Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your Kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones." Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the PreIslamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, "Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!" Waraqa asked, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" Allah's Apostle described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out." Allah's Apostle asked, "Will they drive me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, "Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while. Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah Al-Ansari while talking about the period of pause in revelation reporting the speech of the Prophet "While I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up and saw the same angel who had visited me at the cave of Hira' sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I got afraid of him and came back home and said, 'Wrap me (in blankets).' And then Allah revealed the following Holy Verses (of Quran): 'O you (i.e. Muhammad)! wrapped up in garments!' Arise and warn (the people against Allah's Punishment),... up to 'and desert the idols.' (74.1-5) After this the revelation started coming strongly, frequently and regularly."

Commentary by Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer :

This hadiths discusses the starting of revelation on prophet Muhammad salal laho aliehi waslaam . A little background of this revelation is as follows:

Prophet Muhammad salal laho aliehi wasalam did not get any formal education during his childhood. He did not go to any madrassah and school so he did not have any worldly teacher. He was however a very honest and truthful person since his childhood and was also modest and noble in his character. This hadiths throw some light on his attributes before prophet hood.

The attributes possessed by him were as follows:
1 He used to keep good relations with his Kith and kin
2 He used to help the poor and the destitute
3 He used to serve his guests generously
4 He used to assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones.

He was never attracted by the ways and customs of ignorant polytheists of Makkah. So avoided worshipping of idols and did not eat the meat which was being sacrificed in the name of these idols. As the whole Arabia was drowned in polytheism so prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam was not satisfied with the trends and life style of these pagan people of Arabia. He started focusing on the reality of this world and creation and tried to probe the objective behind the creation of this world. The purity and sincerity of his heart was due to blessings of Allah swt .Allah swt guided his upcoming prophet through spiritual dreams. This hadith tells that prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam saw the true dreams and these dreams were materialised afterwards in a way that he felt that he was seeing real life in his dreams.According to authentic sources prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam saw these dreams for 6 months and received revelation for 23 year. According to an authentic hadith the dream of a true believer are 46th pat of revelation .This 46th part is actually derived from the ratio of the period of true dreams with the period of revelation .This was a good and amazing sign for him so he thought to seek a place of isolation for further concentration. He only expressed this feeling with his loyal wife Khadija radi Allahu anha .Khadija radi Allahu anha was a very intelligent woman so she encouraged him to seek seclusion.

This hadith says that he chose cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food like-wise .This worshipping was very satisfying for him so after seeing his family for a while he used to came back to cave of Hira to continue his worshipping .One day while he was busy in his worhsipping the angel Gabriel came to him .The angel came in his true form so it was amazing for Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam .Propeht salal laho aliehi wasalam also became anxious to see this unusual creation .Angel approached him and asked him to read prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam had not received any formal education so he replied that he did not know how to read . When he replied to angel that he did not know how to read angel approached near him and took him in his arms and pressed him hard against him and after releasing him asked him to read.Answer of Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam was same that he did not know how to read.At this angel pressed him hard against him once more and after releasing him asked him to read prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam responded in the same manner that he did not know how to read.

The angel repeated it third time and than after realeasing him recited the verses of Surah Alaq:

Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists). Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, (Al-'Alaq 96:1-3)

This unusal experience made prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam anxious about his current and future life.He rushed back to his house ,he was trembling and his heart was beating fast he after entering his house demanded Khadija radi Allahu anha to cover him.Khadija radi Allahu anha covered him. She was surprised to see him in that way because prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam never came back home in that way.But she was not asking him any thing and was waiting for his relaxation. After some time when he was relaxed and his fear was over he told Khadija radi Allahu anha about the incident that took place in cave of Hira .He said to her “I fear some thing may happen to me”.

Khadija radi Allahu anha was well aware of the great attributes of her great husband so she consoled him by reminding of his attributes .Khadija radi Allahu anha was a very wise woman and realised that her husband was going to get a supreme spiritual status in his coming life so she recommended prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam to accompany her to her cousin Warqa bin Nofal who had left the polytheism and was converted to Christianity and was a scholar of old scriptures.

