Ramadan: Such Excellence! (Hadith No. 1623)

Bismillah.
Volume 3, Book 31, Number 128:
Narrated Abu Huraira (radiallaahu `anhu):
Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) said, "Allah said, 'All the deeds of Adam's sons (people) are for them, except fasting which is for Me, and I will give the reward for it.' Fasting is a shield or protection from the fire and from committing sins. If one of you is fasting, he should avoid sexual relation with his wife and quarreling, and if somebody should fight or quarrel with him, he should say, 'I am fasting.' By Him in Whose Hands my soul is' The unpleasant smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. There are two pleasures for the fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time when he will meet his Lord; then he will be pleased because of his fasting."
How many virtues of fasting/Ramadan have you come across up till now? There are 13 in this post and several others. Can you share some rare ones?

Jihaad for Women (Hadith No. 1579)

Bismillah.
Volume 3, Book 29, Number 84:
Narrated Aisha (radiallaahu `anhaa):
I said, "O Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam)! Shouldn't we participate in Holy battles and Jihad along with you?" He replied, "The best and the most superior Jihad (for women) is Hajj which is accepted by Allah." 'Aisha added: Ever since I heard that from Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) I have determined not to miss Hajj.
Jihaad against the kuffaar by fighting is not obligatory for women, but they must make jihaad by calling others to the truth (da’wah) and teaching them about Islam, within the limits that will protect them and wearing the clothes that cover their ‘awrah. They should not mix with non-mahram men or speak in soft voices or be alone with non-mahram men. Allaah said concerning the wives of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him):
“And remember (O you members of the Prophet’s family), the Graces of your Lord), that which is recited in your houses of the Verses of Allaah and Al-Hikmah (i.e. Prophet’s Sunnah)” [al-Ahzaab 33:34]
It was reported that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: I said, O Messenger of Allaah, do women have to do any kind of jihaad? He said, “Yes, they have to do the kind of jihaad in which there is no fighting: Hajj and ‘Umrah.” (Reported by Ahmad, 6/68; Ibn Maajah, 2/968).

The Hidden Message in Good Deeds (Hadith No. 1411)

Bismillah.
Hadith no. 1407 (below) is a repeat. Read it here.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 707:
Narrated Nafi':
Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu `anhu) said, "When Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) performed the first Tawaf he did Ramal in the first three rounds and then walked in the remaining four rounds (of Tawaf of the Ka'ba), where as in performing Tawaf between Safa and Marwa he used to run in the midst of the rain-water passage," I asked Nafi', "Did 'Abdullah (bin 'Umar) (radiallaahu `anhu) use to walk steadily on reaching the Yemenite Corner?" He replied, "No, unless people were crowded at the Corner; otherwise he would not leave it without touching it."
Hadith no. 1408 (below) is also a repeat. Read it here.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 708:
Narrated 'Amr bin Dinar:
We asked Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu `anhu) whether a man who, while performing 'Umra, had performed Tawaf of the Ka'ba; and had not yet performed Tawaf between Safa and Marwa, could have sexual relation with his wife, Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu `anhu) replied "The Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) reached Mecca and performed the seven rounds (of Tawaf) of the Ka'ba and then offered a two-Rakat prayer behind Maqam ibrahim and then performed the seven rounds (of Tawaf) between Safa and Marwa." He added, "Verily! In Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) you have a good example." We asked Jabir bin 'Abdullah (radiallaahu `anhu) (the same question) and he said, "He (that man) should not come near (his wife) till he has completed Tawaf between Safa and Marwa."
Hadith no. 1409 (below) is also a repeat. Read it here.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 709:
Narrated 'Amr bin Dinar:
I heard Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu `anhu) saying, "The Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) arrived at Mecca and performed Tawaf of the Ka'ba and then offered a two-Rakat prayer and then performed Tawaf between Safa and Marwa." Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu `anhu) then recited (the verse): "Verily! In Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) you have a good example. "
Hadith no. 1410 (below) is a repeat as well. Read it here.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 710:
Narrated 'Asim:
I asked Anas bin Malik (radiallaahu `anhu): "Did you use to dislike to perform Tawaf between Safa and Marwa?" He said, "Yes, as it was of the ceremonies of the days of the Pre-lslamic period of ignorance, till Allah revealed: 'Verily! (The two mountains) As-Safa and Al-Marwa are among the symbols of Allah. It is therefore no sin for him who performs the pilgrimage to the Ka'ba, or performs 'Umra, to perform Tawaf between them.' " (2.158)

