Inside the Ka`bah [contd.] (Ahadith 1369 - 1371)

Bismillah.
Hadith no. 1368 (below) is a repeat. Read it here.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 668:
Narrated Salim that his father said,
"Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam), Usama bin Zaid (radiallaahu `anhu), Bilal (radiallaahu `anhu), and 'Uthman bin abu Talha (radiallaahu `anhu) entered the Ka'ba and then closed its door. When they opened the door I was the first person to enter (the Ka'ba). I met Bilal (radiallaahu `anhu) and asked him, "Did Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) offer a prayer inside (the Ka'ba)?" Bilal (radiallaahu `anhu) replied in the affirmative and said, "(The Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) offered the prayer) in between the two right pillars."

Today's Ahadith:

Volume 2, Book 26, Number 669:
Narrated Nafi':
Whenever Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu `anhu) entered the Ka'ba he used to walk straight keeping the door at his back on entering, and used to proceed on till about three cubits from the wall in front of him, and then he would offer the prayer there aiming at the place where Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) prayed, as Bilal (radiallaahu `anhu) had told him. There is no harm for any person to offer the prayer at any place inside the Ka'ba.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 670:
Narrated Isma'li bin Abu Khalid:
'Abdullah bin Abu Aufa (radiallaahu `anhu) said, "Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) performed the 'Umra. He performed Tawaf of the Ka'ba and offered two Rakat behind the Maqam (Abraham (`alayhissalaam)'s place) and was accompanied by those who were screening him from the people." Somebody asked 'Abdullah, "Did Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) enter the Ka'ba?" 'Abdullah replied in the negative.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 671:
Narrated Ibn Abbas (radiallaahu `anhu):
When Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) came to Mecca, he refused to enter the Ka'ba with idols in it. He ordered (idols to be taken out). So they were taken out. The people took out the pictures of Abraham (`alayhissalaam) and Ishmael (`alayhissalaam) holding Azlams in their hands. Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) said, "May Allah curse these people. By Allah, both Abraham (`alayhissalaam) and Ishmael (`alayhissalaam) never did the game of chance with Azlams." Then he entered the Ka'ba and said Takbir at its corners but did not offer the prayer in it.
  1. Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) did pray inside the Ka`bah. Scholars of Hadith have preferred Bilal (radiallaahu `anhu)'s report over Ibn Abbas (radiallaahu `anhu)'s report because what a person saw is a stronger proof than of what a person did not see. I suggest you read that again..
  2. Considering that the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) did not enter the Ka`bah when `Abdullah ibn `Abbas (radiallaahu `anhu)' was watching him, it gives proof that entering Ka`bah during Tawaf/`Umrah is not necessary. If one gets to get in (Hateem, for example), well and good. If not, no issues.
  3. Once you're inside the Ka`bah, you can pray facing any direction. How cool is that?
I don't know if the Hateem is to be included in this or not, though..

When Hajj will be Abandoned.. (Hadith No. 1363)

Bismillah.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 663:
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri (radiallaahu `anhu): The Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) said "The people will continue performing the Hajj and 'Umra to the Ka'ba even after the appearance of Gog and Magog."
Narrated Shu'ba extra: The Hour (Day of Judgment) will not be established till the Hajj (to the Ka'ba) is abandoned.
Yes, there will come a time when no righteous people will remain on Earth (they'll die due tot he wind that Allah will send after Gog and Magog's wipe-out). Therefore no Hajj, and Qiyamah will be brought upon the evil ones. May Allah save us from seeing that time!

Ka`bah to be Demolished Once More (Hadith No. 1361)

Bismillah.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 661:
Narrated Abu Huraira (radiallaahu `anhu):
The Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) said, "Dhus-Suwaiqa-tain (literally: One with two lean legs) from Ethiopia will demolish the Ka'ba."
This Hadith talks about the end of times, when people will have forgotten the Quran altogether, and there'll be no khayr (good) on Earth. The time when Ka`bah will also be removed from Earth, as it is also 'good'. Black/Ethiopian people will rise to power and it'll be one among them who'll demolish the Ka`bah. And Allah knows best.

The Original Ka`bah (Ahadith 1353 - 1356)

Bismillah.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 653:
Narrated 'Aisha (radiallaahu `anhaa):
(the wife of the Prophet) that Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) said to her, "Do you know that when your people (Quraish) rebuilt the Ka'ba, they decreased it from its original foundation laid by Abraham (`alayhissalaam)?" I said, "O Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam)! Why don't you rebuild it on its original foundation laid by Abraham (`alayhissalaam)?" He replied, "Were it not for the fact that your people are close to the pre-lslamic Period of ignorance (i.e. they have recently become Muslims) I would have done so." The sub-narrator, 'Abdullah (bin 'Umar) (radiallaahu `anhustated: 'Aisha (radiallaahu `anhaa) 'must have heard this from Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) for in my opinion Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallamhad not placed his hand over the two corners of the Ka'ba opposite Al-Hijr only because the Ka'ba was not rebuilt on its original foundations laid by Abraham (`alayhissalaam).