When they reached the house of Warqa bin nofal prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam told him about the incident that took place in cave of Hira. After listening the whole incident Warqa immediately told that angel Gabriel had come to him and added that it was the same angel that had come to Moses and Jesus aliehis salam .In the light of his knowledge of old scriptures he also foretold that a time will come when prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam will be forced to migrate from Makkah .Prophet salal laho aleihi wasalam had a great love of Makkah in his heart so he asked him why the people of Makkah will force him to leave his land ? Waraqa said, "Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly”.

These sayings of Warqa bin Nofal mentioned in hadith are in accordance with the fact that has been revealed in the holy Quran :

Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e.Muhammad SAW) whom they find written with them in the Taurât (Torah) (Deut, xviii, 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16), - (Al-A'raf 7:157).

It was however the decision of Allah swt that Warqa bin Nofal died after few days of this meeting. It appears as his job was to confirm the revelation of Allah swt on Prophet Muhammad salal laho aliehi wasalam .And after this meeting the revelation of Allah swt was also paused for some times .And this gap was filled in the following way that While prophet salal laho aliehi waslaam was walking, all of a sudden he heard a voice from the sky. He looked up and saw the same angel who had visited me at the cave of Hira' sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth.

According to hadith he got afraid of him and came back home and said:

“Wrap me (in blankets).”

And then Allah revealed the following Holy Verses of Quran:

O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! Arise and warn! And your Lord (Allâh) magnify! And your garments purify! And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)!(Al-Muddaththir 74:1-5)

After this the revelation started coming strongly, frequently and regularly.

By Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer

After 9/11 Muslim world has been facing war against terror. We have to see who is terrorist in real sense?

Thousands of Muslims have been killed by in this war in Iraq ,Afghanistan and Tribal areas of Pakistan .Every one need to check the data how many non Muslims have been killed by Muslims till now?

Indian Army has killed thousands of Innocent Kahmiris. How many Hindus have been killed in India and Pakistan by Muslims?

There is ban on Hijab in many European country but is there any ban on dress code of Nuns in any Muslim country.

There is ban on minarates of Masjid in Switzerland .Have Muslims implemented any ban on cross of Church in any Muslim country?????

Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam have been mocked in many Euorpean countries.Did Muslims ever think of mocking Jesus Christ and Holy Marry.

Terry Jones set Quran on Fire in America.Did Muslims ever burn Bible any where round the world????

The list of crimes of Muslims is that they

1 Preach right religion
2 Talk against vulgarity
3 Raise voice against addiction
4 Protect dignity of women
5 Condemn Homosexuality
6 Are against Imperialism
7 Expose injustice and crimes against humanity

real purpose of creation

What is the real purpose of creation? Allah swt answers this question on different ocassions in Holy Quran.I am quoting just two instances from Quran :

1 "Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?" (Al-Mu'minun 23:115)

2 And I (Allâh) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). (Adh-Dhariyat 51:56).

Surah Ikhlaas is equivalent to a Third of the Qur'an

Al-Bukhari recorded from Abu Sa`id that a man heard another man reciting
(Say: "He is Allah, One.'')
and he was repeating over and over. So when morning came, the man went to the Prophet and mentioned that to him, and it was as though he was belittling it.

The Prophet said,

(By He in Whose Hand is my soul, verily it is equivalent to a third of the Qur'an.)

Abu Dawud and An-Nasa'i also recorded it.

Another Hadith Al-Bukhari recorded from Abu Sa`id, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah said to his Companions,

(Is one of you not able to recite a third of the Qur'an in a single night)

("Allah is the One, As-Samad'' is a third of the Qur'an.) Al-Bukhari was alone in recording this Hadith.

This was something that was difficult for them and they said, "Which of us is able to do that, O Messenger of Allah'' So he replied,

("Allah is the One, As-Samad'' is a third of the Qur'an.)

Al-Bukhari was alone in recording this Hadith.

ADVICE TO ALL LEARNERS OF DEEN

By Brother Mohammad Ali

Holy Prophet (sallalaho alayhi wassalam) said:
“Everybody has his time of energy, and every time of energy is followed by a time of lethargy. But if a person tries to follow a moderate path, then I have hope for him, but if he becomes one who is pointed out (in the street), then do not think anything of him.”
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2453; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 1995).