Today's Hadith:

Volume 2, Book 26, Number 711:
Narrated Ibn Abbas (radiallaahu `anhu):
Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) performed Tawaf of the Ka'ba and the Sa'i of Safa and Marwa so as to show his strength to the pagans.
Strength was shown to let the pagans know that it is indeed the Kalimah of Allah that is supreme. It wasn't done to show the supremacy of the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) or the Muslims in general.
And that's how it's supposed to be. Any good that we do should be to establish Allah's Supremacy, not our own. Anything we do as Muslims should tell the Kuffaar how awesome our Rabb and Deen are, not how cool 'we' are. Take the 'me, myself and I' out of the equation and there you have it, the purpose of your life.

Like a Miracle! (Hadith No. 1273)

Bismillah.
Volume 2, Book 24, Number 574f:
Narrated Abu Huraira (radiallaahu `anhu):
The Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) said, "A man from Bani Israel asked someone from Bani Israel to give him a loan of one thousand Dinars and the latter gave it to him. The debtor went on a voyage (when the time for the payment of the debt became due) but he did not find a boat, so he took a piece of wood and bored it and put 1000 dinars in it and threw it into the sea. The creditor went out and took the piece of wood to his family to be used as fire-wood." And the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) narrated the narration (and said), "When he sawed the wood, he found his money."
Isn't is amazing? The person who owed the other money had full intention to return it, but couldn't find the means to. So he made a way for it, and Allah helped him with it. That pieced of wood could've been found by anyone, right? Allah's plan. SubhanAllah.
Also, one must be sincere in his words and abide by his promises. Only then Allah will help him fulfill them, even if it takes a miracle.. or something like it. :)

Three Things Allah Hates (Hadith No. 1214)

Bismillah.
Volume 2, Book 24, Number 555:
Narrated Ash-sha`bi:
The clerk of Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba (radiallaahu `anhu) narrated, "Mu`awiya (radiallaahu `anhu) wrote to Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba (radiallaahu `anhu): Write to me something which you have heard from the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) ." So Al-Mughira (radiallaahu `anhu) wrote: I heard the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) saying, "Allah has hated for you three things:
1. Vain talks, (useless talk) that you talk too much or about others.
2. Wasting of wealth (by extravagance)
3. And asking too many questions (in disputed religious matters) or asking others for something (except in great need).
Vain talk is a waste of time.
Extravagance is a waste of wealth.
Asking too many questions is a waste of intellect.
Why would Allah like it for you to waste away the blessings He gave to you? These resources, if used the right way, could bring immense benefit to the individual and the community as a whole.
To avoid useless talking, avoid talking about people and events. As the saying goes: "great minds discuss ideas".
To avoid waste of wealth, spend less. :P And do lots of Sadaqah.
To avoid asking too many (useless) questions, think before you speak, really. Getting into the how's and why's usually leads to such questions. A good solution is to think whether getting the answer to a specific question will bring you closer to Allah, or give you a plan of action. For example, the answer to "How old was `A'isha (radiallaahu `anhaa) when she got married?" won't do you much good. Increase in knowledge, yes. But does this knowledge result in `amal? I highly doubt it.
Be wise and and avoid doing stuff that Allah does not like. :)

Sharing Reward 100% (Hadith No. 1165)

