Every Messenger was sent, for people to OBEY .
Evidence in Surah An-Nisa Ayah 64 ,
“ We sent no Messenger, but to be obeyed by Allah’s Leave. If they (hypocrites), when they had been unjust to themselves, had come to you (Muhammad) and begged Allah’s Forgiveness, and the Messenger had begged forgiveness for them: indeed, they would have found Allah All-Forgiving (One Who accepts repentance), Most Merciful.”
Another lesson which we get from this ayah is that, in this present world, Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلام is not alive but His teachings and Hadith are.Therefore, those who wants forgiveness from ALLAH, must seek knowledge of Hadith and act upon it. Allah will surely forgive.
Question: What are the four obligations of Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلام ?
Answer : Evidence of Surah A’al-Imran Ayah 164,
“Indeed Allah conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger (Muhammad ) from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses (the Qur’an), and purifying them (from sins by their following him), and instructing them (in) the Book (the Qur’an) andAl-Hikmah [the wisdom and the Sunnah of the Prophet
Obligations are :
1- ”reciting unto them His Verses (the Qur’an),”
2-”purifying them (from sins by their following him),”
3- “instructing them (in) the Book (the Qur’an”. (means giving them knowledge of Qura’n).
4-” Al-Hikmah [the wisdom and the Sunnah of the Prophet (i.e. his legal ways, statements, acts of worship, etc.)]” (means giving them knowledge of Hadith)
(i.e. his legal ways, statements, acts of worship, etc.)]” (means giving them knowledge of Hadith)Iman Shaf’ee in His book of Ar-Risalah, Page 78 says,” I have heard from the Ahl-e-Ilm (People of Knowledge) of Qur’an whom i like that the word” Al-Hikmah ” means Sunnah of Prophet.
Al-Hikmah in Quran means Sunnah of Prophet, than how can we reject Hadith of Prophet? Have not those who reject Hadith read Surah An-Nisa Ayah 113, “Allah has sent down to you the Book (The Qur’an), and Al-Hikmah (Islamic laws, knowledge of legal and illegal things i.e. the Prophet’s Sunnah - legal ways), and taught you that which you knew not. And Ever Great is the Grace of Allah unto you (O Muhammad ).