What is meant by “Everybody has his time of energy” is eagerness for a thing, energy and the desire to do good.

What is meant by “every time of energy is followed by a time of lethargy” is tiredness, weakness and lack of movement because of people's criticism or other factors.

“But if a person tries to follow a moderate path” means that the one who has energy does his deeds in moderation and avoids going to extremes when he is feeling energetic and avoids being negligent when he is feeling lethargic.

“Then I have hope for him” means, I have hope that he will be successful, for he can continue following a middle course, and the most beloved deeds to Allaah are those which are continuous.

“but if he becomes one who is pointed out (in the street)” means, if he strives hard and goes to extremes in doing good deeds so that he will become famous for his worship and asceticism, and he becomes famous and people point him out to one another,

“then do not think anything of him” means, do not think that he is one of the righteous, because he is showing off. He did not say, “do not have hope for him,” as an indication that he has already fallen, and he will not be able to make up for what he has missed out on.
[Explained by Shaykh Salih al Munajjid]

I just want to share with all students of deen some advices from my personal experience. When you start learning deen, you get great energy and enthusiasm. Then you look at the people and society around you and you say "KIA BAKWAS HAI" and u get the utmost desire to change it all. This enthusiasm can be very good, and can be very dangerous as well. The hadith of Holy Prophet (pbuh) is enough to explain how it can be very good. If the person follows a moderate path and do not indulge him/herself into too many things and observe patience, then surely such a person is the wise one.  But if the person indulges him/herself into too many things and wants to do a lot, then there is ample chance that this person will fall into mismanagement and the result of mis management will be that nothing will be done completely and it will only bring frustration.

Alhamdulilah with the rise in Islamic media, learning Islam has become very easy and many people especially youngsters are coming to Islam daily. However much focus is being given to "REVERTING THEM" but not much focus is being given to "WHAT TO DO AFTER REVERTING THEM?" Not much work is being done to groom these young people and to educate them about manners of daawah and about working for Islam. This is the reason why we see Facebook shaykhs cursing abusing scholars and giving fatwas and doing all sorts of critical analysis of everything.

The truth is that, such an enthusiasm doesn't last for long. Ive seen people start with the idea of doing so many things, but ultimately doing nothing or doing everything in such a mis managed way. Beware of such an enthusiasm. Please follow a moderate path. Read books about manners of daawah and about manners of bringing change. Sit with scholars, ask questions from them. Learn from them. Please do not think internet is your Shaykh. Please go to scholars. I used to be the most arrogant person who thought i have a lot of knowledge, but Allah blessed me with company of such a person who taught me a lot and who opened my eyes what i am and through him i had the oppurtunity to sit with many scholars and the more i sit, the more i realise "Now i am learning true deen."

Manner of debate

By Brother Mohammad Ali

But since i have read some content related to manners of debating and discussion, i just want to mention few manners related to debate, which will be beneficial for everyone in future insha Allah.

1- Before starting debate, clear your mind with the thought that you are right and all others are wrong.

2- When debating, leave your ego aside. If u bring ur ego into debate, u will start doing personal attacks and taunting on others.

3- Choose your words very carefully in doing critical analysis of something especially scholars or state or anything. Realize that u are speaking publicly and many people are listening to u and reading whatever u write, so whatever u write can effect people's mind and they can pass that to others. And a chain can be started whose source is you. So be very careful. Allah will ask you for whatever u utter.

4- Please build tolerance in yourself. If someone disagrees with you, its natural. Please do not take it as ABNORMAL. Please do not become emotional. Sahabah [ra] used to differ with each other. That difference never lead to hatred/enmity/taunting etc.

Insha Allah if we all follow these simple rules, we will become professional debaters who are heard and respected everywhere and whose opinion carries weight. Otherwise we will all be just among those whose "PHILOSOPHER" comes out at facebook and speaks whatever he wants :P

[p.s I do not claim to be a great debater or following manners of debating. I just shared what i read through different sources regarding manners of debating and discussion. It will be beneficial to all including me insha Allah.]