Bismillah.
Hadith no. 1163 (about the seven lucky people) is a repeat. Read it here: http://ilookilisten.wordpress.com/2011/11/12/the-lucky-seven-hadith-no-629/
Hadith no. 1164 (about how we need to do Sadaqah NOW) is also a repeat. Read it here: http://ilookilisten.wordpress.com/2012/11/04/do-sadaqah-now-ahadith-1191-1194/
Volume 2, Book 24, Number 506:
Narrated 'Aisha:
Allah's Apostle said, "When a woman gives in charity some of the foodstuff (which she has in her house) without spoiling it, she will receive the reward for what she has spent, and her husband will receive the reward because of his earning, and the storekeeper will also have a reward similar to it. The reward of one will not decrease the reward of the others . "
This is one of the BEST things about Allah. That He's Ar-Raheem: Most Merciful. He's especially merciful for the believers. And one of the ways He shows mercy to us is by rewarding us with more than what we deserve. And if more than one people are involved in one good deed, they all get rewarded, without any reduction in anyone's reward. So you're sharing reward, but you still get 100% of it. Awesome, isn't it? :D

Don't Let Your Houses Become Graves (Ahadith 978 - 979)

Bismillah.

Volume 2, Book 21, Number 279:
Narrated Mahmud bin Ar-rabi' Al-Ansari,
that he remembered Allah's Apostle and he also remembered a mouthful of water which he had thrown on his face, after taking it from a well that was in their house. Mahmud said that he had heard Itban bin Malik, who was present with Allah's Apostle in the battle of Badr saying, "I used to lead my people at Bani Salim in the prayer and there was a valley between me and those people. Whenever it rained it used to be difficult for me to cross it to go to their mosque. So I went to Allah's Apostle and said, 'I have weak eye-sight and the valley between me and my people flows during the rainy season and it becomes difficult for me to cross it; I wish you would come to my house and pray at a place so that I could take that place as a praying place.' Allah's Apostle said, 'I will do so.' So Allah's Apostle and Abu Bakr came to my house in the (next) morning after the sun had risen high. Allah's Apostle asked my permission to let him in and I admitted him. He did not sit before saying, 'Where do you want us to offer the prayer in your house?' I pointed to the place where I wanted him to pray. So Allah's Apostle stood up for the prayer and started the prayer with Takbir and we aligned in rows behind him; and he offered two Rakat, and finished them with Taslim, and we also performed Taslim with him. I detained him for a meal called "Khazir" which I had prepared for him.--("Khazir" is a special type of dish prepared from barley flour and meat soup)--
When the neighbors got the news that Allah's Apostle was in my house, they poured it till there were a great number of men in the house. One of them said, 'What is wrong with Malik, for I do not see him?' One of them replied, 'He is a hypocrite and does not love Allah and His Apostle.' On that Allah's Apostle said, 'Don't say this. Haven't you seen that he said, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah for Allah's sake only.' The man replied, 'Allah and His Apostle know better; but by Allah, we never saw him but helping and talking with the hypocrites.' Allah's Apostle replied, 'No doubt, whoever says "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah", and by that he wants the pleasure of Allah, then Allah will save him from Hell." Mahmud added, "I told the above narration to some people, one of whom was Abu Aiyub, the companion of Allah's Apostle in the battle in which he (Abu Aiyub) died and Yazid bin Mu'awiya was their leader in Roman Territory. Abu Aiyub denounced the narration and said, 'I doubt that Allah's Apostle ever said what you have said.' I felt that too much, and I vowed to Allah that if I remained alive in that holy battle, I would (go to Medina and) ask Itban bin Malik if he was still living in the mosque of his people. So when he returned, I assumed Ihram for Hajj or 'Umra and then I proceeded on till I reached Medina. I went to Bani Salim and Itban bin Malik, who was by then an old blind man, was leading his people in the prayer. When he finished the prayer, I greeted him and introduced myself to him and then asked him about that narration. He told that narration again in the same manner as he had narrated it the first time."