Volume 2, Book 26, Number 654:
Narrated 'Aisha (radiallaahu `anhaa):
I asked the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallamwhether the round wall (near Ka'ba) was part of the Ka'ba. The Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) replied in the affirmative. I further said, "What is wrong with them, why have they not included it in the building of the Ka'ba?" He said, "Don't you see that your people (Quraish) ran short of money (so they could not include it inside the building of Ka'ba)?" I asked, "What about its gate? Why is it so high?" He replied, "Your people did this so as to admit into it whomever they liked and prevent whomever they liked. Were your people not close to the Pre-lslamic Period of ignorance (i.e. they have recently embraced Islam) and were I not afraid that they would dislike it, surely I would have included the (area of the) wall inside the building of the Ka'ba and I would have lowered its gate to the level of the ground."

Volume 2, Book 26, Number 655:
Narrated 'Aisha (radiallaahu `anhaa):
Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) said to me, "Were your people not close to the Pre-lslamic period of ignorance, I would have demolished the Ka'ba and would have rebuilt it on its original foundations laid by Abraham (`alayhissalaam(for Quraish had curtailed its building), and I would have built a back door (too)."

Volume 2, Book 26, Number 656:
Narrated Yazid bin Ruman from 'Urwa (radiallaahu `anhu):
'Aisha (radiallaahu `anhaa) said that the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) said to her, "O Aisha (radiallaahu `anhaa)! Were your nation not close to the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance, I would have had the Ka'ba demolished and would have included in it the portion which had been left, and would have made it at a level with the ground and would have made two doors for it, one towards the east and the other towards the west, and then by doing this it would have been built on the foundations laid by Abraham (`alayhissalaam)." That was what urged Ibn-Az-Zubair to demolish the Ka'ba. Jazz said, "I saw Ibn-Az-Zubair when he demolished and rebuilt the Ka'ba and included in it a portion of Al-Hijr (the unroofed portion of Ka'ba which is at present in the form of a compound towards the north-west of the Ka'ba). I saw the original foundations of Abraham (`alayhissalaamwhich were of stones resembling the humps of camels." So Jarir asked Yazid, "Where was the place of those stones?" Jazz said, "I will just now show it to you." So Jarir accompanied Yazid and entered Al-Hijr, and Jazz pointed to a place and said, "Here it is." Jarir said, "It appeared to me about six cubits from Al-Hijr or so."

Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam)'s wisdom is unmatched! He avoided SUCH a big fitna by letting the Ka`bah be as it was. If only we were to deal with people and situations with enough wisdom. Most of the fasaad(s) are among the consequences of our own (non-wisdom-ful) actions.
May Allah give us hikmah (wisdom) and sabr (patience)!

Considerate Husband (Hadith No. 1327)

Bismillah.
Volume 2, Book 26, Number 627:
Narrated Aisha (radiallaahu `anhaa):
(the wife of the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) We set out with the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) in his last Hajj and we assumed Ihram for Umra. The Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) then said, "Whoever has the Hadi with him should assume Ihram for Hajj along with 'Umra and should not finish the Ihram till he finishes both." I was menstruating when I reached Mecca, and so I neither did Tawaf round the Ka'ba nor Tawaf between Safa and Marwa. I complained about that to the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) on which he replied, "Undo and comb your head hair, and assume Ihram for Hajj (only) and leave the Umra." So, I did so. When we had performed the Hajj, the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) sent me with my brother 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakr (radiallaahu `anhu) to Tan'im. So I performed the 'Umra. The Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) said to me, "This 'Umra is instead of your missed one." Those who had assumed Ihram for 'Umra (Hajj-atTamattu) performed Tawaf round the Ka'ba and between Safa and Marwa and then finished their Ihram. After returning from Mina, they performed another Tawaf (between Safa and Marwa). Those who had assumed Ihram for Hajj and 'Umra together (Hajj-al-Qiran) performed only one Tawaf (between Safa and Marwa).
Know more about the types of Hajj so it's easier to understand the itsy bitsy details.
Every time I come across this incident, I just marvel at the caring husband that the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) was. He could have easily told `Aa'isha (radiallaahu `anhaa) to just let it be and make sure to not come for Hajj during her menstruation. He could have been irritated with her. But he wasn't. He didn't say any reproachful words to her ("You and your problems! -_-", for example..). Rather he sent her with her brother especially so she could complete her manaasik. And he reassured her that her missed `Umrah had been covered for. Considerate he was. :)
