Praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.

Allaah has chosen for us Islam as our religion and He will not accept any other religion from anyone, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.”[Aal 'Imraan 3:85]

And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us that groups of his ummah would follow the enemies of Allaah in some of their rituals and customs, as it says in the hadeeth of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him), who narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, span by span, cubit by cubit, until even if they were to enter a lizard’s hole, you would follow them.” We said, “O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and Christians?” He said, “Who else?!”(Narrated by al-Bukhaari in al-I’tisaam bi’l-Kitaab wa’l-Sunnah, Baab Qawl an-Nabi (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) La tattabi’unna Sanan man kaana qablakum, 8/151; and by Muslim in Kitaab al-‘Ilm, Baab Ittibaa’ Sanan al-Yahood wa’l-Nasaara, 4/2054)

The Virtue of the Last two Verses of Surah Al-Baqarah

The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said:

"Whosoever reads the last two verses from Surat Al-Baqarah, in a night, (then that will be) sufficient² for him." [Bukhari and Muslim]

2. Meaning it will grant him the reward of night prayer in reciting the Qur’an. It was said that it meant that it would be sufficient for him (in protection) from all calamities. It was said that it would be sufficient for him from the evil of the devils. And it was said that they (i.e. the recitation of the two verses) would drive the evil of mankind and the devils away from him.

Praise be to Allaah.

What is the ruling on stealing electricity from the state? Please note that the state does not give citizens their rights in all things.

It is not permissible to steal electricity from the state, whether that is done by tinkering with the electricity meter, or by using tricks to avoid paying bills, or by any other means, because that involves cheating, deceiving and consuming people’s wealth unlawfully.

The fact that the state does not give the citizens their rights does not make it permissible to steal from the public wealth. These resources, such as electricity and other things, belong to the Muslims as a whole, so stealing from them is a transgression against the public wealth, not only against the government and its employees.

The Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) said ;
“Whoever conceals other’s faults in this life, Allah will conceal HIS faults on the Day of Resurrection.”
(Sahih Muslim)

Allah (swt) says in Surat Al-Ĥāqqah:

"That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden."

[Holy Qur’an, 69: 18]

So Conceal other’s faults so that Allah keeps your faults concealed on the Day of Judgement (Insha-Allah).