Volume 2, Book 21, Number 280:
Narrated Ibn 'Umar,
Allah's Apostle said, "Offer some of your prayers in your houses and do not make them graves."
  • One may pray at home if the weather conditions are severe (for men).
  • Treat your guests well. Food is good hospitality. (y)
  • When someone invites you over for a purpose, stick to that purpose.
  • NEVER judge someone and/or his Imaan. You don't know what's in their heart.
  • Whoever says la ilaha illa-llah and seeks Allah's pleasure, Allah will admit him into Paradise inshaAllah. Prophet (SAW)'s words, not mine.
  • Pray at your homes some of your prayers. Don't let them become graves.
Graves symbolize death. Meaning, your house is dead unless Allah is remembered in it. Bring it to life with Allah's name!
Wassalam.

Capacity (Ahadith 950 - 951)

Assalamu`alaykum,
Bismillah.

Volume 2, Book 21, Number 251r:
Narrated Anas bin Malik
Once the Prophet (p.b.u.h) entered the Mosque and saw a rope hanging in between its two pillars. He said, "What is this rope?" The people said, "This rope is for Zainab who, when she feels tired, holds it (to keep standing for the prayer.)" The Prophet said, "Don't use it. Remove the rope. You should pray as long as you feel active, and when you get tired, sit down."

Volume 2, Book 21, Number 251n:
Narrated 'Aisha:
A woman from the tribe of Bani Asad was sitting with me and Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) came to my house and said, "Who is this?" I said, "(She is) So and so. She does not sleep at night because she is engaged in prayer." The Prophet said disapprovingly: Do (good) deeds which is within your capacity as Allah never gets tired of giving rewards till you get tired of doing good deeds."

Volume 2, Book 21, Number 252:
Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As:
Allah's Apostle said to me, "O 'Abdullah! Do not be like so and so who used to pray at night and then stopped the night prayer."

It's simple, really. What we tend to do is overdo stuff and get exhausted quickly. Say I got to know about the Sunnah of praying Tahajjud at night. I got so excited and motivated that I vowed to pray looooong rak`aat the whole night. I did it for one night, gave myself a tap on the back and felt good about it. Next night, again. And again. A few days later, I got so tired and exhausted that I left it completely.
There are several cons to this behavior. One of them is, that it lacks consistency. I did not continue the deed for long. I could not continue it, actually.
Narrated By 'Aisha (RA) : The Prophet (SAW) was asked, "What deeds are loved most by Allah?" He (SAW) said, "The most regular constant deeds even though they may be few." He (SAW) added, 'Don't take upon yourselves, except the deeds which are within your ability."
[Bukhari: Vol 8, Book 76, Number 472]
So take it easy. Hold your horses. :P
Whatever you do, make sure you do it continually. Quantity doesn't matter. Quality does.
Wassalam.

Is There Anyone? (Hadith No. 945)

Assalamu`alaykum,
Bismillah.

Volume 2, Book 21, Number 246:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, "Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: "Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?"

If someone knows this, and still misses the opportunity, I do not have words to describe his/her loss.
And I say this to myself before anyone else. -_-

Wassalam.

Thankfulness (Hadith No. 929)

Assalamu`alaykum,
Bismillah.

Volume 2, Book 21, Number 230:
Narrated Al-Mughira:
The Prophet used to stand (in the prayer) or pray till both his feet or legs swelled. He was asked why (he offered such an unbearable prayer) and he said, "should I not be a thankful slave."

Thanks or gratitude means reciprocating kindness and giving praise to the one who has done good and kind things. The one who is most deserving of thanks and praise from people is Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, because of the great favours and blessings that He has bestowed upon His slaves in both spiritual and worldly terms. Allaah has commanded us to give thanks to Him for those blessings, and not to deny them. He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me”
[al-Baqarah 2:152]
The greatest ones who obeyed this command, and gave thanks to their Lord until they deserved to be described as shaakir and shakoor (thankful) are the Prophets and Messengers (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon them).

