Back, with Hadith No. 763


Salam,
Bismillah.

Before I start the Hadith, there's something I want to say (write? :/).
I haven't been posting Ahadith for a while now. Mainly because Hadith No. 763 required some explanation which I could find only in my physical Bukhari which I didn't take along while traveling. So every time I opened the blog trying to write a new post, I couldn't write it. Sigh. And no, I could not disturb the sequence. -_-

Haha.
Other than that, I've been busy with my beloved sister's wedding. Loved every bit of it, Alhamdulillah. The only thing I thought went wrong was the timing. I couldn't attend much of WOC or SIST because of it. But Alhamdulillah, whatever I did attend was awesome! Coming to the Hadith of the day..

Abu Huraira used to recite Qunut (invocation) after saying Sami` Allahu liman hamidah in the last Rak`ah of the Zuhr, `Isha' and Fajr prayers. He would ask Allah's Forgiveness for the true believers and curse the disbelievers. [Taken from Chapter 126 of Bukhari (volume 1 of the 9-volumes version translated by Muhsin Khan and published by Darussalam]
Volume 1, Book 12, Number 763:
Narrated Anas:
The Qunut used to be recited in the Maghrib and the Fajr prayers.

This Qunut is the one we call Qunut-e-Naazlah. Not the one we recite in witr after `Ishaa'. And this act can be done during wars etc., when Muslims are being treated unjustly.

Allah Heard Whoever Praised Him (Ahadith 761, 762, 764)


Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 761:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
When the Prophet said, "Sami' a-l-lahu Liman hamida," (Allah heard those who sent praises to Him), he would say, "Rabbana wa-laka-l-hamd." On bowing and raising his head from it the Prophet used to say Takbir. He also used to say Takbir on rising after the two prostrations. (See Hadith No. 656).

 Volume 1, Book 12, Number 762:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "When the Imam says, "Sami' a-l-lahu Liman hamida," you should say, "Allahumma Rabbana laka-l-hamd." And if the saying of any one of you coincides with that of the angels, all his past sins will be forgiven."

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 764:
Narrated Rifa'a bin Rafi AzZuraqi:
One day we were praying behind the Prophet. When he raised his head from bowing, he said, "Sami'a-l-lahu Liman hamida." A man behind him said, "Rabbana walaka-l hamd hamdan Kathiran taiyiban mubarakan fihi" (O our Lord! All the praises are for You, many good and blessed praises). When the Prophet completed the prayer, he asked, "Who has said these words?" The man replied, "I." The Prophet said, "I saw over thirty angels competing to write it first." Prophet rose (from bowing) and stood straight till all the vertebrae of his spinal column came to a natural position.

So you may say Rabbanaa laka-l-hamd, or Rabbanaa walaka-l-hamd, or Allahumma rabbanaa laka-l-hamd, or Rabbana walaka-l hamd hamdan Kathiran taiyiban mubarakan fihi. Doesn't take long to day these absolutely beautiful words. So JUST DO IT! :D

Revamp Your Sajdah & Ruku` (Hadith No. 760)

Bismillah.

Hadith no. 759 is a repeat. Read it here.

 Volume 1, Book 12, Number 760:
Narrated 'Aisha:
The Prophet used to say in his bowing and prostrations, "Subhanaka-Allahumma Rabbana wa-bihamdika Allahumma-ighfirli.' (I honor Allah from all what (unsuitable things) is ascribed to Him. O Allah Our Lord! And all the praises are for You. O Allah! Forgive me)."

سبحانك اللهم ربنا وبحمدك اللهم اغفرلي

Doesn't Salah get monotonous reciting the same old du`as that we've memorized since childhood? Revamp your Salah by reciting new du`as. You'll feel the difference inshaAllah. :)

Hadith No. 758

Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 758:
Narrated Al-Bara:
The bowing, the prostration the sitting in between the two prostrations and the standing after the bowing of the Prophet but not Qiyam (standing in the prayer) and Qu'ud (sitting in the prayer) used to be approximately equal (in duration).

Oooh. Didn't know that! :)

For Real For Real (Hadith No. 757)

Volume 1, Book 12, Number 757:
Narrated Zaid binWahb:
Hudhaifa saw a person who was not performing the bowing and prostrations perfectly. He said to him, "You have not prayed and if you should die you would die on a religion other than that of Muhammad."

 My reaction: O_O

Wouldn't it be the greatest loss? Thinking you've done something to earn reward and Allah's pleasure, but actually all you've gained is loss. You think you've prayed, but in fact you haven't. You proudly label yourself a Muslim, but in reality you're not on the religion of Muhammad (SAW). Astaghfirullah! *shivers*
In order to save ourselves from such a bad surprise in the Hereafter, we have to perfect our prayers. Study the way Prophet (SAW) used to perform Salah very carefully and follow it as much as you can. While studying the Sunnah, you might find some teachings conflicting with the way your mom or dad or Imaam sahab used to pray. But it shouldn't matter. It shouldn't hold you back from changing your way. Because you are to follow Muhammad (SAW)'s way. For real for real (Wisam Sharieff style).
