Freedom of choice(Islam ensures freedom of choice more than all other religions and philosophies)

It is the sign of creativity of Allah swt that nobody in this universe is identical and ayah

And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colours. Verily, in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge. (Ar-Rum 30:22)
tells us the same thing.

This ayah never sayd that people should and will be same in their choices .So some people like red colour where as some others like yellow.Yellow is an inferior colour for the people who like red colour .Similarly red is inferior for those who like yellow colour. It does not mean that yellow and red colours donot exist for the people who take them inferior. It is the matter of choice .No body has the right to dictate other one about his choice because it is against the message of the verse and basic human rights.

Similarly the person who likes chicken takes mutton as inferior and a person who likes mutton may take chicken as inferior .It does not mean that the person who likes chicken  should dictate others  to leave mutton and choose chicken .It is once again the violation of human rights.

Similarly a person who is born in village and does not know the taste of Burger has full right to prefer it  on the food he was eating in mother home. Similarly a person who is a born Pakistani may prefer English, French or any other language on his regional and national language.

In all these matters human beings are not bound to follow one thing. It is the matter of freedom of choice where no one can dictate others. Every one has full right to have certain choice and he can justify his choice with logic ,arguments or even choose some thing due to his personal likeness or dis-likeness .Islam never dictates any one to have certain dress code certain eating style certain language provided that it is not exceeding limits of haram prescribed by Allah swt and explained by His Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam.

Men can wear any dress if it is loose and above ankles  and similarly women can wear any provided that she is segregated from males.Similarly Muslims can eat any food provided that it is not haram and can speak any language provided that there purpose is not to show off and let down others.

It is only the matter of religion where we are bound to follow one way and Allah has not chosen more than one way for human success.

He says:

And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. (Aali Imran 3:85)

It is against laws of nature to have one opinion related to choice of colour ,languages ,professions , faculties and spouses. We must  bear in mind that our choice does not only depend on brainwashing and propaganda but it also depends on our past experience.

One may love his younger aunt, sister and brother more than the elders because of the love he receives from his younger aunt, sister and brother .

Any person whose taste buds like certain food cannot be compelled to like some other food because it is matter of feeling and perception.

Same is the case of language .Language is a mean of communication and its affect is felt by the soul of human being and the choice of human being depends on the experience and benefit  which he derives from a certain language. Some people get more benefit from their mother languages where as some others get more benefit from some foreign language .So this choice or preference of language is not some thing which can be dictated . It does not mean that one who prefers certain language should compel others to prefer that particular  language or he should try or attempt to eliminate other languages. No one has got right to dictate others in these matters .One can however convince or tell others about the reasons of his preference because it is a matter of freedom of choice and expression .

Islam ensures freedom for every one provided that this freedom does not violate laws of Allah swt.Arabic has preference on other languages because Quran was revealed in it. All other languages have some status as far as communication is concerned .Every language has its own unique experience but it depends on every single human being that which experience soothes his soul or benefits his conscious more than other languages.

Same is the case of choice of spouse.Although in this matter Allah swt and His Rasool salal laho aliehi wasalam has guided us about the attributes of the spouse that he/she should be pious and should have good ethical values .But even with in this boundary there are hundreds of options and prophet salal laho aliehi wasalam has always forbidden to dictate bride about certain groom and her consent is essential for her future life. This is the richness of Islamic culture that in this religion there is a vast range of choice starting from marrying with in the family to cross cultural marriages provided that piety and moral strength is kept in view.

Those people who think that Islam is a religion in which there is no freedom of expression are totally wrong in their perceptions. Islam is the only religion which ensures freedom of choice with in the boundaries of piety and moral values.