How can a person thank his Lord for His great blessings? His gratitude should fulfil all the necessary conditions, which are gratitude of the heart, gratitude of the tongue and gratitude of the physical faculties.
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
Gratitude may be in the heart, in submission and humility; on the tongue, in praise and acknowledgement; and in the physical faculties, by means of obedience and submission.
Madaarij al-Saalikeen (2/246)
Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahmaan al-Sa’di (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
What man should do is attribute blessings to Allaah and acknowledge them fully. Thus he will attain complete Tawheed. Whoever denies the blessings of Allaah in his heart or on his tongue, is a kaafir and has nothing to do with Islam.
Whoever affirms in his heart that all blessings come from Allaah alone, but verbally he sometimes attributes them to Allaah and sometimes attributes them to himself, or his actions, or the efforts of someone else -- as happens on the lips of many people -- this is something that the person must repent from, and he should not attribute blessings to anyone except their Creator, and he must strive to make himself do that, because faith and Tawheed cannot be attained except by attributing blessings to Allaah.
The gratitude which is the head of faith is based on three pillars: acknowledgement of the heart of all the blessings that Allaah has bestowed upon him, and upon others, and talking about them; praising Allaah for them; and using them to obey the One Who bestowed the blessings and to worship Him.
Al-Qawl al-Sadeed fi Maqaasid al-Tawheed (p. 140)
Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
Gratitude is of two degrees, one of which is obligatory, which is doing obligatory actions and avoiding haraam things. This is essential and is sufficient as gratitude for these blessings.
Hence one of the salaf said:
Gratitude means giving up sin.
And one of them said:
Gratitude means not using any blessing to help one to disobey Him.

Summary:

In order to be grateful to your Lord for the blessings that He has bestowed upon you, you must acknowledge in your heart that the giver of these blessings and the bestower is Allaah, may He be exalted, so you venerate Him, attribute it to Him, and you acknowledge that with your tongue, so you give thanks to Him after waking from sleep for having given new life, and after eating and drinking for having provided you with them and bestowed them upon you, and so on with every blessing that you see in your life.
You give thanks with your physical faculties by not letting them see or hear any sin or evil, such as singing or gossip; you do not walk with your feet to haraam places; you do not use your hands to commit evil, such as haraam writing in a relationship with non-mahram women, or writing haraam contracts, or making or doing anything haraam. Giving thanks with the physical faculties for blessings also includes using them to obey Allaah, by reading Qur'aan and books of knowledge, listening to beneficial and useful things, and so on with all the faculties which you should use in various kinds of obedience and worship.
Remember that gratitude for blessings is a blessing which needs to be given thanks for, so that one will continue to enjoy the blessings of his Lord, thanking his Lord for those blessings and praising Him for helping him to be among those who give thanks.

Of Allah's Mercy.. (Ahadith 923 - 924)

Assalamu`alaykum,
Bismillah.

Volume 2, Book 21, Number 224:
Narrated Jundab:
The Prophet became sick and did not get up (for Tahajjud prayer) for a night or two.

Volume 2, Book 21, Number 225:
Narrated Jundab bin 'Abdullah :
Gabriel did not come to the Prophet (for some time) and so one of the Quraish women said, "His Satan has deserted him." So came the Divine Revelation: "By the forenoon And by the night When it is still! Your Lord (O Muhammad) has neither Forsaken you Nor hated you." (93.1-3)

Tahajjud was, as we all know, compulsory for the Prophet (SAW). He used to offer it every night. But when he became sick, he did not (maybe could not) get up for it. He was a human. So are we. It happens sometimes that we miss out on our regular, habitual deeds due to sickness or traveling or any other exceptional situation. But look at the immense mercy of Allah. He still rewards us for those missed out deeds. :)

Prophet (SAW) said:

 إِذَا مَرِضَ الْعَبْدُ أَوْ سَافَرَ، كُتِبَ لَهُ مِثْلُ مَا كَانَ يَعْمَلُ مُقِيمًا صَحِيحًا

When a slave falls ill or travels, then he will get reward similar to that he gets for good deeds practiced at home when in good health. [Bukhari]
Worry not!