Tips on Modesty in Campus [university]

by Brother Mugheerah Luqman from Islamic Brother

To keep up modesty is really hard while you are in class with many mod-scott girls (whose main intentions are to attract boys towards them). However, we can't let it go. I do face this problem in my college class, so here is what I do:

Firstly,  there are various verses like lowering gaze and being strict in talking to non-mehram, etc.

We have weak Iman and really sometimes unintentionally we do things of which we really get ashamed of, so here is how I try to control my temptations:

Firstly, While in class, I try my best to sit in the front row so that my eyes are more focused on the board and teacher and where girls are not visible.  The teacher pays much attention to the front benchers and they are to be ready for any type of responses from the teacher, so this way the attention is not diverted to non-mehram.
Secondly, I sit twisted in the chair in a way that my back is towards the girls sitting on the right side... and of course never ever sit with a girl even if I had to stand up.

Secondly, I try my best to keep my JOKES to myself, especially when others are being popular and centre of attention. In other words try to keep a low profile and hide my laughter and show seriousness and whenever I realize that i'm a little loosing it, I start talking to myself by shutting my eyes, like Hey hold on, this is your test, You can not get whatever you like; then immediately start thinking of mission and purpose of life, etc. It really helps!

Thirdly,  Now when your outside the class, within the premises, your beard helps a lot as you see that girls are thinking of you as Molvi and stuff, especially when you put on Shalwaar Qameez with your ankles uncovered, you feel like your outclassed and then you realize what is your life and what you actually prioritize. At that moment you say, I could be like other boys but I am different and I am a slave of Allah, so here I go being proud of being considered as a MOLVI. Yes I am MOLVI.

Similarly it helps even more, when you say in class loudly to your mates, eyaar men MOLVI aadmi hn mujhey in baaton say koi saro kaar nai...

Well here is what I do, so you can try anyone of it.

Brother your beard and costume actually matters a lot! I really feel different when I wear shalwaar qameez in college and I try my best to wear that in college as much as I can, though I wear trousers and shirts too but only at home and stuff. But when it comes to institutions of western education and people inspired by them, I feel like, Here is the time to prove your Iman and FUNDAMENTALISM.

May Allah save us from the evils of such institutions...! Ameen!

Why I Shed Bikini for Niqab: The New Symbol of Women's Liberation

By Sister Sara Bokker

I am an American woman who was born in the midst of America's "Heartland." I grew up, just like any other girl, being fixated with the glamour of life in "the big city." Eventually, I moved to Florida and on to South Beach of Miami, a hotspot for those seeking the "glamorous life." Naturally, I did what most average Western girls do. I focused on my appearance and appeal, basing my self-worth on how much attention I got from others. I worked out religiously and became a personal trainer, acquired an upscale waterfront residence, became a regular "exhibiting" beach-goer and was able to attain a "living-in-style" kind of life.

Years went by, only to realize that my scale of self-fulfillment and happiness slid down the more I progressed in my "feminine appeal." I was a slave to fashion. I was a hostage to my looks.

As the gap continued to progressively widen between my self-fulfillment and lifestyle, I sought refuge in escapes from alcohol and parties to meditation, activism, and alternative religions, only to have the little gap widen to what seemed like a valley. I eventually realized it all was merely a pain killer rather than an effective remedy.

By now it was September 11, 2001. As I witnessed the ensuing barrage on Islam, Islamic values and culture, and the infamous declaration of the "new crusade," I started to notice something called Islam. Up until that point, all I had associated with Islam was women covered in "tents," wife beaters, harems, and a world of terrorism.

As a feminist libertarian, and an activist who was pursuing a better world for all, my path crossed with that of another activist who was already at the lead of indiscriminately furthering causes of reform and justice for all. I joined in the ongoing campaigns of my new mentor which included, at the time, election reform and civil rights, among others. Now my new activism was fundamentally different. Instead of "selectively" advocating justice only to some, I learned that ideals such as justice, freedom, and respect are meant to be and are essentially universal, and that own good and common good are not in conflict. For the first time, I knew what "all people are created equal" really means. But most importantly, I learned that it only takes faith to see the world as one and to see the unity in creation.

One day I came across a book that is negatively stereotyped in the West--The Holy Qur'an. I was first attracted by the style and approach of the Qur'an, and then intrigued by its outlook on existence, life, creation, and the relationship between Creator and creation. I found the Qur'an to be a very insightful address to heart and soul without the need for an interpreter or pastor.