Eclipse - Misc. (Ahadith 864 - 871)

Assalamu`alaykum,
Bismillah.
Hadith no. 863 is a repeat. Read it here.

Volume 2, Book 18, Number 864:
Narrated Abu Masud:
Allah's Apostle said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone's death or life but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah, so pray whenever you see them."

Volume 2, Book 18, Number 865:
Narrated 'Aisha:
In the lifetime of the Prophet the sun eclipsed and the Prophet (p.b.u.h) stood up to offer the prayer with the people and recited a long recitation, then he performed a prolonged bowing, and then lifted his head and recited a prolonged recitation which was shorter than the first. Then he performed a prolonged bowing which was shorter than the first and then lifted his head and performed two prostrations. He then stood up for the second Raka and offered it like the first. Then he stood up and said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone's life or death but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah which He shows to His worshipers. So whenever you see them, make haste for the prayer."

Volume 2, Book 18, Number 866:
Narrated Abu Musa:
The sun eclipsed and the Prophet got up, being afraid that it might be the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment). He went to the Mosque and offered the prayer with the longest Qiyam, bowing and prostration that I had ever seen him doing. Then he said, "These signs which Allah sends do not occur because of the life or death of somebody, but Allah makes His worshipers afraid by them. So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness."

Volume 2, Book 18, Number 867:
Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba :
On the day of Ibrahim's death, the sun eclipsed and the people said that the eclipse was due to the death of Ibrahim (the son of the Prophet). Allah's Apostle said, "The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of someone's death or life. So when you see them, invoke Allah and pray till the eclipse is clear."

Volume 2, Book 18, Number 868:
Narrated Abu Bakra:
In the life-time of the Prophet the sun eclipsed and then he offered a two Rakat prayer.

Volume 2, Book 18, Number 869:
Narrated Abu Bakra:
In the life-time of the Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) the sun eclipsed and he went out dragging his clothes till he reached the Mosque. The people gathered around him and he led them and offered two Rakat. When the sun (eclipse) cleared, he said, "The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse because of the death of someone, and so when an eclipse occurs, pray and invoke Allah till the eclipse is over." It happened that a son of the Prophet called Ibrahim died on that day and the people were talking about that (saying that the eclipse was caused by his death).

Volume 2, Book 18, Number 870:
Narrated Aisha:
The Prophet led us and performed four bowing in two Rakat during the solar eclipse and the first Raka was longer.

Volume 2, Book 18, Number 871:
Narrated 'Aisha:
The Prophet (p.b.u.h) recited (the Quran) aloud during the eclipse prayer and when he had finished the eclipse prayer he said the Takbir and bowed. When he stood straight from bowing he would say "Sami 'al-l-ahu Lyman hamidah Rabbana walaka-l-hamd." And he would again start reciting. In the eclipse prayer there are four bowing and four prostrations in two Rakat. Al-Auza'i and others said that they had heard Az-Zuhi from 'Ursa from 'Aisha saying, "In the life-time of Allah's Apostle the sun eclipsed, and he made a person to announce: 'Prayer in congregation.' He led the prayer and performed four bowing and four prostrations in two Rakat." Narrated Al-Walid that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Namir had informed him that he had heard the same. Ibn Shihab heard the same. Az-Zuhrl said, "I asked ('Ursa), 'What did your brother 'Abdullah bin AzZubair do? He prayed two Rakat (of the eclipse prayer) like the morning prayer, when he offered the (eclipse) prayer in Median.' 'Ursa replied that he had missed (i.e. did not pray according to) the Prophet's tradition." Sulaiman bin Kathir and Sufyan bin Husain narrated from Az-Zuhri that the prayer for the eclipse used to be offered with loud recitation.

Kitaab-ul-Kusoof [Book of Eclipses] ends here.