Eventually I hit a moment of truth: my new-found self-fulfilling activism was nothing more than merely embracing a faith called Islam where I could live in peace as a "functional" Muslim.

I bought a beautiful long gown and head cover resembling the Muslim woman's dress code and I walked down the same streets and neighborhoods where only days earlier I had walked in my shorts, bikini, or "elegant" western business attire. Although the people, the faces, and the shops were all the same, one thing was remarkably distinct--I was not--nor was the peace at being a woman I experienced for the very first time. I felt as if the chains had been broken and I was finally free. I was delighted with the new looks of wonder on people's faces in place of the looks of a hunter watching his prey I had once sought. Suddenly a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I no longer spent all my time consumed with shopping, makeup, getting my hair done, and working out. Finally, I was free.

Of all places, I found my Islam at the heart of what some call "the most scandalous place on earth," which makes it all the more dear and special.

While content with Hijab I became curious about Niqab, seeing an increasing number of Muslim women in it. I asked my Muslim husband, whom I married after I reverted to Islam, whether I should wear Niqab or just settle for the Hijab I was already wearing. My husband simply advised me that he believes Hijab is mandatory in Islam while Niqab is not. (Niqab is mandatory as well please read this note https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=226325740757053) At the time, my Hijab consisted of head scarf that covered all my hair except for my face, and a loose long black gown called "Abaya" that covered all my body from neck to toe.

A year-and-a-half passed, and I told my husband I wanted to wear Niqab. My reason, this time, was that I felt it would be more pleasing to Allah, the Creator, increasing my feeling of peace at being more modest. He supported my decision and took me to buy an "Isdaal," a loose black gown that covers from head to toe, and Niqab, which covers all my head and face except for my eyes.

Soon enough, news started breaking about politicians, Vatican clergymen, libertarians, and so-called human rights and freedom activists condemning Hijab at times, and Niqab at others as being oppressive to women, an obstacle to social integration, and more recently, as an Egyptian official called it--"a sign of backwardness."

I find it to be a blatant hypocrisy when Western governments and so-called human rights groups rush to defend woman's rights when some governments impose a certain dress code on women, yet such "freedom fighters" look the other way when women are being deprived of their rights, work, and education just because they choose to exercise their right to wear Niqab or Hijab. Today, women in Hijab or Niqab are being increasingly barred from work and education not only under totalitarian regimes such as in Tunisia, Morocco, and Egypt, but also in Western democracies such as France, Holland, and Britain.

Today I am still a feminist, but a Muslim feminist, who calls on Muslim women to assume their responsibilities in providing all the support they can for their husbands to be good Muslims. To raise their children as upright Muslims so they may be beacons of light for all humanity once again. To enjoin good--any good--and to forbid evil--any evil. To speak righteousness and to speak up against all ills. To fight for our right to wear Niqab or Hijab and to please our Creator whichever way we chose. But just as importantly to carry our experience with Niqab or Hijab to fellow women who may never have had the chance to understand what wearing Niqab or Hijab means to us and why do we, so dearly, embrace it.

Most of the women I know wearing Niqab are Western reverts, some of whom are not even married. Others wear Niqab without full support of either family or surroundings. What we all have in common is that it is the personal choice of each and every one of us, which none of us is willing to surrender. Willingly or unwillingly, women are bombarded with styles of "dressing-in-little-to-nothing" virtually in every means of communication everywhere in the world. As an ex non-Muslim, I insist on women's right to equally know about Hijab, its virtues, and the peace and happiness it brings to a woman's life as it did to mine. Yesterday, the bikini was the symbol of my liberty, when in actuality it only liberated me from my spirituality and true value as a respectable human being.

I couldn't be happier to shed my bikini in South Beach and the "glamorous" Western lifestyle to live in peace with my Creator and enjoy living among fellow humans as a worthy person. It is why I choose to wear Niqab, and why I will die defending my inalienable right to wear it. Today, Niqab is the new symbol of woman's liberation.

To women who surrender to the ugly stereotype against the Islamic modesty of Hijab, I say: You don't know what you are missing.
